Scottish Fiction

by Neil Wilson

As anyone will tell you those who cannot do, teach. Well in my case the saying should go, 'those who cannot do, preach'. Scottish Fiction, aside from being an Idlewild reference, is my attempt at just that. Not content with the bland and money grabbing dross that fills our radio waves, and without the necessary musical ability to do anything about it, Scottish Fiction is one man's attempt to promote, discover, and introduce new (and old) music. I attempt this through my blog and also via the means of community radio, where you can here my ramblings on Pulse 98.4 FM (or online at www.pulseonair.co.uk).

  1. Scottish Fiction - 30th July 2015

There's something pretty special about live music on radio. It's the aspect of doing this whole Scottish Fiction hoo-la that I enjoy the most. So it was such a delight to get back to hosting Scottish Fiction Sessions as I welcomed Dec '91 into the studio for a chat and live music. We spoke about...

  5. Scottish Fiction - 2nd July 2015

Having had the idea of doing a live review show for the best part of six months, it was great to finally get the Scottish Fiction Roundtable off the ground and on the air. Not that it was overly difficult mind you. Step 1: Ask a blogger to come on the show and review records. Step 2: Do it. So I...

  6. Scottish Fiction - 25th June 2015

What a wonderful world we live in sometimes... Musically speaking this week's Scottish Fiction show is pretty lovely too. I added one half of the new AA single from Kathryn Joseph to the Scottish Fiction Playlist, and there's also new music from The Van T's, Wozniak, Reverieme, TeenCanteen,...
