Producing Strategies

We talk to Roise Goan, director of Dublin Theatre Festival about the practical challenges of being a producer in the realm of theatre, the economic issues in play, criticality, how administration can creative, and trusting audiences.

Frank and Sara from Space Forms talk about their production company and helping artists realise their projects. We discuss production-as-practice, working through materials, problem-solving and decision making. We also discuss their long-standing relationship with Ireland at the Venice Biennale (architecture and art) most recently fabricating work and infrastructure for Isabel Nolan's presentation Dreamshook (2026). 

We talk to curator Vivian Crockett about her curatorial work at the New Museum (New York) and the museum's Sixth Triennial, co-curated with Isabella Rjeille, Curator at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP).We consider curation as collaboration, mediation and a hustle in the context of crises in institutions.This conversation was organised as part of the IRELAND INVITES initiative.  

We talk to gallerist Amanda Wilkinson about running Amanda Wilkinson Gallery and her role in managing the estate of artist, filmmaker, author and activist Derek Jarman. Such activities involve building audiences and communities (particularly of queer and trans people) and strategies of production as processes of translation. Anita Reilly speaks about her work which includes disability advocacy and community programming and liaison. This work, centring around communication often intersects with artistic practices and approaches, including Augusto Boa's Theatre of the Oppressed. Fashion designer Cleo Prickett speaks about running her practice of a contemporary tailoring fashion brand, made 'in house' from her studio and home in the Liberties, Dublinhttps://cleoprickett.com/

Lian discusses working across different art forms, media and spaces, and how there is: "no dividing line between artist and arts worker in my practice".
