Secret Teacher Business

In this episode I speak to Molly Exton, who has just graduated from her Masters of Teaching at Deakin University in Melbourne. She shares her insights across a range of topics including her journey from corporate HR (and how this helped her confidence in the classroom), what it was like to do a Masters in only 18 months, and lots of practical advice for people setting out on their teaching journey. Molly discusses her experience of Deakin's Internship option, how to get the most out of the teaching practicums and the final step - getting a job!

We discuss the challenges of coaching peers and the pleasures of mentoring graduates. Plus Lauren talks about why she prefers her three children don't attend the school where she works.
