The Beit Midrash was established by Rabbi David Yosef Shalita at the recommendation, direction and encouragement of his father, Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Zatzuk'l in 1956. The purpose of establishing the Beit Midrash was to train rabbis who would learn to pronounce Halacha for the people of Israel according to the rules of jurisprudence instilled by Maran Rabbino Ovadia and who will fill the positions of rabbinate and rabbinical judges after completing their studies. Indeed, to the joy of his son, over the years, graduates of the Beit Midrash have been appointed to high positions in the rabbinate and in the courts, in the State of Israel and abroad where they continue in the footsteps of Maran Rabbi Ovadia Zatzukal, and bring the hearts of their brothers closer The House of Israel to their Father in Heaven.<span style='color: rgb(0,0,0);fon
