This is the final episode of Screening in Kingston. We talk about the last 6 years, review some movies, talk about what’s next for our two hosts and have some fun along the way!

This week Taylor discusses the hard choices she had in picking a movie this week. Mike tells a story about seeing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes this weekend, but he’ll save his review for next week. Taylor and Mike discuss a theatre closing in Brockville and the Netflix current subscription plans. This week, Mike reviews Challengers and Taylor reviews Unfrosted.

This week, we go through fan emails who give us their lists of the best actors currently in hollywood. Mike reviews Anyone But You and both Taylor and Mike review Late Night With The Devil, a much anticipated film by our entire team.

Taylor grills Mike on his (now past) Valentine’s plan to see Madame Webb. Taylor reviews Lisa Frankensitein and Mike reviews a bunch of movie trailers released around the Super Bowl.

This week Mike and Taylor finally get to Napoleon, a movie with a lot of buzz, followed by no buzz and finally being mainly forgotten during awards season.

This week Katie returns to the show for our next Book Movie Club. We review Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the new Netflix series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and compare it back to the source material, the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel.

This week we recap the Oscar nominations, discuss the top films from 2023 and Taylor reviews Priscilla.

This week Mike reviews Mean Girls (2024) and Taylor reviews Past Lives and our hosts discuss the odd messaging Hollywood marketing teams are sending out about movie musicals. Don’t forget our next Movie Book Club is Scott Pilgrim, read the graphic novel and watch the movie and/or TV show and write in your thoughts by January 26!

Of course we’ll start with recapping the Golden Globes that yes have happened already! Mike reviews Wonka, Taylor reviews Saltburn. We also give some more details on our next Movie Book Club, as we’ll be watching Scott Pilgrim, both the movie and the first episode of the new TV show and comparing it back to the graphic novel!

This week Mike and Taylor walk through the movie nominations for the Golden Globes and discuss a weird new category and how to define May December. Mike reviews Leave The World Behind and Talk To Me, Taylor reviews The Boy and the Heron.

Mike gives an update on the strike as the actors vote to ratify the agreement for the next 3 years. Mike explains why he isn’t going to review a movie this week and Taylor reviews May December.

This week we’re back to fan questions as we let our fans decide exactly what we talk about! We review movie trailers for Argylle, Mean Girls and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. We discuss the current movie season and of course Mike answers for his questionable take on Killers of the Flower Moon.

This week Mike returns to the MCU with his review of The Marvels. Taylor reviews BLANK and the two preview next week’s mailbag episode as we turn next week’s topics over to the fans.

Happy Halloween from Screening in Kingston! We have an episode on Halloween this year so we decided to finally see John Carpenter’s Halloween, because both Mike and Taylor have NEVER seen it! We also review a second movie from this horror/slasher series, selected by the fans.

Another Halloween themed episode as Mike and Taylor update their Conjuring Universe rankings, Mike reviews The Boogeyman and The Creator while Taylor reviews. The two also answer some fan questions and play a round of “Trigger me this” thanks to Akiel!

Taylor and Mike review The Nun II while they discuss Halloween in general and answer some fun fan questions about podcasting. A frequent guest host also writes in with some big news…

Thanks to an amazing fan question, Mike and Taylor discuss what they would put on their movie playlists. They build a playlist that represents them and present it on the show. It’s Halloween season so Taylor is putting out a pool online for you to pick which movie from the famous Halloween series we should watch for our October 31 episode!

Strike talks finally improve, so we kick off the episode with news on the Writers Guild of America returning to work. Taylor talks about the terrible humour in Once Bitten (1995), and Mike finally reviews Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayham. We also gossip for about 25 minutes.

This week Taylor reviews Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction from Netflix and Mike reviews A Haunting in Venice and The Pope’s Exorcist. They discuss the latest trailer for The Exorcist: Believer and look back on 5 years of Screening in Kingston. (Featuring a lot of Paul Rudd and Taylor Swift talk)

The Trek boys are back and they really ran out of time fast. Tyler finally saw the rest of Star Trek: Enterprise and gives his review of the entire series. Mike thinks this show is underrated and the two discuss where it sits in Star Trek fandom.

This week we answer a bunch of fun fan questions all themed to fall movie watching. Taylor reviews I Like Movies (Canadian Film!) and Mike reviews Gran Turismo and Cobweb.

Taylor reviews You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah (Netflix) and Mike reviews Heart of Stone and Bird Box: Barcelona. Not much new out in theatres so we vamp a bit this week.

This week, Taylor and Mike answer some spam emails and real fan emails. Taylor reviews The Out-Laws (Netflix), Mike reviews To Catch A Killer (Netflix) and The Last Voyage of the Demeter with some light spoilers as we see how close his prediction was.

Taylor and Mike begin this week’s episode by discussing the weird editing of last week’s episode. They also answer a few more fan questions about spoilers, babies and Theatre Camp. Mike reviews 65 and On A Wing and a Prayer and Taylor reviews The Beanie Bubble.

This week we open up the mailbag and answer some fan questions from the past few weeks. A lot more Barbie talk as we discuss a movie that’s really making an impact…everywhere…all types of impacts. This week we get to our Oscar Winner’s pick for an episode about Movies you know we’ll hate! Taylor and Mike have both selected movies for the other person that they knew they’d hate. They were forced to watch them and now they’ll review them!

It’s barbenheimer time! Our team reviews Barbie and Openheimer. Taylor talks about her experience being back in a movie theatre for the first time in a year, and the two discuss the success of these movies.

 We discuss the actor and writers strike in Hollywood, and our building anticipation for Barbie and Oppenheimer. We’ll have those reviews next week, so for now here are two other Barbie movie reviews requested by Kyra, our last place finisher in this year’s Oscars Pool.

This week we discuss the trailers for Wonka and Napoleon. Mike reviews Fool’s Paradise and Taylor reviews My Best Friend’s Exorcism.

This week Mike and Taylor discuss the heat, pop as a movie snack and then eventually they review two films with agin Star Wars stars. Mike reviews Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Taylor reviews The Machine.

Tyler returns to talk more Star Trek with Mike and this time they are tackling Star Trek moments they wish they saw on the big screen. They also share their own experiences seeing Star Trek in theatres including what it was like to introduce friends to Star Trek in 2009.
