Or at least, we’re attempting to.This week, we’re diving into the worlds of astrology & numerology and using birth charts, numbers, and questionable amounts of confidence to psychoanalyze each other. Because apparently knowing someone for 30+ years isn’t enough — now we need the cosmos to weigh in.Are we actually compatible? Are our personalities written in the stars? Do our numbers explain why we are the way we are? Or are we just finding increasingly creative ways to justify our own personalities?Since we can apparently never discuss one topic without taking several scenic routes along the way, expect astrology, numerology, questionable conclusions, completely unrelated detours, and somehow… Mrs. Anglerfish. Episode 7 is here and we’re finally diving into The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas! After completing our journey through the Throne of Glass series, we are going back to where Celaena Sardothien’s story began. In this episode, we discuss the five novellas that make up The Assassin’s Blade and take a closer look at the experiences, relationships, losses, and trauma that shaped one of fantasy’s most iconic female main characters. While Celaena may only be sixteen in these novellas, she has already experienced more trauma than most people see in their lifetime. Come sit with us while we talk about the complicated relationships throughout The Assassin’s Blade, the impact of abuse and manipulation, and how Celaena’s experiences at such a young age shaped the person we meet at the start of Throne of Glass. Of course, because this is Plot Twists & Deep Thoughts, we also venture into some side tangents that only two lifelong best friends could somehow find to connect to traumatic character conversations.

We’ve made it to the final stretch of our Throne of Glass journey! Before we close out this series with Assassin’s Blade, we’re taking you through Tower of Dawn and The Kingdom of Ash. We are talking about the characters we loved, the choices that drove us mildly insane, the moments that broke our hearts, and some hot takes we’re still not over.
