The Fog (1980) is one of John Carpenter's middling outings, but it's not a terrible choice for a cozy soft-horror night in. But its 2005 remake is unmitigated torture. So we're remaking a terrible remake of a sorta-mediocre movie with Ten Candles, a TTRPG that uses ten real candles that snuff out one by one until the doomed characters are enveloped in darkness. An American Werewolf in London (1981) is one of the all-time great horror comedies. And then 16 years later somebody decided to make a spiritual sequel, An American Werewolf in Paris, and inject it with all of the worst tropes of the '90s.
