Despite their riches and wealth, they lacked true spiritual wealth. The Lord warns them of their spiritual temperature and warns them that if they do not repent, He will expel them from His mouth! The letter concludes with an encouraging invitation to turn and seek the Lord. The church in Sardis had a reputation that appeared to be good, but beneath the surface, Jesus reveals that many of them are spiritually dead and that their works lack faith.
