Seventeen-year-old Destry Allen was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head by his own father, Bart. Authorities ruled it a "pristine suicide" - but to Bart, and to several experts who later examined the case, almost nothing about the scene pointed to suicide. The subsequent investigation did little to resolve those questions. No autopsy was conducted, despite state law requiring one. No toxicology screen. No meaningful ballistics analysis. No testing of the blood evidence.
