Reforged
by Seven
Reforged is not merely a podcast. It is an idea, and the idea is growing. Hosted by Nic "Seven" Coates, Reforged examines structured living under pressure: reentry, recovery, accountability, trauma, masculinity, fitness, introspection, and repair. The individual is not a passive product of damage, impulse, or history. In Reforged, the individual becomes the architect of their own correction. Formation under pressure. Evidence over narrative. This is Reforged. Ignore the anecdotes.

009 | Let it Breathe | Season One Finale
Season One of Reforged is complete. Not dead. Done.In this season finale, Nic sits down on camera for the first Reforged desk episode and reflects on what the first eight episodes have become: the origin record, the doctrine layer, and the canonical foundation of Reforged. This episode is about gratitude, correction, protecting the work, letting the podcast breathe, and using the runway now in front of us.The podcast is not going away. The message is not changing. But the rhythm is shifting.Season One was doctrine. What comes next is demonstration. The platform shifts. The mission does not.Same material. New purpose.Name it. Examine it. Correct it.Ignore the anecdotes. The idea is growing.#reforged402#ignoretheanecdotes#theideaisgrowing

008 - The Gods We Obey
What do you obey when nobody is forcing you?In this episode of Reforged, Seven examines religion, anti-religion, spiritual authority, childhood formation, secrecy, the Garden, dangerous knowledge, recovery, shadow, grief, identity, culture-as-costume, and the false gods men obey without naming. This is not an episode about telling every man what to believe. It is an episode about authority.A man can say he believes in God, but obey fear.He can say he is spiritual, but obey appetite. He can say he is atheist, but obey outrage. He can say he believes in nothing, but still kneel every day before approval, sex, grief, resentment, comfort, the algorithm, or the image of himself he refuses to let die.Reforged does not demand that every man adopt the same theology. But it does demand examination. What do you believe? What do you obey? What does it produce? What are you protecting from examination? This episode moves through Genesis, spiritual fragments, Gnostic curiosity, Jung, AA, prison, surrender, the Gate, religious hypocrisy, anti-religion, culture-as-costume, and the responsibility of becoming a governed man.The warning is simple:What you refuse to examine will still govern you.The god you will not name is still feeding. And the god you obey is already forming you.#reforged402 #ignoretheanecdotes #theideaisgrowing

007 - Addiction Is Not an Identity
Addiction is not an identity. In Episode 007 of Reforged, Nic examines the recovery language that formed him early, the role Alcoholics Anonymous played in helping him survive himself, and the deeper question recovery does not always finish asking:What is the man becoming? This episode is not anti-AA. It is not permission. It is not advice. AA played a crucial role in Nic’s life, including a vital spiritual experience that helped open the door to belief, prayer, meditation, and serious self-examination.But Reforged asks what happens after survival. This episode moves through childhood exposure to AA rooms, the Jung → Rowland → Oxford Group → Ebby → Bill Wilson lineage, the spiritual thirst underneath addiction, the problem of permanent label identity, sponsor overreach, court-card compliance, NA dilution, powerlessness as doorway rather than house, and the difference between abstinence, identity, neutrality, and government.Recovery helped me survive myself.Reforged helped me govern myself. The rooms taught me language. The forge taught me execution. The question is not whether you attend meetings. The question is whether you are actually doing the work. And the work is not only not drinking. The work is becoming true. This is Reforged.Ignore the anecdotes. The idea is growing. This episode briefly references research and public-health language around recovery, including AA / Twelve-Step Facilitation effectiveness, recovery definitions beyond simple lifelong abstinence, harm-reduction approaches for alcohol-use disorder, and broader recovery dimensions such as health, home, purpose, and community.

006 | Let’s Look at the Record
Episode 006 of Reforged examines the phrase:“You weren’t raised that way.”Nic Coates challenges the difference between what adults intended to teach and what a child actually absorbed from the record: absence, appetite, exposure, silence, humor, contradiction, culture, and repeated adult behavior. This is not a trauma dump or a grievance episode. It is a formation audit. The episode moves through childhood observation, family systems, satire as a survival lens, the missing lesson of preservation, prison as consequence, and Reforged as governed correction.Core question:What are you responsible for now?Mentioned: EkoTren — “Light The Fire”Spotify search link: https://open.spotify.com/search/ekotren%20light%20the%20fire

005 — The Runway: Where Reforged Was Built
What does correction look like after the explanation is over?In Episode 005, Nic traces how Reforged was formed through pressure, lived experience, legal conflict, accountability, Hope House, Kelly’s runway, the table, Trumaine, and the house becoming visible structure. This is not a grievance episode. This is not a victory lap. This is lived experience under evidence.Reforged does not invent the standards. The standards exist. Trust has requirements. Freedom has requirements. Fitness has requirements. Sobriety has requirements. Credibility has requirements.Reforged is the name Nic gave to the tools he used to heat the ore down enough to reveal what the standards were for him.Kelly gave runway, not rescue. The table became a place where men started talking. Trumaine became one of the first living receipts. The house became structure. The idea started growing.Core lines:Correction is not confession. Correction is construction.Runway is not rescue.Reforged was born after I stopped hiding. The function does not execute without the required inputs.Name it. Examine it. Correct it.Evidence over narrative. Ignore the anecdotes. The idea is growing.#Reforged402#TheIdeaIsGrowing#IgnoreTheAnecdotes#MensWellness#Reentry#Accountability#Discipline#LifeAfterPrison#Recovery#EvidenceOverNarrative

Monday Bellows 004 | Reforged
People are starting to reach out — mothers, family members of the incarcerated, men in reentry, people who work in reentry, people who understand that something is missing.I’m humbled by the response. It is encouraging to see Reforged being received, but it is also disheartening to see how badly this kind of work is needed.Things like this exist. But not quite in this form.Reforged is still forming. Still growing. Still being tested by evidence. The idea is growing.#Reforged402 #TheIdeaIsGrowing #IgnoreTheAnecdotes #reentry #accountability #menswellness #offparole #lifeaftercollapse #discipline #rebuilding

004 — The Man and the Machine
What good is an explanation if the machine still fails? In Episode 004 of Reforged, Seven continues the thread from The Boy and the Man and turns directly toward correction. The boy can explain the pain, the wound, the appetite, the shame, and the origin story — but the man is responsible for what all of that becomes.Using the motorcycle as the central image, this episode separates polish, maintenance, and correction. A machine gives signals before it fails. A man does too. The question is whether he keeps explaining the sound, or whether he finally stops, examines, and corrects what is failing. This episode digs into self-awareness as a hiding place, shame as a fence, dangerous men under governance, the body as a signal system, and the difference between being articulate and becoming trustworthy under speed.Explanation says, “This should not be happening.”Correction says, “This ends now.”This is Reforged. Ignore the anecdotes.

003 — The Boy and the Man
When did you become a man — and what part of you never got the message? In this episode of Reforged, Seven examines early formation, unfinished boyhood, appetite, abandonment, old alarms, masculine camouflage, and the adult responsibility that begins once a man can finally see the pattern. This is not an excuse episode. Trauma is real. Formation is real. The wound may explain the wiring — but it does not authorize the behavior. Pain is not a passport. Not your fault does not mean not your responsibility. The boy may have survived. The man still has to govern. This episode is a call to audit what formed you, what still runs you, who paid for it, and what evidence proves correction has begun.Ignore the anecdotes.

Monday Bellows 002 - Mirrors in Los Santos
Monday Bellows is the short breath between Reforged episodes — a field note from the work while the work is still happening. This week: a hostile GTA Online exchange turned into a real conversation, and somehow Reforged reached Tulsa. Then a Snapchat message turned into a 45-minute call with a man opening up about things he said he had never said out loud before. The Idea is Growing.Reforged is about accountability, reentry, recovery, emotional discipline, masculine introspection, personal responsibility, and the hard work of becoming someone governed from the inside out.In this week's full episode, we move into Before Choice Felt Like Choice. This is Reforged. Ignore the anecdotes.

002 – Clinical without Credentials
In Episode 002 of Reforged, host Seven examines what it means to speak with precision without pretending to hold clinical authority. This is not an anti-therapy episode. Not an anti-expert episode. Not a trust-your-gut manifesto. It is a reflection on disciplined observation, bounded credibility, evidence, humility, and the difference between noticing reality and diagnosing people.Clinical without Credentials asks a hard question:What gives a man the right to trust what he sees before an institution has certified his vision? The answer is not confidence, charisma, suffering, or intensity. The answer is curiosity, consequence, observation, pattern recognition, disciplined honesty, and limits. This episode traces the origin of that lens through childhood confusion, abandonment patterns, recovery, prison, work, and self-correction — without turning trauma into permission or experience into authority. The burden is simple:You do not need institutional permission to notice reality. But you do need discipline before you declare what it means. If this episode gives language to something real, follow Reforged and share it with someone who needs the work — not as a weapon, but as a door. This is Reforged. Ignore the anecdotes.

001 - This is Reforged
This episode is the origin of Reforged — the pressure, the collapse, the prison years, and the birth of The Gate Mentality. This is not a rescue story. Not self-help theater. Not a polished redemption arc built to make the past look prettier than it was.Reforged is about what happens when consequence becomes structure, when pain stops being an excuse, and when a man learns to build discipline from the very material that almost buried him.Same material. New purpose. If this episode gives language to something you’ve lived, follow the show. If you know someone rebuilding after fracture, send it to them — not as a weapon, but as a door. This is Reforged. Ignore the anecdotes.
