Episodes

  1. July 2025 thunder

Just a recording of a small part of a thunderstorm

  2. Test Project 1

I'm supposed to be preparing to present the workflow for this (unnamed) upcoming third-party app, but I got so engrossed in the simplicity of combining all the available loops and beats. I don't usually work that way (this is literally 21 tracks of all pre-made loops with some minor manipulation...

  3. Excerpt Of WIP Dub With Crap Snare

Very much a work in progress. Posting because I played it for my almost-12yo daughter and she asked "Why do you always make elevator music?" Much ouch. Oh, and from my own listening: the snare sounds like a staple gun.

  4. Frogs At 10pm

Noisy recording of frogs on the outskirts of our yard, at around 10pm during the last week of June

  5. Birds At 5:30am

It's noisy out here at 5:30 in the morning

  6. Eric Scissorhands - Eric Whitacre Choir patch

Don't mind me. :) I found it amusing that this was basically the instant early Danny Elfman Edward Scissorhands-era-type patch once you add reverb.

  7. Below The Root Parts 1 And 2

A bit movie soundtrack, a bit classic Diablo, a bit of ... well, who knows? :) Starts off with ambient soundtrack-type things going on, and then ventures into some classic Berlin school-type work, with a twist or two. Title is a bit of an homage to a game I used to play in 5th grade on the C64....

  8. 2019 - 10 - 16 - Snip - WIP (Incomplete)

Beginning segment of a track i'm messing with. Currently uses a Rhodes Chroma Polaris (most of the intro) and Behringer Odyssey (sequence and some drone stuff) Final track here: https://soundcloud.com/psychlist1972/polaris-c

  9. Polaris C

Berlin school track. Created with the Behringer Odyssey and Rhodes Chroma Polaris YouTube version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJWQkpvx8jk

  10. Robot Beach - Dreadbox Hypnosis Background Noise

Not music. I had to amplify the hell out of this. But this is the background noise with the Hypnosis set on some pretty extreme settings for output level, etc. Super cool. It's like an electronic beach.

  11. Calibrations IV: Wild Moog ASMR Mating sounds (the most boring thing you can do with 8 Moogs)

I asked Synth Memes what I should title this. There were a lot of replies, but Pierre-Alexandre Laberge, Johan Zeitler, and Jan Jansens won here, creating a title as enormous as this masterpiece :) This is not music. It's the sound of my 8 voice Moog Poly Phatty calibrating through a Dreadbox...

  12. Dub (incomplete and very WIP)

Not sure if I'll finish this one, so posting here for fun. Lots of effects: Valhalla, Eventide, iZotope, and more Drums from samples in Studio One Chords are my MKS-50/alpha Juno Bass is the Behringer D Not finished, mixed, mastered, etc.

  13. EX-8000 and D-550 big strings (just some random chords)

Messing around a bit, and forgot how nice it is to just stack some modules, dig into the reverb, and see what comes out. Not music, just some random chords.

  14. MS Commons Underground Garage Reverb Tail

Horn beep in the mostly empty HUGE underground garage at Microsoft Studios/Commons on Saturday May 25, 2019.

  15. Soundtrack 1 WIP

WIP soundtrack idea. Thought I'd post it in case I don't get around to finishing it. Mix is a bit muddy at the moment. Instruments used 2x Behringer Model D (low bass at beginning, and first sequence) 1x Roland D-550 [D-50 module] (strings) 1x Roland MKS-50 [Alpha Juno module] (later sequence) 1x...

  16. Wip 1212 Loop

Figured I'd render and post it in case it gets lost later :) A idea I'm noodling with. Nothing special and definitely nothing finished. Synths used: - Bass: Behringer D - High arp : Analogue Solutions Fusebox - Drums : Moog DFAM

  17. Dreadbox Modular Sequence (not music)

Not music. Just testing out the sound. 3 Dreadbox VCO modules, the Murmux filter, Dreadbox envelope for VCA. AJH synth envelope for filter. A little PWM on the lowest oscillator Magneto for delay. Recorded into audacity. No other effects.

  18. SH-7 Sample And Hold Fun (not music)

Messing around with the SH-7 Sample and Hold function. I use it on the filter, mess with the slew rate, and then also try it out on the oscillator pitch. Kept it on Random the whole time. Recorded into Audacity, though a Strymon Magneto

  19. SH - 7 Front Panel Exploration (not music)

Not music. Just messing with front panel. Oscillators, filters, ring mod, sample & hold, etc. Just got this synth. Needs some minor servicing (dirty pots, especially resonance). Still learning its ins and outs.

  20. Hybrid Horizon [Novation Peak Berlin Sequence / Demo]

YouTube video version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raZpmmfsm2I All sounds from Novation Peak. A couple presets, and some of my own stuff. Sequences done using on-board arpeggiator on the Peak, clocked from Studio One. Multi-tracked, of course. Very slight EQ and limiter after the fact, using...

  21. 2018 - 05 - 02 Hotel Jam

Working on something simple for a demo

  22. 2018-03-10 Excerpt

Short excerpt from something I'm working on. Hardware with a couple software effects, but using the DAW just to record the performance. Toraiz AS-1, Behringer D x2, Minimoog Model D, Moog Mother-32, DeepMind 12, and more. Drum is the mother-32.

  23. [WIP] Behringer D and DeepMind 12

Started off as a Berlin School track that started to get a bit lively, so turned it into something with more energy. Not yet finished. Tons of in the box effects, but only instruments used were my Behringer Ds and the Behringer DeepMind 12

  24. Big Behringer D Sweep

Big sound from a little box.

  25. Endless Ladders [Mother 32, Behringer D, Moog Model D Reissue]

A sequence I quickly recorded this evening. Enjoy with headphones or good studio monitors. Lots going on in the low-end here. No melody or anything, and minimal movement. Mostly just enjoying the sound of various ladder filters. Equipment used: 3x Moog Mother 32 (mostly the drone stuff) 2x...

  26. Moog Model D Drone

3 track drone I did with the Moog Model D and some tape echo effects.

  27. Fall rain (recorded sound)

Recording of the rain outside with some light processing.

  28. Analog Heat Filter test

Very short excerpt. Nothing complete. Just messing with the filter on the Elektron Analog Heat. Except from some noodling. Heat is on the drums. (Elektron Analog Rytm) Synth is Dreadbox Nyx

  29. I am the Computer

Gave a shot at something with a beat. Listen to it on something with decent low end -- the second half has quite a bit. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhuckXYxPHI HW Synths: Korg Monologue, Arturia Matrixbrute, Novation Bass Station II SW Synths: Plogue Chipsounds, and Plogue Chipspeech...

  30. DeepMind 12 Sequence

Messing around with the arps and sequences on the new DeepMind 12. Restricted myself to just presets. Multi-tracked in PreSonus Studio One on Windows 10, with no additional effects. All sounds as-is from the DeepMind 12

  31. Perigee

Both basslines: Dreadbox Erebus Higher sequence and lead: Yamaha CS-15 Strings: JD-800 Choir and radio: Omnisphere 2. Radio was processed with Plogue Chipcrusher. Misc synth: Korg Mono/Poly Sequencer: Korg SQ-1 Effects; Mostly Valhalla DSP Recorded in Cubase over a couple takes.
