Often, our approach to rules is negative. However, the Law or commands that God has given are good. It can be difficult to see that apart from the Holy Spirit changing our hearts. As we dig into 1 Timothy 1:8-11, we see the goodness of God and the law that He has given.

As we jump back into our series: Entrust, we begin to walk through the first letter to Timothy. Like Titus, Timothy is a young pastor who is entrusted to lead a new congregation of God’s people that is being gathered together. In these first few verses, we see Apostle Paul’s reminder of the charge that Timothy has. However, the charge is not only for Timothy but for us.

Psalm 101 gives us a glimpse into David’s desire to live a life marked by holiness and integrity before the Lord. As we follow David’s repeated commitments to pursue holiness and reject evil, we also discover that neither David nor we can live this way in our own strength. Ultimately, this psalm points us to the greater King, Jesus Christ, who alone lived the blameless life we could never live and, through His saving work, enables His people to pursue a life devoted to God.

Psalm 112 uses the term "blessed" that we saw in Psalm 1. Again, we understand that Jesus Christ is the perfection of the Blessed Man, but what does it look like for us. This particular psalm is packed with loads of wisdom for us. Join us this Sunday as we unpack it.

There's a problem that plagues the world. Good always seems to struggle with evil, and evil always seems to have fun. All the while, we see that our good God is still near. Join us this week when we discuss this in Psalm 73.

Psalm 52 contrasts those who trust in temporary things with those who are rooted in the steadfast love of God. While the wicked may appear secure, God's judgment reveals the weakness of every foundation apart from Him. True flourishing comes from trusting God's unchanging character and patiently waiting on His promises.

A longing for understanding what eternity will be like can seem like an endless daydream. Yet, the Lord tells us that those who trust in Him will be with Him for all of eternity. Psalm 15 is the answer to a simple question – who shall dwell on your holy hill? This question in modern culture reads this way – who will make it to heaven. Join us this Sunday as we seek wisdom from the Scriptures.

Are you an optimistic or pessimistic person? It is good and right to be optimistic but not deny reality. Psalm 14 leans toward the negative reality but reminds the reader of who God is and that He will win in the end. Join us this week as we look to another Psalm of Wisdom.

Join us this week as we kick off our summer series in the Psalms of Wisdom. We look at Psalm 1 and ask, "Who is the Blessed Man that Psalm 1 speaks of?" Join us as we celebrate Christ together!

It is extremely easy to be distracted. Distractions come in all shapes and sizes and at different times. As a result, Christians must be watchful and stand guard, to not become distracted by ungodly things. Paul reminds Titus of this as he concludes his letter to the young pastor. This Sunday, we’ll dig into the end of this letter and seek to be fully devoted to the Lord.

The Scriptures speak of grace and work, but which one is it that saves us. A surface reading might lead you to lean towards one or the other depending on which text you’re reading. However, Titus 3:4-7 seems to be clear that it is grace that justifies us not works. We hope that you’ll join us this Sunday as we mine the depths of this Scripture.

In the final section of the letter to Titus, we see the continuation of what began at the beginning. Apostle Paul has challenged young Titus to do the work of gathering and discipling people. Those people are to grow and disciple others, and now, those same people are be reminded of certain things. Titus 3:1-3 speaks direct reminders that also apply to us. Join us this Sunday as we start to land the plane on this letter.

Teaching what accords with sound doctrine is the responsibility of the believer, but how and when do we do this? Titus 2:2-10 gives us multiple arenas in our lives to do the work of discipleship. Join us this Sunday as we continue in our series: Entrust.

As Apostle Paul continues to exhort Titus, he speaks of sound doctrine. Quickly, the reader is led to wonder what this is. As we dig into chapter 2 of Titus, we’ll flesh this out over the next few weeks. This week, we will look at the bookends of the chapter with verses 1 and 15. In just these two verses, Paul gives us a pretty good idea of what sound doctrine is. Join us on Sunday as we wrestle with the Scriptures.

Again, we see a crowd following Jesus. In Matthew 20:29-34, there are two blind men on the roadside as the crowd approaches. Interestingly, Jesus doesn’t say anything to the crowd but addresses these two individuals. As we dig into this text on Sunday, ask yourself this question: are you part of the crowd or are you crying out to Jesus?

As we celebrate the empty tomb, we’ll look at another resurrection. In Luke 7:11-17, we see Jesus interrupt a funeral of a widow’s son. Jesus saw her in her brokenness and instructed her not to weep before performing a miracle. While a miracle like this was unique, the compassion that Jesus showed is consistent with His character.

When we think of cleanliness, we often think externally. In Mark 1:40-44, we see an individual who was outwardly unclean due to leprosy. The culture would have seen lepers as unclean which would have kept them from entering the temple and approaching others. However, in this text, Jesus shows compassion and acts counter culturally.

When looking at a familiar text, it can be easy to miss certain details. One detail glaring us in the face in Matthew 9:35-38 is that Jesus had compassion on the crowd before he told the disciples to do anything. Yes, Jesus tells the disciples that the harvest is plentiful, but the reason is found in his gut level compassion that he has for the people. This is the same feeling that we should have for those that are lost.

We all realize that not everyone believes the truths of Scripture. There are some who are indifferent or polite in their disagreements, but what about those who are hostile towards the Scripture. Paul warns Titus that he will encounter those types of individuals. As we dig into Titus 1:10-16 this week, we’ll wrestle with what it means to rebuke others in the right way so that we might have sound faith.

What are you able to do and how will it increase productivity? These are often questions used to evaluate the effectiveness of a leader. However, the Scriptures tell a different story. In Titus 1:5-9, Paul instructs Titus about the character that he should look for in potential leaders. Join us this Sunday as we dive into the text.

While the Pastoral Epistles (1 & 2 Timothy; Titus) are written to young pastors, the contents of the letters are for all disciples. As we begin our series: Entrust, we’ll start with the letter to Titus. The Apostle Paul writes this letter to a young pastor in Crete. In our first sermon, we’ll dig into Titus 1:1-4 to see the reason why the letter applies to all of us who are following Jesus.

We can agree that God has a Mission and that He has given that to the Church. The question is how does the Church fulfill the Mission of God? If you use the church at Antioch as a case study, there are some clear principles that we see in the life of the people. This Sunday, we’ll wrap up our series: From the Block to the Nations digging into Acts 13:1-3. We pray that you’ll join us.

In the revelation that God gave to John, there was a multitude worshipping God from every tribe, tongue, and nation. In the end, the nations will be present, but how if the Gospel doesn’t go to them? Going back to Genesis, we see God’s call of Abram that began all of this. Join us on Sunday as we dig into Genesis 12.

We took a look at Colossians 1:24-29 in talking about making maturity our aim while enduring suffering, pursuing the depth of the scriptures, living & leading with our affections for Christ, and laboring in his energy. Do you desire for others to know the Lord as you do? Maybe you do but don’t know how. As we dive into Psalm 22:27-28, we see that David had for the nation of Israel to know and submit to the Lord. With our focus on missions, this should be our desire as well. Our prayer is that you would gather with us this Sunday to worship the Lord.

As culture progresses and communities change, one of the changes that has been seen in years past was the creation of backyard living. Many Americans now find their car inside the garage which they leave in the morning and return to later in the day. Front porches have been replaced by elaborate back porches and backyard fortresses. However, participating in the Mission of God means that we leave our backyards to reach the block that we live on. Join us this Sunday as we look at Isaiah 25:1 to kick off Missions Month.

When an individual trust in the Person and work of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, they receive salvation and their eternal position is changed. From that moment until physical death, the believer now walks a life of sanctification in which he/she is being conformed into the image of the Savior. During that process, character and behavior begin to change. As we bring this series to a close, we'll look at one of those character traits (humility) that changes throughout one's life.

As impossible as it is to separate the deity of Christ from the humanity of Christ, it is equally impossible to separate the Person of Christ from the work of Christ. Last week, we saw our need to boast only in the Lord. This week, we see that the reason that we do that is not only because of who He is but what He has done. Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross in our place is the reason that we can boast in Him! Join us this Sunday as we do that.

Many church goers would tell you that Jesus should be the most important Person in your life. However, that might only be true for them in the context of church activity. The Scriptures paint a different picture; one of beauty and adoration. The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians reminding them of the majestic nature of God with the disclaimer that they(Christians) should ONLY boast in the Lord.

When we behold something glorious or magnificent it should change us. When you hear on the news that something wild has happened, you tell someone about it. How much more important is our response to the glories of Christ, once we behold them? Join us as we begin the new year with our series Making Much of Christ!

John the Baptist was questioned often who he was, and he replied that he was the forerunner. He was the one to prepare the way for the coming King, but when would he arrive? The Apostle John records for us in John 1:29-34 Jesus entering the scene, and the forerunner is there to announce him. The Lamb of God had arrived, which changes everything!

Not only is Jesus the Light of the World, but He came to us! John makes clear in John 1:14-16 that the Word who was in the beginning is the Christ who came in flesh. Join us on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birth of Christ!

In John 1:6-8, there is a break from speaking about the Light to speaking of the one who came before him. John the Baptist was a witness to the Light of the World, which is the same responsibility that followers of Christ have today.

From the first words of his gospel account, you know exactly where John stands theologically. John uses similar language to that of Genesis 1 to identify Jesus as God and Creator. This means that the Light of the World has been shining from the beginning!

All is vanity. It has been the theme of Ecclesiastes throughout 11 chapters, so how do we finish. The writer gives us the final response to all that he has experienced in life. The application seems simple, but is it? Join us on Sunday as we finish Don’t Waste Your Life by looking at Ecclesiastes 12:1-14.

At Restoration Church, we value intentionality. It’s key to who we are, but to be intentional is to live in the way that God desires. If we are to live in eternity with Christ, then we should live now as if eternity exist! To live with intentionality is to live backwards. Join us on Sunday as we look at Ecclesiastes 11:5-10 to discover the way to do this.

Success is thought of in different ways in different context. The key is thinking about success in the way that God does. Ecclesiastes 10:5-11:4 speaks of success as being related to investment. To think and operate in this manner is difficult, but to do so gives God all the glory!

We live in a very noisy culture; this is something new to us. However, many of us seek answers amid the noise. In normal fashion, the Bible says the opposite. As we’ll see in Ecclesiastes 9:11-10:4, wisdom is often found in the quiet away from all the noise. Join us Sunday to dig into this text and discover the still, small voice of God in the quiet.

As Ecclesiastes continues, the writer becomes more and more practical in his writings. In this week’s text, Ecclesiastes 8:14-9:10, there is a reminder of what has been said from the beginning. However, he takes an interesting approach by utilizing certain life examples. Join us this week as we continue to lean into the Scriptures.

I think many of us would admit that respect is something that has changed in recent generations. Not just respect for authority (i.e. parents, teachers, police, etc.) but within the Church. In Ecclesiastes 8:1-13, the writer speaks of obedience to the king’s (earthly) commands. For understanding, we must go deeper than the surface, which is what we’ll do on Sunday.

Ecclesiastes 5:8–6:12 shows us that chasing “more” — more money, more success, more recognition — never truly satisfies. Wealth can vanish, achievements fade, and even great blessings feel empty without God. But when we seek Him first and live in His presence, we find the joy, peace, and contentment our hearts are longing for.

We live in a world in which we are inundated with distractions but is there anything that we can do about it. The Scriptures give us clear direction in regard to devotion and who we should be devoted to. As we continue Don’t Waste Your Life, we’ll dig into Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 to tackle the need to eliminate distractions.

We live in a world completely affected by the reality of sin. We know this, but what do we do about it. The Apostle Paul reminds the Ephesians that there is a battle but not against flesh and blood. We, too, must remember this as we dig into Ecclesiastes 4 this week.

As we continue our journey through Ecclesiastes, we see that the writer becomes rather blunt in Eccl. 3:16-22. In this text, we discover that the end is truly inescapable, so what are we to do? Join us this Sunday to find out.

What started as a seed planted by God has grown into a thriving testimony of His faithfulness over six years of ministry. This Plantiversary, we're celebrating how God has orchestrated divine appointments, raised up leaders, and restored lives through your faithful obedience to His call. Drawing from Jesus' promise in Matthew 16:18 that "the gates of hell shall not prevail" against His church, we're reminded that your faithful labor—every act of service, every prayer, every investment in God's kingdom—produces exponential, eternal fruit as part of something truly unstoppable.

Work is probably something that you have a love/hate relationship with. We often enjoy the benefits of our work but not the act of it. Ecclesiastes as already mentioned our work (toil) multiple times, but in 3:9-15 we take a deeper look. What does the Scripture say our relationship with work should look like. There are some experiences in our lives that we desire to last longer than they do, but there are probably others that we hope would end sooner. Regardless of what the “season” is, there is a life span to each that we encounter in our lives. Ecclesiastes speaks to many of these in the next message of “Don’t Waste Your Life.”

As we begin to move into specific areas of life, the Preacher of Ecclesiastes utilizes the phrase “striving after wind.” Not a typical phrase that we would hear in modern culture, but a reality that many of us probably find ourselves in. What is my purpose? What is the meaning of life? These are questions that you have probably encountered at some point in your life, but what is the answer? The book of Ecclesiastes answers this question and many others by saying “Don’t Waste Your Life!” We’ll kick off this new series on Sunday.

The Bible uses the word "holy” over 600 times! Have you ever thought about what that means? What are the implications of God’s holiness and how does this tell us to worship? As we end our short series in the Psalms this week come join us expecting to experience the holiness of God!
