by Prayas
Phir Se explores what it takes to rebuild your life after prison and protective custody. Re-entering society is far more than walking out of custody. It means finding a place to live, getting the documents that prove who you are, rebuilding relationships, finding work, and navigating a world that may not be ready to accept you back.Told through the experience of social workers, they take us inside the everyday realities of rehabilitation and reintegration. From prisons, courts and shelters to family homes, workplaces and government offices, we get to understand what it takes to start your life again, with opportunity, independence and dignity. This podcast is created by Prayas, a pioneering demonstrative project by the Centre for Criminology and Justice at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences that helps those who are caught in India’s criminal justice system.
