Rise Up: The Inner Work with Vicky Ross
by Vicky Ross
Rise Up: The Inner Work with Vicky Ross is a podcast for anyone who knows there is more to them than the patterns they keep repeating. In each episode, Vicky brings together three decades of experience in human behaviour, neuroscience, emotional mastery, identity, and the deeper spiritual and energetic layers that shape our lives. This is a space to slow down, hear yourself differently, and understand why you think, feel, and behave the way you do — and how to shift it.Through stories, insights, and real-life anonymous sessions, you’ll explore the beliefs, paradigms, conditioning, and internal narratives that quietly direct your life. You’ll learn how awareness, understanding, and unlearning create space for something new — a life that aligns with who you truly are. This is not about motivation. It’s about remembering your power, your truth, and the part of you that knows what you want is available to you. When you understand your inner world, you

When You Know Something's Off But Can't Explain It
Send us Fan MailYou know that feeling. Something's off. You can't name it. You've thought about it, talked about it — and it's still... there. This episode is for the intelligent, self-aware person who has done the work, and yet something underneath remains unmoved. In this episode, I share a method I developed called Quantum Alignment of Consciousness — a process that bypasses the thinking mind entirely to access what your body already knows, what your system already knows, what the energy field around you already knows. Because if the issue sits beneath your awareness, you genuinely cannot think your way to it. And the harder you try, the more the ego — your gatekeeper — pulls you back to what is familiar. This method came to me intuitively during a session in Greece. When we finished, my client said: "This is the best method I have ever experienced. Why aren't you putting this out into the world?"So here it is.In this episode you'll discover:Why more thinking is often the very thing keeping you stuckHow the ego acts as a fear-based gatekeeper to your unconscious mindThe step-by-step process of Quantum Alignment of ConsciousnessWhat happens when meaning is removed — and resistance dissolves with itHow people leave sessions with clarity, direction, and resolution — often after years of tryingSometimes the answer isn't more thinking. It's removing the interference so you can see clearly what is already there.🔗 Work with Vicky: Rise Up Membership📖 Connect with Vicky: Instagram#PersonalDevelopment #SelfImprovement #PersonalGrowth #SubconsciousMind #MentalHealth #FeelingSuck #QuantumConsciousness #Mindset #TransformationalCoaching #RiseUpPodcastSupport the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research. It is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice and does not replace professional support. The language used is descriptive and reflective, not diagnostic. Not everyone will resonate with these ideas — and that is completely okay. You are responsible for your own interpretations, decisions, and the changes you choose to make in your life. Here is to your successLoveVicky

What a Wonky Carrot Taught Me About Starting Over in Life- Rise Up Story with Will Thomas
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when the life you carefully built — the relationship, the identity, the sense of security — is ripped away all at once?My guest today is Will Thomas: coach, hypnotherapist, academic, author, and one of the most quietly extraordinary humans I know. And in this conversation, he does something brave — he tells the truth. Will's story begins in 1970s London, where growing up different meant learning to keep secrets. It winds through the happiest day of his life, a cycling accident that stole his short-term memory for a year, a marriage unravelling, a devastating betrayal — and a strange moment of calm in the middle of all of it, where a voice simply said: "Everything unfolds perfectly."And then there was the wonky carrot.Found in a greengrocer's during one of his hardest weeks, this misshapen, ridiculous-looking vegetable made him laugh — and then made him soup — and eventually became the seed of an entire philosophy: the perfectly wonky life.In this episode, Will shares his STICKA framework — the six principles that helped him rebuild self-trust from the ground up: Spiritual silence, Trust, Intuition, Creativity, Knowledge, and Agility. We also talk about the very real shame of being a therapist who hits rock bottom, the difference between intuition and ego chatter, and why your emotions really are like two-year-olds who will not be ignored. If you've ever had the life you planned fall apart — and wondered whether you could trust yourself to find the way through — this one is for you.To see more of Will Thoma's work, follow this link. 50% discount on Will’s Perfectly Wonky Life Course for Rise Up followers with ‘Spring26’ discount code applied at checkout: https://willthomascoaching.com/products/the-perfectly-wonky-life-introductory-courseValid until 30th April Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

Told She Had 6 Weeks to Live — Here's What She Did Next — A Rise Up Story with Charlotte Phelps
Send us Fan Mail“You’re fine” can be one of the most dangerous phrases a person hears when their body is clearly struggling. I’m joined by Charlotte Phelps, founder of The Alchemy of Being, to unpack her rise-up story from high-achieving banking life in London to a health crisis that culminates in a terrifying warning: her gut may rupture within weeks. What follows is not a neat wellness slogan, but a grounded, human account of what it takes to keep pushing for answers when symptoms are real and tests keep landing in the “normal range”.We talk about the long build-up: insomnia, hives, digestive breakdown, pain, and the quiet stress of managing your life around your body. Charlotte shares how an unconventional biofeedback session points to a specific parasite that traditional routes miss, and how functional medicine testing helps her finally understand the gut health, hormone health, thyroid and adrenal stress connection behind what she’s experiencing. Alongside the medical journey, we explore the emotional reality of overachievement, the limiting belief of “not good enough”, and why a crisis often becomes the moment we finally choose ourselves. We also get practical and philosophical: why self-advocacy matters, how stress isn’t just “in your head”, why sleep can be more healing than another workout, and how even the wellness world can slip into comparison and one-upmanship. Charlotte explains what she built with The Alchemy of Being: a curated wellness hub and “wellness wiki” to help people find credible options and a starting point before they hit breaking point. If this conversation shifts something for you, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s been told they’re “fine”, and leave a review so more people can find these stories. Well Done, You Just Argued With Yesterday
Send us Fan MailYou can do everything “right” and still feel like nothing shifts. That’s usually the moment to question the hidden assumption behind how you’re responding to life. I’m Vicky Ross, and today I’m sharing a perspective that can stop the frustration loop mid-spin: when you react to what you see, you’re often reacting to something that’s already finished. What looks like “current reality” is frequently the result of earlier thoughts, feelings, expectations and unconscious patterns finally showing up on the outside. We break down the inside-out sequence I teach through an NLP lens: thoughts create feelings, feelings drive actions, and actions create results. If you only fight the result, you’re trying to change what has already been created. Instead, we use the outside world as a calibration tool. The way people respond to you, the outcomes you keep getting, even the triggers that set you off can become data. Not to blame yourself, but to reclaim choice. When you shift who you are being, your response changes, and the ripple effect reaches your behaviour, your energy and your results.I also give you a simple practice for the next time something winds you up: pause, ask what you’re assuming, and decide whether that assumption is helping you or repeating you. If you’re ready to stop “fixing” life and start creating it, press play, then share what you notice. Why Smart People Make Bad Decisions Under Pressure
Send us Fan MailPressure can make even the smartest person sound unclear, act defensive, or rush a decision they would never make on a calm day. I’m Vicky Ross, and I’m digging into the real reason: when stress rises, your nervous system shifts into protection mode, and your world literally narrows. You don’t see more options, you see fewer and that’s when “I wasn’t thinking straight” becomes your default explanation. We walk through a simple but powerful model of human behaviour: a thought becomes important, you attach meaning, meaning sparks emotion, emotion creates body chemistry, and that chemistry drives your behaviour. Once you understand that loop, you can stop blaming willpower and start building awareness. I explain why you’re not reacting to situations, you’re reacting to your interpretation, and how a short pause can interrupt the cycle long enough to return to clarity, intention, and choice. From there, we bring it into leadership communication: state before strategy, regulating before responding, and why tone and nonverbal cues often land louder than the words you choose. I also share how meetings derail when outcomes are unclear, and why psychological safety is essential if you want honesty instead of polite agreement and silent resentment. If you want to lead under pressure with calm authority, better decision making, and clearer communication, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

How Pain Forced This Man to Finally Live — A Rise Up Story with Charles Taymor
Send us Fan MailA life of comfort can hide a brutal truth: if you never have to stretch, you never learn what you are made of. I’m Vicky Ross, and I’m joined by my long-time friend Charles Taymor for a raw Rise Up story that starts with extreme privilege, runs through bereavement, betrayal, and financial collapse, and lands in a hard-won philosophy of responsibility, integrity, and rebuilding.Charles talks about the moment everything changed after his father died, when legal battles and “vultures” turned family life upside down and forced him to grow up fast. We unpack the real pivot point he names so clearly: the pain of his circumstances finally exceeded his fear of changing. From there we explore how mindset, perception, and self-leadership are not abstract ideas but daily practices, shaped by what you choose to focus on, what you stop blaming, and what you decide to own.We also go deep on career change, the corporate hamster wheel, and what it takes to leave work that pays the bills but drains your spirit. Charles shares why he stopped measuring success only by money and started measuring it by integrity and meaning, plus the coaching questions that cut through fog: “Is what I’m doing getting me the outcome I want?” and “Whose expectations am I trying to meet?” We discuss NLP, hypnosis, and rapid change work, and why discomfort and negative emotion can be healthy fuel rather than something to instantly numb.If you’re searching for resilience, a clearer definition of success, or a practical push towards “life on your terms”, this conversation will give you both insight and tools. Subscribe, share this with someone who feels stuck, and leave us a review: what would you change if you stopped waiting to feel ready? Some info about Charles: Charles Taymour originates from a corporate background and has been a development and progress consultant since 2003. The Hidden Message Behind Your Sadness (Most People Miss This)
Send us Fan MailWhy do we feel sad… and what is sadness actually trying to tell us?In this episode of Rise Up, Vicky Ross explores the deeper mechanics behind sadness — one of the most misunderstood human emotions.Sadness often appears when something meaningful in our lives changes, ends, or fails to unfold the way we expected. But sadness is not simply something to “get over.” It is an emotional signal that something important has shifted. In this episode, Vicky explores:• How to recognise sadness in your life • Why sadness sometimes follows failed expectations • The difference between sadness and grief • Why anger can sometimes hide sadness • The beliefs that often sit underneath sadness • How understanding sadness can lead to emotional freedomSadness is not an enemy emotion. It is often a messenger pointing us toward something meaningful about our expectations, our beliefs, and our relationship with life. And when we understand that message, something begins to soften. If this episode resonates with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

The Surprising Reason Therapy Alone Won't Heal You — Rise up Story with Ben Barnett
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Rise Up and Live, Vicky is joined by holistic therapist Ben Barnett for a thoughtful and deeply human conversation about healing, personal transformation, and the wisdom of the body.Ben has spent more than 30 years working in holistic therapy, combining physical bodywork with energy work, coaching, and a deep understanding of how our emotional experiences shape the way we live in our bodies. As a Reiki Master Practitioner, auricular acupuncturist, and specialist in therapeutic bodywork, his approach goes far beyond simply treating symptoms.Together, Vicky and Ben explore what it really means to heal beyond the surface. They discuss how early childhood experiences can quietly shape our beliefs, relationships, and sense of self, and how many of the patterns we carry into adulthood began as strategies to help us survive emotionally difficult environments. In this conversation you’ll hear about:• how the body often reveals what the mind tries to hide • the emotional patterns that can shape relationships and identity • why healing is not about fixing something that is broken • how awareness allows us to release old patterns and create new possibilities • the difference between trying to heal the past and transforming the presentBen also shares his own Rise Up story — the personal insights that changed the way he understood himself, his relationships, and the way he works with clients today. This is a conversation about awareness, compassion, and the powerful realisation that many of the struggles we carry may have begun with ideas about ourselves that were never truly ours.If you want to follow Ben or get in touch with him, here are his social media links:https://www.instagram.com/ben_barnett_htbb?igsh=bjRmdzFuOXQwOWo1https://www.facebook.com/share/1DUx8d8K4p/https://youtube.com/@htbybenbarnett?si=iCVPKVjt7cCtUXEUAnd for access to Alchemy of Being:https://thealchemyofbeing.me/Referenced in this episode:Ben mentions a powerful video illustrating how early experiences shape behaviour and self-soothing patterns. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/XY9vY1dh7n8Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

If You Could Choose a Life to Live... Would You Choose the One You've Got?

They try to regulate their emotions. They push themselves to build better habits. But what if the real issue isn’t you? What if the real question is whether the life you're adapting to was ever consciously chosen in the first place? In this episode of Rise Up, Vicky Ross explores a powerful and uncomfortable question:If you could choose a life to live… would you choose the one you’ve got?Together we explore:• Why people often try to change themselves to fit a life that doesn’t align with them • How childhood meaning-making shapes identity and life choices • The difference between the protective voice of fear and the deeper voice of truth • Why wanting to “do nothing” may actually be a sign of mental exhaustion • The reflective questions that can help you reconnect with the life you would truly chooseThis episode invites you to pause, reflect, and ask yourself a deeper question:Are you trying to improve yourself… or are you trying to survive a life that doesn’t fit you?If this episode resonates, you’re warmly invited to explore these ideas further inside Vicky’s membership community.Links are in the show notes.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

What To Do When You Genuinely Don’t Know What To Do With Your Life

You’ve built something responsible. You’ve achieved things. And yet a quiet question appears:How did I get here?In this episode, Vicky explores why feeling lost is rarely about lacking direction — it’s about losing connection with who you truly are. You’ll discover:Why many people feel unfulfilled after achieving what they thought they wantedHow childhood expectations quietly shape the life we buildThe difference between external success and inner alignmentWhy you can’t actually “lose yourself”A powerful shift that helps you reconnect with direction and purposeIf you’ve ever felt like you’re going through the motions rather than living your life intentionally, this conversation may help you see yourself — and your path — differently.Because feeling lost is not failure.Sometimes it’s the moment you start remembering who you really are.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

The Real Reason You've Stopped Trusting Yourself
Send us Fan MailWhat if the thought isn’t the starting line? We dig into the deeper engine of change: the importance you assign to ideas, how meaning becomes identity, and why clarity and self-trust transform behaviour more reliably than forcing habits or chanting affirmations. This is a practical, compassionate guide to seeing the hidden choices shaping your life and shifting them without drama. We start by challenging the common loop of results, actions and thoughts, asking instead: what made that thought important? When importance sets, it organises perception, narrows or widens what you notice, and quietly shapes your identity. From there, we explore how childhood meanings — often borrowed from other people’s fears — still run adult choices. You’ll hear why we do what we want rather than what we need, why “positive thinking” often signals unmet pain, and how fear hides in believable phrases like “I forgot” or “I don’t know,” stalling growth while sounding reasonable. Then we move to the lever that actually shifts behaviour: trust. Quiet self-trust calms the nervous system, widens perception, and makes new actions available without force. We ground this in evidence from your own life — the hardships you’ve already survived — and show how remembering your resilience changes what you make important today. You’ll learn a simple, repeatable practice: notice one behaviour without fixing it, complete the sentence “this means X because Y” to reveal your drivers, and ask, “if I trusted myself, what would I do differently here?” These micro-shifts soften identity and update action naturally.Along the way, we connect language, personality and results: the way you speak to yourself becomes the world you move through. Awareness precedes choice; when you can see the thought before it becomes emotion and hear the tone before it becomes identity, you no longer need pressure to change. You need clarity. If this sparked a pause, a new question, or relief, share it with someone who might need it, and subscribe, rate and review to help more listeners find it. Ready to go deeper? Why You Keep Doing What You Don’t Want to Do
Send us Fan MailEver feel like your habits have a mind of their own? We dig into why repeated patterns persist even when you’re determined to change, and why willpower is the wrong place to start. Instead of flogging yourself for weak discipline or shaky motivation, we map the hidden chain that drives behaviour: the thought you mark as important, the internal dialogue it triggers, and the body state that locks it in.We unpack how the unconscious treats vivid thoughts as real, how mood flips your self-talk from resourceful to ruthless, and how physiology aligns with the story you’re telling yourself. From skipped workouts to last‑minute tax panic, we show why action-only fixes fail: you’re pushing on the final domino. You’ll learn fast, practical ways to break the loop by changing state first—posture shifts, slow breathing, movement, even a splash of cold water—to weaken the cycle and buy space for a better choice. Then, with the body calmer, you can examine the thought, edit the language, and choose the next smallest step that actually sticks. We also share why emotions are essential for decisions, how precision language reduces threat, and why journaling works as evidence rather than just therapy. You’ll see how your phrasing reveals hidden rules, learn to test absolutes, and design supports where change begins, not where it ends. We close with a look ahead to part two: fear, identity, and why positive thinking only works under certain conditions—and what to do when it doesn’t.If this resonated, subscribe and leave a quick review to help others find the show. Congratulations, You Escaped Your Cage And Built The One Next Door
Send us Fan MailWhat if the hardest parts of your past didn’t define you, but the meaning you gave them did? We dig into the quiet mechanics of interpretation—how the mind assigns stories to keep us safe, why those stories become identity, and how to step out of a prison built from protection. Without minimising loss or trauma, we show how to separate the fact of an event from the lens that formed around it, and why that lens can be revised when you’re ready to live from power rather than fear.Together we trace the journey from survival meaning to sovereignty. You’ll hear why two people can share an experience and carry away entirely different lives, how the nervous system craves order, and how memory can trick the body into reacting as if the past is still present. We challenge the tempting bypass of nothing matters—a stance that looks enlightened but simply swaps one cage for another—and offer a grounded alternative: collapse the limiting interpretation, keep the wisdom, and choose a meaning aligned with who you are now. This conversation is practical and deeply human. We ask the only question that cuts through labels: is what I’m doing giving me the outcome I want? If not, it’s time to re‑author the story: rebuild trust from the inside out, redefine safety as capacity plus boundaries, and make choices from your throne rather than from an old alarm bell. You are not the wound, not the ego defending it, and not the body reliving a memory. You are the awareness that chooses meaning—and that choice is where deliberate life design begins. If this resonates, join our Rise Up membership or work with us one‑to‑one to examine survival stories, dismantle unconscious meanings, and reclaim authorship from sovereignty. Send us Fan MailWhy do conversations go wrong — even when you’re sure you’ve explained yourself clearly? Most communication breakdowns aren’t caused by poor wording. They’re caused by stress, perception, and nervous system reactions. In this episode, Vicky explores why tone leaks state, how the brain distorts meaning under pressure, and why “better communication” is not a behaviour you can implement. You’ll discover:• Why people hear criticism when none was intended • How stress changes what we perceive • The hidden reason people disengage in relationships and teams • A simple three-layer framework to clean up misunderstandings • The one question that instantly reduces conflictThis episode is for anyone who wants to improve their relationships, leadership, influence, or emotional awareness.Because communication isn’t just about being right. It’s about creating understanding that actually lands. If you’re ready to go deeper into awareness, behaviour, and conscious living, you can explore Vicky’s Inner Circle membership community or book a discovery call via her website.🎧 Listen now and start changing the way you experience conversations.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

When Holding It Together Finally Breaks You
Send us Fan MailSo many people move through life appearing capable, calm, and in control — while underneath, something is quietly wearing them down.In this episode of Rise Up, I explore what happens when survival becomes a way of life. When “being strong” turns into holding everything together at the cost of your health, your peace, and your sense of self.We look at the difference between breaking down, breaking open, and breaking through — and why some people reach a crisis point while others use discomfort as an invitation to change. I talk about how stress, emotional suppression, and long-term misalignment can show up as exhaustion, illness, anxiety, or a deep sense of emptiness, even when life looks fine on the outside. This conversation isn’t about fixing yourself or judging how you’ve coped. What you’ve been living with is understandable. It’s justified. And it makes sense. But it’s also an invitation. An invitation to stop surviving. To stop carrying what was never meant to be carried alone. Concern: When Worry Disguises Itself as Care
Send us Fan MailWhat if the love we feel turns into a quiet form of control? We take a clear-eyed look at concern—when it’s a vital act of care and when it slips into psychological worry that spikes stress, breeds resentment, and unintentionally blocks the growth of the people we care about. With simple language and grounded stories, we draw the line between real-world support for genuine vulnerability and the anxious impulse to manage someone else’s inner life.Together we unpack the hidden bargain that often drives rescuing: I will overfunction, and you will validate me. When that validation doesn’t arrive, bitterness swells and relationships strain. We explore how identities like helper, fixer, and saviour form, why they feel so compelling, and the subtle message they send—“You can’t handle this without me.” From there, we dive into the body’s side of the story: chronic concern as chronic stress, the addictive chemistry of anxiety, and how worry rehearses catastrophe without improving outcomes. The heart of the conversation is trust. Not blind optimism, but the steady belief that we and those we love can respond to reality as it unfolds. We share practical shifts to move from obligation to choice: pausing before you step in, asking if there’s true vulnerability, naming what your concern gives you, and replacing controlling check-ins with empowering invitations. You’ll learn how to support without stealing experience, create space for mistakes and learning, and rebuild connection that honours both capacity and care.If you’re tired of carrying everyone’s lives on your shoulders, this is your permission slip to set the cape down. Tune in to rethink concern, reclaim your nervous system, and practise the kind of trust that lightens relationships and strengthens resilience. Venting Actually Makes Things Worse (Here is Why!)
Send us Fan MailVenting feels like relief in the moment — but what if it’s actually training your brain to stay stuck? In this episode, I unpack what’s really happening in the brain when we repeatedly vent about the same situation. The brain is a pattern-recognition machine. When it hears the same story over and over, it doesn’t interpret it as a problem to solve — it interprets it as something important to keep available. That’s when access becomes easier, emotional charge increases, and what I often call “bad brain juice” gets reinforced. You’ll hear about:Why repetition tells the brain “this matters — keep it ready”How venting strengthens neural pathways instead of releasing themThe role of the unconscious mind — and why it doesn’t know the difference between imagination and realityHow replaying emotional stories conditions your nervous system as if they’re happening againWhy venting can quietly lock you into the very state you want to escapeThis episode isn’t about suppressing emotion — it’s about understanding how the brain works so you can stop feeding patterns that no longer serve you.If you’ve ever wondered why talking things out doesn’t always bring freedom, this conversation will shift how you relate to your inner world.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

Is Your Complaining Making You Sick?
Send us Fan MailComplaining feels normal. Harmless. Sometimes even justified. But what if it’s quietly exhausting your nervous system, reinforcing stress, and keeping old patterns alive? In this episode of Rise Up, I explore complaining not as a bad habit to stop — but as an unconscious pattern driven by repetition, emotional chemistry, and familiarity. Using neuroscience, language awareness, and lived experience, she reveals why the brain doesn’t distinguish between reality and imagination, how repeated dissatisfaction becomes addictive, and why we often keep people and situations in our lives that give us something to complain about. This isn’t about silencing your voice or accepting what isn’t acceptable. It’s about understanding what complaining is doing to you — physically, emotionally, and neurologically. If you’re intelligent, self-aware, and still feeling stuck… If stress feels less like something you experience and more like who you are… This episode offers a moment of awareness that could change how you relate to your thoughts, your conversations, and your life.No fixing. No judgement. Just a powerful pause — and a better question. Here is to your successLove VickySupport the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

The Lie Personal Development Doesn’t Tell You
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Rise Up, I explore one of the most common — and most misunderstood — questions in personal development: How long do I have to do the work?I look at why so many people approach personal development as something to fix, finish, or complete, rather than an ongoing relationship with themselves. We’ve been taught to work on our bodies for a goal, to diet for a result, to train for an outcome — and unconsciously, we bring that same mindset into inner work.I share how personal development isn’t about changing who you are, but about developing the personal side of yourself — your awareness, your patterns, your reactions, and the parts of you that quietly shape your life beneath the surface. I talk about why the belief that “people don’t change” is still deeply embedded in us, and how that belief alone can stop real growth before it begins. In this episode, I also explore the difference between healing reactive patterns and getting stuck in endless self-analysis. Why awareness matters more than fixing. Why responsibility matters more than blame. And why personal development isn’t something you do until you’re better — it’s something you live while you’re alive. This is an invitation to rethink effort, time, and what it really means to do the work — not to push harder, but to understand yourself more clearly. Here is to your success, Love VickySupport the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

Why You're Always Stressed Even When Nothing Is Wrong"
Send us Fan MailRise Up is a podcast about personal growth — with a sense of humour.Because life gets messy. We overthink. We over-give. We under-rest. We eat well… then we don’t. We move… then we stop. And before we know it, stress stops being something we feel and starts feeling like who we are.I’m Vicky Ross, and for over 30 years I’ve worked with intelligent, capable, self-aware people who aren’t broken — they’re just rehearsing the same internal conversations on repeat. And the brain doesn’t care whether a thought is helpful or harmful. It only notices what you practise. This podcast isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you notice what you’re doing without realising you’re doing it.Using neuroscience, language patterns, and my AIR Method — Awareness, Interruption, Rewiring — each episode offers short reflections and conversations that loosen old patterns and make change inevitable, not forced. Because once you see a pattern clearly, it starts to lose its grip. And once you can smile at it — or even laugh at it — it stops running the show. Some episodes will be gentle. Some might poke a little. All of them are here to help you live with more clarity, choice, and ease — without turning life into another self-improvement project. If you’re ready to live a little lighter, a little deeper, and stop taking every thought quite so seriously, you’re in the right place.Subscribe, come back often, and let this be a pause in your week — a moment of awareness that might change more than you think.Let’s rise up, one aware moment at a time.Support the showTo join my beautiful membership community click here: https://vickyross.mvsite.app/products/courses/view/1171591/?action=signupor visit my website:https://www.vickyross.com/This episode reflects my interpretation and awareness-based philosophical perspective, shaped by years of personal experience, training, reading, and research.

You’re Not Broken — You’re Conditioned
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Rise Up, I explore what it really means to feel misaligned — even when life looks fine on the outside.Over more than 30 years of working with intelligent, capable, often successful people, I’ve noticed a common thread: many are holding it all together, doing what’s expected, yet feeling quietly unfulfilled underneath the roles, pressure, and responsibility. Something feels off — and they can’t quite name why.I share how personality is shaped through life, how those patterns quietly create the life we’re living now, and why misalignment shows up as confusion, frustration, self-doubt, or restlessness. Not because anything is wrong with you — but because you may be living from conditioning rather than from who you truly are.In this episode, I talk about the power of language, unconscious patterns, and early programming — how the stories we tell, the meanings we attach, and the beliefs we’ve absorbed shape our behaviour without us realising it. I explain why people often don’t know what they want, why forcing change never works, and how awareness — not fixing — is the real starting point. This is an invitation to begin noticing what’s been shaping you beneath the surface, to reconnect with your own inner guidance, and to start creating a life that feels aligned and true to you.No pressure. No forcing. Just awareness — and the possibility of change.
