I'll Probably Be Reintroducing Myself My Entire Life

Friends, I canonically like to act like the extremely non-casual social media use has besically become anyone’s best bet at making a decent living in a time of ever-threatening unemployment. This Aries stellium has made it clear there’s no more time for that. So I put that mf phone up on the boom arm on my desk and just started talking. I’ve stopped and started too many podcast scripts. Figured it’s better if I just get going. PAINHUB is such a nebulous thing, I really have struggled to define it all of this time. This is some of the best I’ve been able to verbalize it to others, and something about the camera and mic does help one think. Goddamn it, I am a podcast girlie. The essay to YT/podcast pipeline is very predictably but what am I? That’s right— human. The only one really judging me is me, anyway. Enjoy and have a great Wednesday night.-J This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit painhub.substack.com/subscribe

    motivation reflections/thoughts on la

The first seven minutes and thirty-two seconds of this post are some reflections on this virtual space that I continue to develop, and my path through self-publishing and attempts at Internet proliferation. From there on, I philosophize about the people’s resistance against ICE that has sparked in Los Angeles and throughout the country. It’s clear the people are fed up, but how do we ensure our major obstacles (anti-Blackness, ableism) don’t take away momentum from our movements? Stop by the Black Zine Fair’s Reading Room and stay for a spell to support Black publishing and receive some personalized spiritual knowledge (or a tattoo or get ur nails done!!), starting this Sunday, June 15th and ending Sunday July 13th. Admission is free with an RSVP at the aforewritten link. Sex Positivity Basics and Myths in the Hellish Sixth Wave of the Girl Boss

So, it is Taurus season. The sun and Venus are in my fifth house of pleasure, creative endeavors, and taking chances. Which is a long way of saying painhub is officially going to be a twice a month thing, because giving myself time feels better and also I need that time for the other projects that are suddenly sprouting up everywhere. Everything on planet Earth works the same. You sow something in the winter, it blooms in the spring. So if you want something to bloom by the fall, you sow the seed in the spring. And that’s what I am doing now. Sorry for more metaphors :/ but it’s like starting a fire, it needs so much more attention when it is baby, but once it’s gotten that momentum of oxygen and heat, you can let it alone until it needs tending to again. Painhub is a solid flame, I’d say. I have other fires I need to start, though. The posts that y’all like the most are the ones I dedicate more time to, anyway. So you will of course be hearing from me, with one paid and one free post a month, each of higher quality, density, and richness than weekly posts that I am writing all weekend in a rush (with paid posts including more audio, photos, and personal anecdotes). All that’s sure is change, remember? I also need to do some fairly hefty restructures to the setup of the blog (new bio etc) and I need time for that. Last year, I felt this intense urge to delve into the several creative talents I just kind of casually walk around with, but that stage of things was a lot of trial and error in finding what I could be consistent with, what I can afford, and what community. I would be placing myself into while still doing my day job to standard.I had an understanding that this skeleton of “normal” that mainstream society has chosen to prop up was one that was rotting from the inside, it f*****g smells. And it’s entirely unsustainable, like, the mta buses are flooding and people are just lifting their feet and filming to post it somewhere. Where is the moral panic for that? How many unknown people have to die from what’s become the everyday madness? Have humans also forgotten that we can’t breath under water? Have we forgot how fragile, fleshy, and armor-less we really are? I have to really work to not accidentally quit my job when I am writing this sometimes, because you never know who’s watching on this internet thing (another reason I am #switchingitup) so as usual I will make this disclaimer, because I’ll be damned if I get the rug pulled out from under me: OPINIONS PRESENTED ON THIS BLOG DO NOT REFLECT THAT OF MY EMPLOYER OR ITS AFFILIATES, smh. Anyway,I have the gift of being friends with the collective unconscious. We live together in the twelfth house, that’s why my writing can feel like “a punch to the gut” as one subscriber most kindly commented a few months ago. I say the things everyone is thinking out loud and I don’t mind being the scapegoat and/or clown because someone has to do it, and I was born blessed with the superpower of really not giving a f**k when I want to. Just because something makes you uncomfortable doesn’t mean its not true or otherwise deserving of consideration, I think that’s something the more modern version of our species is going to have to grapple with, actively. I think we have to grapple with actually talking to each other. One day, in the recent past, I realized I had to stop giving people the benefit that their thoughts are as complex as mine, because they probably are not, but I can help with that. This is one major inkling I received towards the practice of writing, doing so regularly, and letting people see it. Even more recently, this same line of thought has led me to believe I should develop an offering of teaching, this time about feeling, relating, and communicating through a sexual lense. Teaching about the most intimate form of creating (and no i don’t necessarily mean a baby i mean the sweet jelly that gets formed between you and a lover when you’re in the thick of it). Because no one is doing it right, but I can help with that. Teaching people how to give head in high school might actually end up doing me better than any f*****g degree. Hm. Today, I want to pivot a bit. I won’t say the blog is going to completely become about sex and love but now that I am typing it out I am like, “why would that be bad” so maybe it will, actually. Today I want to talk about Sex Positivity Basics and Myths in the Hellish Sixth Wave of the Girl Boss. @cele5tial_ on twitter and instagramCREDITSCreated, Hosted, Produced and Edited by Jupi Bowen :) This is a public episode.
