    Politics Ink - Episode 7 Kevin 'Kal' Kallaugher

    Kevin Kallaugher (KAL) is an acclaimed political cartoonist for The Economist, The Baltimore Sun, and Counterpoint. A Harvard graduate, he became The Economist's first resident cartoonist in 1978, marking the start of a prolific career. KAL has published over 10,000 cartoons and illustrated 150 magazine covers, with his work featured in major publications worldwide, including The New York Times, Le Monde, and Time. KAL has received numerous accolades, such as the 2018 and 2002 Berryman Awards, the 2015 Herblock Prize, and multiple Overseas Press Club awards. He has also been a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2015 and 2020, solidifying his legacy as one of the world’s leading editorial cartoonists.

    My guest this episode is Alexandra Bowman. Alexandra is designer and writer and syndicated editorial cartoonist living in New York City. She’s a member of the National Press Club, the National Cartoonists Society, the Society of Illustrators, and the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists. (AAEC) And inaugural 2024 Locher Fellow - through the AAEC. She’s been a political cartoonist for the John Kerry and John Kasich-founded environmental organization World War Zero (formerly My Daily Planet), as well as the official political cartoonist for The Lincoln Project in 2020-2021, throughout the 2020 presidential election season.     Politics Ink Episode 5 - Angelo Lopez

    My guest today is Angelo Lopez, whose remarkable work has been featured in publications like Philippines Today, a Filipino American newspaper, and the Tri-City Voice, a Bay Area outlet. Currently, he is also creating pieces for display at Cartoon Movement. Angelo has received the Sigma Delta Chi Awards for Editorial Cartoons in both 2013 and 2015. Additionally, in 2016, he was honored with the RFK Book and Journalism Award for his editorial cartoons. His artistic style is profoundly inspired by the renowned muralists of the 1930s, particularly Thomas Hart Benton and Diego Rivera.
