Stop Shaming Mac And Cheese And Pass The Deviled Eggs

Send us Fan MailHoliday food debates get loud because they’re never really about food. They’re about memory, family, region, and that one dish you judge everyone on. We put all of that energy into a traditional holiday food bracket, and we come in with one big rule: turkey sits this one out. It already has a whole holiday and we’re here to fight over what actually makes the plate legendary. We seed the bracket with the classics and let the arguments fly: mashed potatoes versus cranberry sauce, carrots versus pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole versus deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts getting sacrificed to mac and cheese, and stuffing versus anything that dares stand in its way. Along the road we get into what makes a “real” holiday side dish, why pumpkin spice might be the most overrated seasonal trend, and how dishes like potato salad and mac and cheese change meaning depending on where you grew up. The second half turns into pure chaos in the best way, with a full-on crock pot debate, a passionate defense of stuffing and dressing as the most iconic Thanksgiving food, and a surprisingly heartfelt moment about a grandmother’s potato salad. After all the upsets and nostalgia, we land on a champion that feels inevitable and still worth arguing about. Subscribe, share this with the friend who always hosts, and leave a review with your personal final four.
