She currently lives in Denver with her husband, two beautiful daughters, and two cute pups.On this Seeds of Sunshine episode:Erica calls herself a wellness "de-influencer," because she does the exact opposite of everyone else on the internet. Instead of being like, check out this biohack, grab this tracker, she tells her clients to eat real food and keep things simple and boring, as she pointed out. Moving our bodies and getting a good ight sleep are so important in helping us thrive as individuals.  Erica explained that our systems in America are not set up to support people being well. Our food systems are trash. Our health care is sick care, and we glamorize hustle. One misconception about women maintaining a healthy weight is that you eat less, move more, and drop weight, which is not true, especially for women over 40. Erica explains that when women put themselves in starvation mode, their bodies will prioritize holding on to fat. Every woman should do these things for her health: drink more water, eat breakfast, and don't drink coffee on an empty stomach.Erica is also a behavior change expert, which means she helps her clients do a lot of mindset work and rewiring, because that's how health becomes easy. To connect with Erica Ballard, please follow her:Erica Ballard | Women's Health CoachErica Ballard, MS, CHC | LinkedInSupport the showFull editing credit & art design to my daughter Sophia Micsa.  There are three ways to support our podcast:1.  You can become a monthly subscriber to our podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/1999885/support to help us continue our journey of sprinkling as many seeds of sunshine your way. His coaching program has been used by companies (Hulu, Disney), universities, and more than 40 school districts. “But growth and change are not the same thing. One might value information, and the other might value self-knowledge.Eric identified four animal types to match the four personality packs. There are 16 different animal personality types, according to Eric. Eric also talks about matching personality when it comes to dating. To connect with Eric Gee and buy his book, please follow him:ERIC GEE | THE POWER OF PERSONALITY | Youtopia Project(3) Instagram(8) Facebook Support the showFull editing credit & art design to my daughter Sophia Micsa.  There are three ways to support our podcast:1.  You can become a monthly subscriber to our podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/1999885/support to help us continue our journey of sprinkling as many seeds of sunshine your way. Healing Our Collective Mental Health with Author Phyllis Leavitt

Season Three, Episode 125Join your hosts, Carmen and Sophia Micsa, to learn more about healing our collective mental health with author Phyllis Leavit. Phyllis Leavitt graduated from Antioch University with a Masters Degree in Psychology and Counseling in 1989. As a psychotherapist, I treated children, families, couples, and individual adults for 34 years, and I have worked extensively with abuse and dysfunctional family dynamics, their aftermath, and some of the most important elements for healing, including the intersection of our emotional well-being and spiritual healing and connection. Her latest book, America in Therapy: A New Approach to Hope and Healing for a Nation in Crisis, is groundbreaking. Phyllis lives with her husband in Taos, NM, and is retired from her psychotherapy practice, focusing on writing and speaking. "I don't believe there's any person who, if they have a chance to heal in that way, doesn't become more loving, more kind, more compassionate, more creative, more contributing, more cooperative, and more peaceful." Phillys LevittOn this Seeds of sunshine:Phyllis knew from an early age that she wanted to become a writer.Phyllis ended up choosing to become a psychotherapist because she went to therapy herself, which was helpful and life-changing.When Phyllis decided to write her book American in Therapy: A New Approach to Hope and Healing for a Nation in Crisis, she did so because she realized that in the field of psychotherapy, even if you're not working with a whole family, you're looking at the family configuration that a person came from. The author thinks that the mental health crisis in America has deepened because many people have really lost the sense of family in their own lives.Additionally, the extreme and escalating divide between the wealthy and those really struggling to survive economically is growing, causing enormous stress. The mental health crisis is also due to the lack of balance between the good of the individual and the good of the whole. To connect with Phyllis Leavitt and buy her book American in Therapy: A New Approach to Hope and Healing for a Nation in Crisis, please follow her:Phyllis Leavitt Website - Phyllis LeavittInstagram(1) FacebookSupport the showFull editing credit & art design to my daughter Sophia Micsa.  There are three ways to support our podcast:1.  You can become a monthly subscriber to our podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/1999885/support to help us continue our journey of sprinkling as many seeds of sunshine your way. Komorebi, Life’s magic, & Real Estate Market insights with Carmen Micsa

Season Three, Episode 122Join your hosts, Carmen and Sophia Micsa, to learn more about life's indelible moments through komorebi, as well as the latest real estate updates. On this Seeds of Sunshine:Looking back at our mother/daughter podcast that Sophia and I started three years ago. We plan to continue with the same great and inspiring content, with Sophia continuing as the editor and introducing our guests from UC Santa Barbara, where she will be starting college next week. I came across a great concept, Komorebi, a Japanese word which literally means sunlight leaking through trees, or as I described it in my article published on Medium, I see it when I stand still during my runs, I feel like I'm steeping in nature to sip sunshine, living and loving the light in a world of shadows. Komorebi - the topic of this episode is this light that we all want to welcome into our lives and to seek during our daily lives, maybe during a walk, during a run, or just by being in your office or in your home. Author Hector Garcia defined komorebi as "the sunlight leaking through trees, a display of sunbeams filtering through tree branches."As far as our real estate market, there is beauty in being a buyer right now. You can see some komorebi out there, some light after experiencing really crazy prices that kept going up and up for us in the Sacramento region.Price negotiations are quite possible. The sellers are still understanding that they have to adjust their prices. So we see a lot of price reductions or price improvements out there in our real estate market. And basically, that's a really good thing for the buyers. And another great thing for my buyers is the fact that, finally, they have more choices. In recent years, there were very few listings on the market, so everybody was fighting for a few out there, and now that has become much better for the buyers and the sellers that I work with.  Please follow your host, Carmen Micsa, Broker/CEO with Dynamic Real Estate, BA/MA in English, podcaster, and published author:Carmen Micsa (@carmenseedsofsunshine) • Instagram photos and videosCarmen Micsa | FacebookTo purchase my tennis and poetry books, please go to Amazon or wherever books are sold. For real estate, check out my website. When we feel that benevolent energy, that loving energy, that guiding energy, and pay attention to that, then we can elevate our lives and live in joy. Ros was able to connect with the spirit of dead people, but now she only chooses to communicate with her guardian angel because angelic energy is so light and divine. To buy Ros Place's book and connect with her:Home - Angels with RosFacebookThe Guardian Angel Channel with Ros & Tressarn - YouTubeSupport the showFull editing credit & art design to my daughter Sophia Micsa.  There are three ways to support our podcast:1.  You can become a monthly subscriber to our podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/1999885/support to help us continue our journey of sprinkling as many seeds of sunshine your way. She enjoys staying active, spending time outside, running, hiking, camping, and exploring. She and her husband have a small chicken farm. They enjoy gardening, building things, and doing projects around the house. Leigh also bakes sourdough bread and is passionate about helping others do the same. Sourdough is both a science and an art, and Leigh believes anyone who wants to learn truly can!On this Seeds of Sunshine episode: Leigh calls balancing out motherhood with her business and athletic endeavors a juggle. However, she prioritizes athletics and running, which helps her with everything else.Leigh started baking bread about eight years ago to have a healthier option for her family. As people asked questions about the sourdough breadmaking process, Leigh created a curriculum and a class. Then, she hosted her first class for a group of friends at her house. As a biologist, Leigh is interested in the science of making bread. Sourdough is a very flexible and dynamic process.Leigh quoted a baker who said, "It takes 10 loaves to get comfortable and 10 years to get good."We've all heard of prebiotics and probiotics. Sourdough is baked in the oven, so those microorganisms don't survive that baking process. It's too hot for them. However, the fermentation process actually alters the cellular structures and creates new compounds. This is true for any fermented food, and scientists have grouped those compounds into this general category they call postbiotics.Sourdough refers to the process, so we can have sourdough bread, waffles, etc.  To connect with Leigh Patterson: Home | OaknEggOak ‘N Egg (@oaknegg) • Instagram photos and videosOaknEgg - YouTubeOaknEgg's Amazon PageSupport the showFull editing credit & art design to my daughter Sophia Micsa.  There are three ways to support our podcast:1.  You can become a monthly subscriber to our podcast https://www.buzzsprout.com/1999885/support to help us continue our journey of sprinkling as many seeds of sunshine your way. Bonnie signed up for a class that sounded like it had to do with journalism. It was an advanced playwriting class. How to Develop More Critical Thinking Skills with Jesse Hartman

He aimed to reach learners not as a teacher but as a mentor and academic guide. Jesse has prepared students for nearly every standardized test and every available subject. He is currently the Director of Hartman Tutoring and continues to tutor in NYC and beyond. Jesse is also an accomplished poet and award-winning lyricist. “Keep on asking until you understand. Keep on asking until you feel like you have a grasp of the subject that you're trying to get a hold of. There's no sense of walking away being like, I still don't really get what's going on here.”– Jesse Hartman “The purpose of critical thinking skills is to have a sound view of how to come to a valid conclusion and recognize something as true versus not. It's harder than we think, especially in a world where many very large entities benefit from duping us, either as individuals or as collectives. Sometimes it's scary to have an opinion or a viewpoint or a vision of reality that differs from the masses.” – Jesse HartmanOn this Seeds of Sunshine episode:As the owner and director of Hartman Tutoring, Jesse specializes in counseling, coaching enrichment, and test prep tutoring.Jesse believes students use his tutoring services to improve their executive functioning or critical thinking.Hartman Tutoring has been a family business. He sees it as a grand subject that has a lot of ups and downs, but it's just something complicated for us in society. It's an imperfect mechanism that serves a purpose and contributes in many ways to the functionality of the educational system and to the societal world that we live in.Jesse is a big believer in preparing the child for the road, not the road for the child.
