Midterms are 32 days out, and the White House is moving on two fronts at once.   President Trump headlines a midterm rally tonight at the Mitchell Center on the University of South Alabama campus in Mobile. Doors opened this afternoon. He is stumping for Tommy Tuberville in the governor's race against Doug Jones and for Barry Moore in the Senate race. Alabama is deep red, but the stop sits next to the redrawn 2nd District, where Republicans are trying to flip a seat. Election Day is November 3.   On Wednesday, the co-pilot of Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv stabbed Captain Smit Machar. The jet dropped roughly 17,000 feet before crew and passengers stopped the attack and the plane made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Israeli officials have called it an attempted terror attack. The UAE is still investigating motive. On Thursday, President Trump said that based on what he is hearing, Iran is linked, and that if Tehran is behind it, "they'll be hit very hard." Investigators have not publicly confirmed an Iran link.   On Tuesday, the Trump administration launched America.gov, an AI front door for federal services, and the president signed an executive order telling agencies to plug in. Passports, Medicare, and disaster aid are the early pitch. BLS says employers added 29,000 jobs in September, under the roughly 90,000 forecast, with unemployment ticking up to 4.2% from 4.1%. July and August were revised down by a combined 60,000. The press called it a miss. White House economic voices, including Kevin Hassett, called the inside numbers fine. Private payrolls rose 46,000 while government shed 17,000. Manufacturing added 9,000, and factory employment is up about 72,000 since December 2025. Labor-force participation jumped 0.2 point to 61.8%. Wayne opens by taking apart the late-September mainstream surveys that media outlets are selling as a coming Democratic wave. NYT/Siena had Democrats up about 8.5 points on the generic ballot. Fox News put the likely-voter lead near 11. Angus Reid had Democrats ahead by 16. Nate Silver's model had the generic lead around D+9.6, with Election Day set for November 3. Wayne's case is that these numbers repeat the same poll pattern voters have seen for years, and that the midterms are still in play. Wayne then goes to Roger Stone on Wayne's plan for a presidential national-security emergency on elections. The idea, which Wayne has pushed since the spring and which Trump has amplified, would go past the stalled SAVE America Act: photo ID, proof of citizenship, tighter mail-ballot rules, and paper ballots. They weigh whether it can actually be implemented this close to November 3, after Trump's earlier "stranger things have happened" response and repeated reposts of Wayne's columns. Stone breaks down the map and the playbook he expects from Democrats: ballot harvesting, drop boxes, machine voting, and late rule changes in states where the SAVE America Act never became law. The Supreme Court on September 25 let the expanded SAVE citizenship-check database resume for individualized checks, but that is not the Act, and systematic roll purges remain barred inside the 90-day window.
