Irene Chen: Cofounder of Parker Thatch
Irene Chen is the cofounder of the functional luxury brand Parker Thatch. Before founding her own brand, Chen graduated from UCLA with a degree in political science and began her career in financial consulting. After a couple years in this field, she decided to pivot to fashion, an industry she'd always been drawn to. She first worked for Calvin Klein in its licensing department before transitioning to Donna Karan, where she worked her way up to become the director of product development. Upon meeting, she and her business partner and husband Matthew Grenby decided to start a business of their own, an e-stationery brand called iomoi. This brand went through multiple iterations—from e-stationery to physical stationery to homeware—before they landed on something that stuck. After the success of their first bag, Chen and Grenby decided to focus on functional luxury handbags and rebrand the company to what it's known as today: Parker Thatch.

Rose Previte: Restaurateur and Entrepreneur
Rose Previte is the restaurateur and entrepreneur behind acclaimed DC restaurants and bars such as Maydan, Medina, and Sook as well as a new food concept in Los Angeles. However, Previte started her career in local government after graduating with a master's degree in public policy. Her first life was interrupted when her husband became NPR's Moscow correspondent, and they moved across the world, visiting over 30 countries in three years. Inspired by her travels, she decided to open a restaurant in DC, and in 2014, her first restaurant, Compass Rose, opened to much success. She then went on to open additional restaurants and a bar in DC, and she recently expanded to L.A. with a food hall, Maydan Market. Previte has also written a cookbook, launched a CPG brand, started a wine company, and founded the restaurant group No White Plates.

Lauren Harwell Godfrey: Founder of Harwell Godfrey
Lauren Harwell Godfrey is a jewelry designer and the founder of the brand Harwell Godfrey. But before she started her own jewelry brand, she began her career in advertising. Her advertising career spanned 15 years, working with clients like Adidas, Levi’s, and Ray-Ban. However, she didn’t feel artistically fulfilled and decided to enroll in culinary school. After graduating, she worked in Bay Area restaurants Chez Panisse and Bar Tartine. She also contributed to cookbooks and started her own vegan food blog. Ultimately, she decided that the culinary world was not the right fit and pivoted back to designing jewelry. She started making jewelry for herself and her friends before launching her fine jewelry brand in 2017. Today, she remains the sole designer, and her pieces have been worn by everyone from Kamala Harris to Rihanna.

Brooke Averick: Content Creator, Podcast Host, and Author
Brooke Averick is a content creator, cohost of Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast, and the author of the new novel Phoebe Berman Is Going to Lose It. But before she was a content multi-hyphenate, she began her career as a preschool teacher at a Quaker school. Then, in 2020, she downloaded TikTok and began sharing videos of herself reading from her childhood journals. The videos went mega-viral, and she soon pivoted from teaching to full-time content creation. Jen Hamilton: Nurse, Content Creator, and Author
Jen Hamilton is a labor and delivery nurse known on the internet for her informative (and often hilarious) videos about healthcare. But before entering the world of content creation, Hamilton was an emergency room nurse. After working her way up to assistant director in that department, she realized she needed a change from the chaotic nature of the ER and pivoted into labor and delivery. During the pandemic, she began making content about nursing and providing insight into healthcare on social media, and since then, she’s created a community of over 6 million followers across platforms. This past May, she also added author to her extensive résumé when she released her first book, Birth Vibes, which quickly became number one on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Isabel Klee: Author and Content Creator
Isabel Klee is the author of Dogs, Boys, and Other Things I’ve Cried About, which recently hit number one on the New York Times best-seller list. However, before writing her debut book, Klee graduated from college with a degree in English language and literature, and shortly after, began working as an assistant to a dog photographer. During this time, she also began creating content related to her own foster dogs on social media. After working for the photographer for seven years, she was unexpectedly let go and pivoted to freelance content creation and dedicated more time to her own growing social media presence. Her content about rehabilitating foster dogs captured the hearts of many, and today, she has over a million followers on TikTok. She eventually stopped freelancing to focus full-time on both her own platform and writing her debut book, which was released in April of this year. Her memoir is now being developed into a TV series, in which Klee will serve as an executive producer.

Rachel Hochhauser: Author and Cofounder of Piecework
Rachel Hochhauser is the author of the buzzy new novel Lady Tremaine, but before achieving her dream of becoming a professional writer, she held many different titles. After studying creative writing and history in college, Hochhauser began working at an ad agency as a strategic advisor. She went on to cofound her own agency called Major Studio in 2016, and while serving as partner and brand director there, she also cofounded Piecework, a brand of artful puzzles and gifts. That said, throughout all her success, she still had the itch to write, and in 2023, she began writing her debut novel. Lady Tremaine, a feminist retelling of Cinderella, was released earlier this year and was named an instant New York Times best seller and a Reese’s Book Club pick. She is currently working on her second novel.

Susie Wolff: Managing Director of F1 Academy
Susie Wolff is the managing director of F1 Academy, but before she took on the role, she was a professional racer. Wolff began kart racing at just eight years old and became a professional racer in 2001. She briefly raced for British Formula 3 before moving on to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for seven years. She eventually made it to F1 when she joined Williams Racing as a development driver in 2012, and then committed full-time to the F1 team in 2013. In 2014, she became the first woman in 22 years to take part in an F1 race weekend at the British Grand Prix. After retiring from professional racing in 2015, she cofounded the nonprofit Dare to Be Different and moved to the business side of racing, assuming the role of team principal and later CEO of Venturi Racing. In 2023, she was made managing director of F1 Academy, a women’s-only racing series. Her debut book, Driven, comes out April 28.

Courtney Smith: Enneagram Coach and Author
Courtney Smith is an enneagram coach, author, and consultant who works with individuals as well as Fortune 500 companies. After receiving a degree in mathematical economics, she graduated from Yale Law School with her JD and intended to start her career in law. She then decided to change course to consulting, where she worked at McKinsey & Company before transitioning to Condé Nast, briefly working for a real estate start-up, and even considering a career as a doctor. She soon joined the board of Planned Parenthood and received her masters in public health, but was forced to pivot due to the start of the pandemic. After this career shift, Smith, who had used the Enneagram personality system herself, began using the tool to help others. This led to where she is today: coaching and consulting high-profile clients such as Brené Brown and co-authoring the book Choosing Wholeness Over Goodness: A Process for Reclaiming Your Full Self.

Renee Montgomery: Vice President and Part Owner of the Atlanta Dream
Renee Montgomery is the vice president and part owner of the WNBA team the Atlanta Dream. Before owning the team, Montgomery was a WNBA player on teams including the Atlanta Dream, the Minnesota Lynx, and the Connecticut Sun. Before that, she played division one college basketball at the University of Connecticut. After 11 years as a professional WNBA player, Montgomery opted out of the 2020 season to focus on social justice and activism before retiring from the WNBA in 2021. Shortly after retiring, Montgomery became the first former WNBA player to be an owner and vice president of a team. Today, Montgomery continues to serve as part owner and vice president of the Atlanta Dream and runs her own clothing brand, C Suite 21, and the media production company Think Tank Productions.

Jenna Goldring: Founder and CEO of The High Confectionary
Jenna Goldring is the founder and CEO of the low-dose edible brand The High Confectionary. Before she launched her brand, Goldring spent the beginning of her career in ad sales. As she worked her way up to the VP level, she learned about the advertising nuances for highly regulated brands, such as those in the cannabis category. Goldring realized the cannabis industry was excluding consumers like herself: busy women who enjoyed taking edibles to wind down but didn’t want to feel out of control. After learning there was a need for low-dose edibles in the cannabis market, she launched The High Confectionary in 2021. Under Goldring’s leadership, The High Confectionery continues to grow its reach and has recently partnered with Broma Bakery’s Sarah Fennel to expand the product line into low-dose chocolates.

Priscilla Tsai: CEO and Founder of Cocokind
Priscilla Tsai is the CEO and founder of the skincare brand Cocokind. Before she started her company, Tsai worked on Wall Street as an equity research analyst. She had always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and after years of feeling isolated by the beauty industry due to her acne and sensitive skin, she decided to start her own skincare brand. In 2014, Tsai left her finance career to start Cocokind with the goal of developing simple products that felt like a prestige experience at an accessible price point. The brand quickly gained traction on social media and developed a loyal customer base. Then, in 2019, Target began stocking Cocokind products. A few years later, in 2022, Cocokind launched in Ulta Beauty as well. Today, Cocokind’s products are available at every Target and Ulta in the United States, as well as having a huge retail presence at Whole Foods.

Monica Dinsmore: Head of Esports at EA
Monica Dinsmore is the head of esports at EA, or Electronic Arts. Before working in gaming, Dinsmore worked in the tech industry during the dot-com boom of the late 1990s and then transitioned into finance for nearly 15 years. She then pivoted to the gaming industry with a move to Riot Games, working on League of Legends and eventually working her way up to head of publishing for esports Europe. After realizing her passion for the esports world, she got an opportunity to move to EA, known for its real-life sports titles like Madden NFL, and ultimately became the head of esports. Since Dinsmore arrived at EA, the company has broken engagement records for its esports brands. Today, she’s been in the esports world for over a decade and continues to find innovative ways to expand the industry and reach new audiences.

Cofounder and Chief Creative Officer of Loeffler Randall
Jessie Randall is the cofounder and chief creative officer of the global lifestyle brand Loeffler Randall. Before she started her company, Randall began her career in advertising but, after a few years, made the leap into the fashion industry. Starting from scratch as an intern at Katayone Adeli, while also taking fashion classes, she then transitioned to Banana Republic, working as a junior designer. However, in 2005, alongside her husband, she decided to start her own footwear company, which quickly garnered recognition and expanded beyond shoes into the global success it is today. In 2007, she was awarded the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Design, and in 2022, British Vogue dubbed the brand's Camellia heel “one of the best-selling bridal shoes in the world.” Currently, Loeffler Randall products are sold worldwide across retailers such as Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman as well as in its own digital and physical retail stores.

Kahlana Barfield Brown: Founder of KBB by KAHLANA
Kahlana Barfield Brown is the founder of her namesake clothing brand, KBB by Kahlana. Before she became a designer, she was an icon in the editorial world. Her career started at InStyle, where she worked her way up from intern to the publication’s first-ever beauty and fashion editor at large. Her work steering the outlet’s coverage earned her widespread recognition, including the title of Editor of the Year from Harlem’s Fashion Row. She led the outlet for a decade before leaving in 2018 to build her personal brand online in the fashion space. Brown made the leap from reporter to designer in 2022, when Target tapped her to be the first designer for the Future Collective—the company’s first-ever creator-led fashion line. After her first collection sold out quickly, Brown decided to partner with the company again to launch her own brand, KBB, exclusively with the chain. Her designs continue to be wildly successful, as Target plans to expand her collection to over 500 locations nationwide this year.

Jenn Lueke: Culinary Creator and Cookbook Author
Jenn Lueke, aka Jenn Eats Good, is a culinary creator, recipe developer, and newly anointed cookbook author. She started her now-famous Instagram account while she was in college studying business, finance, and entrepreneurship. During her undergrad, she interned in several related fields that gave her a three-dimensional view of how to bootstrap a business—from market research to angel investing. Alison Roman Returns! The Acclaimed Cookbook Author Is Back
Alison Roman is a food writer, cookbook author, and overall culinary powerhouse. Roman's food career began when she dropped out of college to pursue her dream of working as a chef. She started out as a sous-chef for various restaurants before pivoting into food writing and recipe development. Roman joined us on the show in 2020 to tell us about her path to getting published at outlets like Bon Appétit, Buzzfeed, and The New York Times as well as authoring her first cookbook, Dining In. Since being on the show, Roman has published three more cookbooks, the latest of which is called Something From Nothing, and started her own newsletter. She's also ventured into the consumer packaged goods space with the launch of her own tomato sauces and opened her own small grocery store, First Bloom. She joins us to tell us about the newest chapter of her career and where she's going next.

Carla Rockmore: Fashion Influencer and Designer
Carla Rockmore is a fashion influencer and designer. She began her career in retail before transitioning into the design department, utilizing fundamental skills acquired during her fashion trade school education. Rockmore developed her creative vision across categories, designing everything from ladies’ dresses for high-end department stores to licensed children’s sleepwear for Disney. She pivoted into content creation during the pandemic, when she found herself in need of a creative outlet while all of her projects were on hold. Her career online started in her fifties, posting TikTok videos of herself getting ready in hopes of teaching other women how to express themselves through clothing. Before she knew it, Rockmore was dubbed “the Carrie Bradshaw of TikTok” and quickly became a fashion authority known for her iconic two-story closet. Today, she has almost two million followers, and she does it all while continuing her work as a designer with her clothing line, the Carla Rockmore Collection, which you can shop now on QVC.

Priyanka Ganjoo: Founder of Kulfi Beauty
Priyanka Ganjoo is the founder and CEO of Kulfi Beauty, but her first job was in business consulting. She was drawn to the role because she loved working with people and solving problems, but she knew she hadn’t found her true calling yet. Her pivot into beauty came after she got her MBA. She started in corporate, managing global retail strategy for Estée Lauder, and later transitioned into the merchandising space when Ipsy hired her to run its Glam Bag program. It was there that Ganjoo learned how to create experiences with her customer in mind by personalizing packages for millions. But as a South Asian woman, she found herself underrepresented in the brands she would source for her Glam Bags. She decided to start Kulfi to honor her heritage and create space for people and her culture. A year after launching the brand, Kulfi became the first South Asian female-owned brand to be carried at Sephora.

Andrea Beaty: Award-Winning Children’s Author
Andrea Beaty is an award-winning children’s author. Before she became known for her curious and clever characters in Rosie Revere, Engineer, and Ada Twist, Scientist, she was on track for a career in STEM. In college, Beaty studied biology and computer science, and then went on to work at a software company. Her start in writing came when she volunteered to write a tech support newsletter for a customer audience. The job helped Beaty hone her skills as a writer and copy editor years before she decided to try her hand at fiction. She started by writing stories inspired by the books she read to her kids before getting published in the 2000s. Since then, Beaty’s work has landed her on the New York Times Best Sellers list multiple times and has even been adapted into an award-winning Netflix animated series. She often credits her time as a technical writer as what gave her the skills to break down big concepts and life lessons for kids. Now, more than 20 years after her first book was written, Beaty shows no signs of slowing down with more stories on the way this year.

Leslie Tessler: Founder and CEO of Hanni
Leslie Tessler is the founder of Hanni, a bodycare brand that specializes in innovative, easy-to-use, ultra-hydrating products. Her first job was in fashion at Ralph Lauren before she pivoted into beauty as a marketing manager for L’Oréal Paris. She went on to continue her work at the executive level in the space with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare. But after 10 years of working in such demanding roles, Tessler felt burned out.
