107//Eternal Sunshine Of The Adult Baptism
This week, Mickey returns with a solo episode full of aggravation, unexpected detours, and stories that somehow get more ridiculous with every dead car battery. After fighting through technical difficulties (entirely self-inflicted) while getting this episode started, Mickey breaks down the car troubles that spiraled into multiple overpriced Uber rides, two trips to the mechanic, five days without a vehicle, and eventually riding the Suffolk County bus to work. Along the way, he encounters a passenger who was... on something... passionately complaining about the lack of luxury on public transportation. Somehow, all of this chaos leads to Mickey accidentally winning Jonas Brothers tickets on the radio—for a friend. He also vents about Hallmark, Shoebox, and every other greeting card company after discovering there is exactly one Baptism card... and one "Adult Baptism" card available in stores. Mickey shares his controversial thoughts on adult baptisms, explains how three different locations still couldn't solve his greeting card dilemma, why he ultimately settled on buying a Jewish celebration card as a joke and how he’s genuinely baffled by the endless supply of cards for absurdly specific occasions. Stick around for an Eternal Sunshine Tour recap to close out the episode. Mickey talks about what Eternal Sunshine means to him personally, why he connected so deeply with the album, the excitement leading up to the concert, and his confusion over the number of people who spent nearly the entire show recording it instead of experiencing it. And, of course, he recounts how a short Instagram comment somehow turned into an argument with what he assumes to be a very gay fan (or a she or they—the mystery remains). 106//For The Love Of The Game
This week, Mickey is back with a solo episode to discuss his most anticipated night(s) of the year: Rufus Du Sol at MSG! Join Mickey as he details how he spontaneously ended up at a second night of the concert after receiving a free ticket, scamming MSG security into letting him onto the floor, and inevitably ending up front row. He reflects on the emotion of seeing his favorite artists in one of the world's most iconic venues, staying sober to fully enjoy the show, his thoughts on the Innerbloom fans, and, of course, how much the music means to him. As the night continues, so does the story. After missing an event, Mickey heads to the Magic Hour Rooftop to do some networking and ends up befriending a group of law students, including Paul, the hot Asian with the nice chest, a straight who he fell in love with. The group eventually makes its way to Flaming Saddles, the only gay bar Mickey likes, during Pride Weekend, and the debauchery ensues—starting with a flight attendant becoming a new friend and ending with a strange encounter in the bathroom. Stay tuned until the end of the episode for a first-glance review (aka analysis based on TikTok concert footage) of the tours Mickey will be attending, his anticipation and excitement for the Eternal Sunshine Tour, and his thoughts on Pitchfork's scathing review of the Chris Brown album. 104//$999 Or Less, Allegedly
This week Mickey is back with a solo story-time episode, and this one is absolutely unhinged. After kicking things off with a recap of his grandfather's self-inflicted DMV and registration-renewal chaos, plus his own battle with canceling a mountain of streaming subscriptions, Mickey dives into what everyone came for: an unbelievable story about an ex. In this mind-boggling tale, Mickey recounts a surprise interaction with a manipulative and deeply unstable ex who suddenly resurfaces with an attempt to extort money from him. As the story unfolds, so does a wild history of lies, scams, and behavior so outrageous it sounds like it's been clipped from a Lifetime movie. Not to be confused with Hot Chocolate, who would never do such a thing, Mickey recounts this ex's colorful past of lunacy, including but not limited to killing his own father for the plot. This is a story you definitely don't want to miss, as this episode explores one of the most bizarre people Mickey has ever encountered. 94//I May Be A F@g, But I’m Just A Boy
This week, Mickey returns with a solo episode full of chaos. After ordering a late-night box from Taco Bell, he discovers that his Uber Eats driver is making the delivery on a bicycle—riding more than 10 miles to pick up and drop off the order. How long does it actually take someone to bike 10 miles? Tune in to find out. Mickey also dives into the madness of workplace conversations, from coworkers discussing their menstrual cycles on the Flo app (which he’s just discovered) to another coworker accidentally calling the police on herself after her child got ahold of her nicotine vape. Then, he shares not one but two DL encounters—because apparently exposing them is trending now. First, a DL from Mickey’s past who refuses to accept that Mickey is strictly gay and not interested in sleeping with his wife. Second, a tall, dark, and handsome DL who is—wait for it—24. Stick around until the end of the episode for a deep dive into the comeback of Danity Kane and fresh releases from Demi Lovato, Miguel, Ari Abdul, and Psylosia. This week, Mickey sits down with Brendan Abernathy, a talented singer-songwriter who, earlier this year, found himself at the center of a viral online hate train. Mickey and Brendan also dive into the release of his new album The Kid Who Got It All Wrong. Brendan opens up about his creative process, how much of his music is autobiographical, how he draws inspiration from others' experiences, his upcoming series of EPs (which will be recorded in various national parks), performing over 700 live shows, and so much more! ‘The Kid Who Got It All Wrong’ is out now, on all streaming platforms!
