Mr Bungle released their first demo in 1986. Three more demos were followed by three major record label albums. They played their last show on 9 September 2000. On 13 August 2019, it was announced that Mr Bungle would perform in February 2020. Original members Patton, Spruance & Dunn would be joined by Slayer's Dave Lombardo and Anthrax's Scott Ian to perform the first demo 'The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny' in its entirety. The songs show potential, the performances carry hints of talent, the inaudible lyrics are immature attempts at inevitable future genius and the overall audio quality is frankly, lousy. Recorded 28th April 1990, Faith No More were deep into tour commitments to promote The Real Thing, but with dates rolling into the following year, "You Fat Bastards" was released that August to satisfy the increasing demand for FNM material. Their only official live release, You Fat Bastards immortalised an exciting era for the band. The band's competency as musicians is on full display, Jim Martin is still on guitar and Mike Patton snaps his fingers in a unique way. All that, and more in this episode of Tangent Croissant.

A deep dive into Faith No More's third studio album, and Patton's first with the band - The Real Thing. Released 20 June, 1989 and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, The Real Thing is the album that catapulted Faith No More into the mainstream. With Chuck Mosley's destructive behaviour leading to his dismissal from the band, Gould, Bottum, Martin and Bordin forged ahead.
