Reflections on Life & Liberty

On the 25th anniversary of that horrible day, some in our country are carrying out the terrorists’ ends.

As we grow closer to God, we grow closer to each other.

“No one can serve two masters.”

We owe each other actionable truth, not hyped messages and skewed narratives.

I’d rather have good policy implemented by someone I dislike than see pro-citizen objectives left undone by people who claim to be our friends.

We too often look at the challenges ahead, wishing for what we do not have and disdaining what we do.

There can be no “good government” apart from our republic’s notion of self-governance.

Our ideals and aspirations, not grievances, are what define us.

The gooey, saccharine-sweet “niceness” pushed in culture is found nowhere in scripture; we’re called to something better.

The example of Sam Adams’ Committees of Correspondence reminds us of the power of an informed citizenry.

If self-government is to continue another 250 years, if liberty is to flourish, it will only be because of an engaged citizenry.

If we are to bring sanity to Congress, we must first exhibit sanity ourselves.

Individual liberty and personal freedom are not means to an end; they are ends in and of themselves.

“Let not your hearts be troubled.” 

Too many people choose to live in the heckler’s box because it is easier to lose.

Let’s pray, stay on guard, and be at work!

The citizenry has failed to inspire sufficient fear in our elected servants.

“Greater love has no one than this…”

The embrace of an expert class in America runs counter to 250 years of American philosophy.

Liberty will die on these shores only after we have killed it in our hearts.

Let us resolve to be more bold in our prayers for those who need it most.

Liberty is born from boldness. 

“You have never met a mere mortal.”

 A good teacher? Only if what He said is true.

The ancient crowds sought a fan fiction notion of messiah; what about you?

Europe has fallen; will we allow ourselves to be next?

Removing Christ from the calendar isn’t the flex academicians think it is. 

Most of us aren’t called to man the walls of an old church, but we are called to face a hostile world.

Even with political shorthand, you still have to know what you want.

Just ignore the people whose counsel you’d never seek.

We must bring the right kind of trouble to the ruling elite.

We can find peace by controlling ourselves.

It can be risky, but we are called to be faithful.

Whatever bad things one has to say about school boards are more appropriately directed at the citizens who elect them. 

Our only meaningful identity is in Christ and in Christ alone.

Jesus came not as He deserved but as we needed him.

Joy to the earth! The Savior reigns!

Some want the church to apathetically wave the white flag of surrender as the enemy struts unopposed through our streets. 

Wisdom is knowing when to shut up, when to speak, and when to act.

Every generation must shrug off the vestiges of socialism if we are truly thankful for liberty.

Our republic needs the light now more than ever.

A futile war and a path to peace.

Sometimes, you have no choice but to defend yourself.

As citizens, we must get better at separating the political wheat from the chaff.

There are 17 proposed constitutional amendments on this November’s ballot; ignore them at your peril.

Ignorance might be an amoral form of bliss, but the future of the republic rests on an informed citizenry.

Your rights are inconvenient to the whims of tyrants
