    The Reformatory

Come on in here and sit down, chile. Whew. This week we're talking about a book that's very heavy but when a story like this gets told- you take it in! The Reformatory by Tananarive Due, the queen herself, follows the story of a young boy caught in the web of his town's dark history and his survival of that town's infamous school for boys. This is historical fiction meets paranormal thriller and it's in a league of its own! This is based on a true story, so trigger warnings abound! We're discussing themes of white supremacy, racial violence, and similar topics, so please listen with care. This is probably the hardest episode we've recorded thus far. But the conversation is very important. So grab your drink (you gonna it, honey) and let's get into it. Shoot us a text, if you have any recs or comments! Our Vicious Oaths

Grab your drink and settle in, because this time we’re diving into Our Vicious Oaths by N.E. Davenport and for the first time ever… we didn’t finish the book before filming the episode 👀Between the cutthroat Fae politics, the grueling battles, and the kind of romantic tension that makes you want to scream into a pillow, we had thoughts. Join us as we break down Princess Kadeesha’s warrior energy and why King Malachi is officially our new favorite vengeful "morally gray" obsession. In this episode, we’re discussing:The Alliance: Was it logic or just pure chemistry? (Spoiler: It’s both, and it’s messy).Enemies to Lovers: Why passion hits different when you kinda hate each other. The Spice Meter: We’re rating the heat levels and how these two managed to stay focused on the mission while looking at each other like that.Political Intrigue: Navigating the Fae courts and the High King we collectively love to hate.Whether you’ve already finished the book or just want to hear us lose our minds over the enemies-to-lovers arc, tune in for all our thoughts, theories, and chaos before we head into our final episode before the mid-season finale Content warning: sexual discussionsShoot us a text, if you have any recs or comments!
