Well it would be a real TRAGEDY if we did a whole Greek mythology month and didn't review Disney's Hercules. So glad we revisited this classic because it truly belongs in the discussion for best Greek mythology movies. Even though they take some liberties with the story to make it kid friendly there is so much homage the stories of old and lots of fun and banger songs for everyone to enjoy.

Roll Film is back and we're taking you on an epic adventure! A journey through movies based on Greek mythology in honor of Christopher Nolans upcoming release of The Odyssey we'll be taking a trip through myth movies old and new starting with what some believe to be the granddaddy of them all Jason And The Argonauts. While dated this movie shows of some legendary special effects that all can still find entertaining. Stay tuned for more mythologial mayhem all month long!

Well Indpendent Film month comes to a close here at Roll Film, but our indepdence wil never end! We decided to conclude this month with the magical surreal, comedy, horror Dave Made A Maze. We couldn't be more excited to have him on and share how he came up with this romantic comedy of errors that draws from his own personal experience for his 2025 film BitterSweet. We're back baby! And we're celebrating a special little guy's birthday month. All April long Greg will be sharing some of his favorite films with us and some awesome guests along the way. Starting off strong with the high octane action masterpiece that is Mad Max Fury Road. Since it's Greg's time we had to start by bringing in his favorite person, his co-host Jon, and then his second favorite person his wife Mindy! Welcome back Olympians! Roll Film is ready to bring home the win with our last episode in For The Gold February! Another inspiring true story called Eddie The Eagle. Eddie's story is more about personal victory and how believing in yourself can be contagious. It's been a great month of the games and films centered around them. Roll Film is taking March off and will be back in April!

Well we reviewed one Olympic movie that was a complete lie, one that was from different people's perspectives and now we've come the most true Olympic film ever, a documentary about the miralce on ice! To review a miralce we need a miracle of a host so we brought back blacksmith Joey Powell to get his take on this true underdog story!

For the gold February skates on with the dramatic retelling of a huge Olympic scandal from the 90's! In order to properly review this we needed an Olympic expert, but they weren't available so we got Abbey Merker instead. In all seriousness it was great to have such an Olympic fan join us for this insane story that turned into a great movie.

The winter games are upon us and the Roll Film crew could think of no better theme for this month than For The Gold February! All month will be reviewing movies that revolve around the winter games. Starting off with a bridge movie from last month, Cool Runnings. While Cool Runnings takes lots of liberties with story of the first Jamaican bobsled team but there's still a lot of love and inspiration to be had. Thanks for joining us through these amazing winter games!

Well, like most good things John Candyuary comes to an end and Roll Film thought it was fitting to do his last released film after his passing. Candian Bacon was documentarian Michael Moore's firsts attempt at making a comedy movie. The policites are pretty heavy handed but many jokes land. And whether or not you decide to watch it after listening to our review we hope you continue to revisit all that John Candy gave us. See you next month!

Couldn't do John Candyuary without reviewing Spaceballs! This film means so much to so many, our generation grew up repeating the jokes to one another, watching basic cable versions and looking forward to the sequel. Mel Brooks masterfully captures whats fun and silly about sci-fi, so hopefully you find our review just as endearing.

You can't have a John Candy month and not talk about this John Hughes classic! Uncle Buck might be Candy's most memorable role and there's lots of good reasons why. This was such a fun and heartwarming watch for the Roll Film Crew. Listen to our review and then revisit this amazing family film.

John Candyuary continues with the summer classic The Great Outdoors. Candy and Akroyd both get to shine in this odd couple family comedy. If you haven't seen this 80's gem, listen to our review. Well Roll Filmers, we promised you John Canduary and dog gone it, we're brining it to you. Starting the month off with one of his breakout supporting rolls in one of the wildest ideas for a movie ever, Splash. This mermaid rom-com isn't as happy go lucky as you might think, but it's worth the watch alone for John Candy's talent to shine. We look forward to celebrating this icon the whole month!

Merry Christmas Roll Filmers! Being that today is the big day for the big man (Santa) you know that we had to review a holiday movie. And what a movie it is! We're excited to discuss 2022's Violent Night. If you need convincing to see this action/comedy then give our review a listen. Documentary December rolls on with another film about a comedy legend. Sadly this legend is no longer with us but his story lives on. I Like Me is about John Candy and we hope that this documentary as well as our review will inspire you to pursue your passions while being honest about how you are doing. The world has been blessed with huge talent before but Eddie Murphy is on another level. That's why the Roll Film Crew had to review Netflix's new Eddie Murphy documentary Being Eddie. Documentary December is back and this time it's personal! Well personal for us here at Roll Film because we personally pick out each movie to review, so I guess everything we do is personal. Anyways, to bridge the gap between our horror movie review month and documentaries we decided to watch Spooktacular! A story about a man and his dream to create the first horror themed entertainment center. Listen to our review of this inspiring story!

Thanks for joining us on a very special Halloween episode of Roll Film in our vampire movie month! We had to end with one of the best recent vampire films Sinners. What a wild ride this movie was from start to finish and we here at Roll Film wouldn't want it any other way. We will be taking a break for the month of Novemeber but we'll be back with Documentary December!

Movies that suck continue with one of the most overlooked vampire movies of the 90's and maybe even ever. The Roll Film crew took a deep dive into obscurity with the mafia vampire mashup Innocent Blood. This definitely leans more comedy but is there a lot of heart in this blood sucking bash? Listen to our review and you be the judge.

For our Vampire month the Roll Film Crew decided to go to the source that started it all! We went all the way back to the ancient time of 1992 and review Bram Stoker's Dracula. The cast is stacked and they take what many would consider a difficult book to adapt and did the best they could. While they made some changes this adapation is probably the most faithful one. Give us a listen, we promise it won't SUCK (probably).

Sucktober marches on with a remake of arguably the horror film that started it all! This is not the usual movie we review here at Roll Film but we're SUCKERS for anything that fits our theme. See what I did there? Anyways, Nosferatu is like an old fashioned story with updated special effects. Hope you enjoy our review!

Spooky season is upon us and Roll Film decided to honor one of the most FANGtastic monsters of all time, vampires! Starting out our reviews we discuss one of the most influential movies of all time, Blade. Some would argue this film kickstarted the modern superhero craze, but there's no debate on whether Blade is one you should revisit!

As Stephen King September comes to a close Roll Film wanted to end on a hopeful note. For all of his monstrous creations King made one of the most inspiring stories of all time with The Shawshank Redemption. If you have never seen this movie do yourself a favor and watch it (after hearing our review of course), and if you have seen it we here at Roll Film imagine it's time to give it another watch. The last month of summer is here and you know we gotta review a new summer movie! Since we're getting a sequel the Naked Gun series we decided to review all of them! Starting with the original and working our way to the brand new film. Rewatching the first was a refreshing journey back in notalgic world of spoof comedy.

How do we end a month honoring one of the most prolific actors of our generation? By reviewing a documentary that he began filming in his youth! To say this movie is magical is an understatement. Do yourself a favor and watch the film Val, but after you listen to our review about why it's so good. This is the only film the Roll Film crew didn't actually rate out of 10 and I think we knew it's impossible to rate, it's something special that transcends traditional rating.

We couldn't have a Val Kilmer month without revisiting his time in the cowl! Batman Forever was a big transition for the caped crusader and for Kilmer's career. Listen as the Roll Film crew discusses what this movie means to them and Kilmer's take on the world's greatest detective.

When people think of Val Kilmer they almost always think about his role in the amazing comedy Macgruber. Ok that is really only Roll Film crew member Jon, but because of him we decided to review this underrated comedy. The whole cast shines in this movie and it was one of Val's most fun contributions later in his career. So take a chance on our reveiw before you give Macgruber another shot.

New month, new theme! And for the entire month of July we'll be reviewing Val Kilmer films. Val was a gift to modern cinema and his contribution cannot be overstated, one month will not truly do him justice, but we'll try! We're starting with one of his most iconic roles and movies, Top Gun. No he's not the star but Val always had a way of standing out no matter what character he played.
