SLP 594: Healing, Hope & the Heart of Bali with Briar Kirkby

In this inspiring episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim welcomes Briar Kirkby, founder of Briar Loves Bali Retreats, to share her extraordinary journey of healing, resilience, and transformation. After navigating a difficult divorce and a life changing diagnosis of tonsil cancer, Briar discovered profound healing in Bali, where the island’s culture, spirituality, and deep sense of community helped her recover physically, emotionally and spiritually. She opens up about her cancer treatment, the alternative healing modalities she embraced, and how Bali became a sanctuary that ultimately inspired a whole new chapter of her life. This conversation explores the intimate women’s retreats Briar now hosts in Bali, designed to help participants slow down, reconnect with themselves and experience genuine healing in a supportive environment. With small group sizes, personalised care, and a focus on rest, connection, and self-discovery, Briar’s retreats offer women a unique opportunity to step away from the busyness of life and return home feeling refreshed, empowered, and deeply connected to themselves. About Briar: Briar Kirkby is the founder of Briar Loves Bali Retreats. After navigating divorce, single parenting and a cancer diagnosis in midlife, she found herself completely reassessing the life she had built and the pressure she had placed on herself for so many years. A trip to Bali at the end of her cancer treatment became a turning point. It gave her space to slow down, reconnect with herself and begin creating a different way of living, one built around rest, simplicity and choosing herself more intentionally. Today, Briar splits her time between Perth and Bali, where she renovates villas and hosts small group retreats for women who feel stretched too thin and disconnected from themselves. Her retreats focus on creating space for women to slow down, reflect and reconnect, without pressure to constantly perform or keep pushing through. Briar speaks openly about midlife, resilience, rebuilding after major life change, and the importance of rest, self-love and learning to come back to yourself after difficult seasons of life. Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is filling my cup. Everyday waking up and finding something positive about my day. Her favourite quote is: Challenged accepted! Favourite Saying! Come on Bridget! The people there have got this beautiful sense, they have got nothing and they give you so much. Every time I went back there, it changed me. I changed how I thought, how I lived, what I wanted, and when I go there, I just feel peace. They do it with absolute unconditional love. I think they are born with love. They live with belief and hope. It is such an honour to go and be in that environment and watch these people truly believe that these blessings are for the better. Bali is the heart chakra of the planet We get one shot, that’s it. We don’t get a comeback. This is no dress rehearsal. This is it. Balinese people held my hand. Bali has that sense of allowing you to be you. Just you. I found it for a reason, and I am here for a reason. Your body actually sends messages and allows me to pass them back to you. I wasn’t using my voice. I wasn’t speaking my truth. I was full of shit. I was lying to myself. The more bullshit I believed, I think the sicker I got. I realised that I wasn’t telling people how I really felt. I wasn’t being honest about me. I believe that toxicity in my environment got me to that day. After cancer and after a nasty divorce, and to find myself again, and to be this happy human that I wake up every day happy to be here. I am grateful to my ex-husband because he has made me who I am. Because of him, I found myself. I thought everything was over. So becoming the phoenix and rising to who I am today. I guarantee you that I am going listen to you. I want you to leave and feel a little bit lighter. Love who you are, where you are at, the body you are in You can change your mind, your path, your priorities, your friends at any time because that is my choice. Stop being hard on you. Be kind to you. SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 593: Self Love Quicky - Processing Loss and Grief

In this heartfelt Quicky of The Self Love Podcast, Kim explores the many forms of grief and loss, reminding us that grief extends beyond death to include relationship endings, health challenges and major life transitions. She shares practical tools to support healing, including mindful breathing, time in nature, gentle movement, and the therapeutic use of essential oils such as rose, lavender, and sandalwood. Kim emphasises that true healing comes from allowing ourselves to feel and process our emotions rather than suppressing them, and that there is no set timeline for recovery. With a focus on self-compassion, support, and nurturing self-care rituals, this episode offers comfort and guidance for anyone navigating loss. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Frankincense Essential Oil It is like a coat of armour, this beautiful sacred oil supports emotional grounding, spiritual connection and deep breathing. Rose Essential Oil Is an incredible healer for the heart. Lavender Essential Oil Lavender, dream mum in a bottle, your mother hug, helps calm the nervous system and help support sleep, anxiety, overwhelm and emotional exhaustion. Bergamot Essential Oil When grief feels so heavy or dark, Bergamot can help lift the spirit and bring a little bit of lightness back into the heart. Sandalwood Essential Oil Is so deeply comforting and meditative. It supports stillness, prayer, reflection and emotional anchoring. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. It is something we learn to move with, breathe through, and in all intentions, we learn to honour it. You have to feel it, to heal it. Emotions are purely energy in motion. If we suppress this grief, it doesn’t disappear. It just stores itself in the body. Sometimes our deepest pain becomes our greatest awakening. There is just no perfect way to grieve. Self love during grief is not about pretending to be okay. It is about meeting yourself with compassion while you are not okay. Grief simply reflects the depths of your love. Even after loss, even after heartbreak, even after pain you are still worthy of love, especially your own. SLP 592: Navigating the Love and Loss of a Parent with Sue Anderson-Stevens

In this heartfelt episode, Kim sits down with Sue Anderson-Stevens, author of Love and Loss of a Parent, to explore her deeply personal journey through grief, resilience, and healing. Sue reflects on her upbringing on the Central Coast of New South Wales, where her parents taught her the value of simplicity, gratitude, and finding joy even during difficult times. She shares how these lessons shaped her career as a project manager and leader, where her focus has always been on helping others feel seen, heard, and valued. Sue opens up about the profound experience of losing both of her parents within just 116 days and the emotional impact of caring for them through their final years. The conversation delves into the ways Sue navigated loss, including her passion for ultramarathon running and completing a challenging 100-kilometre race as part of her healing journey. Through stories of endurance, the Camino de Santiago, meaningful signs from her parents, and the support of family and friends, Sue reveals how grief can evolve into growth and transformation. Drawing from the framework outlined in her book Grief, Healing, Connection, and Transformation, Sue offers compassionate insights for anyone experiencing loss. Sue’s powerful message reminds listeners to honour their own grieving process, embrace self-love, and remember that “you have to feel it to heal it.” About Sue: Sue Anderson-Stevens is a Master Practitioner of NLP and Time Line Therapy®, a certified Transformational and Grief Coach, and a passionate advocate for helping others navigate life’s most challenging moments with courage and compassion. After losing both of her parents within months of each other, Sue felt called to transform her personal journey of grief into something meaningful–supporting others to move from grief toward healing, connection, and transformation through her book, Love and Loss of a Parent. With over 35 years of experience in leadership and project management, Sue brings a unique blend of structure and empathy to her work. An avid runner and ultramarathon finisher, she believes deeply in the power of movement, mindset, and connection to support healing. Sue lives on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, with her partner and is a proud mum to twin daughters. She is now building a supportive community so that no one has to walk through loss alone. Her definition of Self Love is: If I look in the context to loss, it would be to give yourself permission to grieve without judgement and allowing yourself to move forward when you are ready, and not when the world expects you to. Her favourite quote is: I would rather be the oldest person in the gym than the youngest person in the nursing home. You have to feel it, to heal it. Not a day goes by that I don’t acknowledge that I had a very privileged childhood growing up. They always made our childhood be the best they could in the circumstances that they had. Everybody will bring something unique to the team, and if you are the leader, it is your job to find what that is. I think making people feel heard and seen, is something that I really focussed in on. The longer runs, I love because you just get to just tune in. It is like a meditation. It is just being able to be lost in thought, in beautiful nature. I want to do something that people go is hard. I want to do something not everyone can do. I want to do that thing that is outside the box. One thing I love about the running community is a very supportive community, regardless of your age, shape, or condition. You are always welcomed in. The best place to start, if you really don’t know, is park runs. There was constant exhaustion and trying to manage lots of different things that I had going on at once. I felt like I was constantly living in a survival mode. They were the sort of people that didn’t ever want to be a burden. I just knew that when I walked in the door at Mum and Dad’s, and when I walked in the door at my home, I had to be a different person to the person that was being the carer, the juggler of everything. When I knew that they had given up the fight, then I knew it was time to prepare. I was grieving the loss of my parents, even though they were still alive, and I just never thought that that was a thing. I took the redundancy as a sign that was now my new job. It was to look after Mum and Dad. I knew I would have my time. My focus was 100% on the job I had at hand. The world was moving on so quick and my grief wasn’t. Everyone’s hard is something different. Mine happened to be long distance ultra running. If you can find your hard, something that you know is out of your comfort zone and it is going to take effort for you to do, then that is your hard. If I could share my story, that could help other people, then it would be worth me writing that book, even if it just helps a couple of people. I referred to myself as an accidental author. I felt that it is my story, in my words. I wanted it to sound very much like a conversation. I wanted it to sound so personal. This is about the community that I want to build and supporting people. I really wanted to normalise the conversation about grief. Grief is a place that you do need to visit, but it is not a place you want to stay. The next version of you is waiting. SLP 591: Self Love Quicky - Power of Presence

In this Self Love Podcast Quicky Kim explores the transformative power of being fully present in the moment and how nature can be one of our greatest teachers. Through simple observations of birds, resting dogs, and the rhythm of ocean waves, she shares how the natural world reminds us to stop overthinking, release comparison, and simply be. Kim explains that presence is a profound act of self-love, and that healing often comes not from doing more, but from softening, listening, and connecting with what is happening right now. She encourages us to cultivate presence through practices such as standing barefoot on the earth, watching nature, and taking conscious breaths. This uplifting episode is a reminder of your innate power and an invitation to embrace the beauty and wisdom available in the present moment. This breath, this moment. The most powerful way is to spend time in nature. Animals, they don’t overthink who they are. Trees don’t compare themselves to the forest beside them, and the sun never wonders if it is enough. You do not have to constantly prove your worth. Presence is self love. Life was never meant to be lived in permanent urgency, and nature has the most powerful ability to bring us back home to ourselves. Healing is not always found in the doing more. It is found in the softening, in the listening, the pausing, the allowing. Give yourself permission to be fully where you are. The more present we become, the more love you feel. Life is full of highs and lows. Grace synergy blend reminds me to come home to me. SLP 590: The Wisdom of Horses: Healing, Self Love & Sovereignty with Noni Boon

In this inspiring episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with holistic counsellor, horse trainer, and equine assisted therapist Noni Boon to explore the powerful connection between horses, self-love, and personal transformation. Noni shares her journey of reconnecting with horses as an adult and how her mare, Lacey, became a profound teacher of emotional healing, healthy boundaries, self-trust, and sovereignty. Together, they delve into archetypal psychology, the wisdom of living in the present moment, and how horses can help us reconnect with our instincts, emotions, and authentic selves. Noni also discusses her definition of self-love as loyalty to oneself, sharing her unique practice of creating personal vows through a symbolic act of “marrying yourself.” The conversation touches on healing, forgiveness and the deep lessons horses offer in personal growth. This is a rich and thought provoking conversation for anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them About Noni Noni Boon is a Holistic Counsellor, writer, speaker, podcaster, and horsewoman whose work helps women reconnect with their instincts, establish healthy boundaries, and live with greater sovereignty. Drawing on holistic counselling, archetypal psychology, nervous system awareness, and the wisdom of horses, Noni offers a grounded and compassionate approach to personal transformation. Her work supports women in moving beyond self-doubt, over-responsibility, and inherited patterns so they can become the woman they were born to become. Noni is the author of Holifest, a self-published book that explores manifestation through the integration of mind, body, and soul. She is also the creator of The Archetypal Mare, a body of work inspired by her relationship with her mare, Lacey, and the qualities horses embody so naturally: presence, instinct, clear boundaries, and relational integrity. As host of the podcast Speak Your Truth with Noni Boon, she has shared insights on emotional healing, confidence, grief, relationships, and conscious living. Her writing has appeared in Nature & Health magazine, and she has facilitated women’s groups, workshops, and corporate programs focused on emotional intelligence, resilience, communication, and self-leadership. In addition to her counselling and writing, Noni is an accomplished horsewoman and an acknowledged racehorse retrainer with Queensland Racing. Her lifelong work with horses has become a central influence in her understanding of trust, embodiment, and authentic leadership. Noni lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, where she writes, speaks, mentors, and offers equine-assisted sessions that help women return to the wisdom already living within them Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is loyalty to yourself. It is honouring your boundaries, listening to your instincts, trusting your intuition, and being sovereign, being self governed, self led, not seeking approval from others, and certainly not asking permission to live your life. Her favourite quote is initiated by Lacey. What is meant for you does not require pursuit. It moves towards you when you stop moving away from yourself. Links to follow: Website: https://noniboon.com.au/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/noniboon?igsh=aWRocjk4b21ydjVj&utm_source=qr Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/1CTVa8nWNo/?mibextid=wwXIfr Noni is offering Equine-Assisted Emotional Integration sessions with her mare Lacey. Sessions are priced at $180 and she is kindly offering 20% off for listeners of the Self-Love podcast Quotes: I realised that I was a complete mess, had addictions I didn’t even know I had, I had so much work to do on myself. That was the hardest journey, lifting the carpet and really shaking out from under the carpet, everything that was in my family. If I had the chance to do it again, I would do it so differently. There is no perfect time to become a mum. You get the child that chooses you, and you do the best you can, and that is as good as it gets. There is no right or wrong way. There is no textbook on it. You go in with an open heart. Lacey, has been my greatest teacher and guide to date. I decided on that day that I was going to marry myself. I was going to make a conscious effort to fall more deeply in love with myself because that is what was missing. I will never abandon you. I will always choose myself. I truly believe that you can’t marry another person and fully love another person until you marry yourself and make that vow to yourself and choose yourself. Becoming a counsellor is all about doing the work on yourself first so that you become a clear vessel. You want to integrate every aspect and every part of yourself, but do it consciously, so that it is used in a powerful, meaningful way, rather than in a harmful, destructive way. I only feel now that I am coming into really being the person that I was born to become. Boundaries are an act of self love, boundaries teach other people how to respond to us, how to treat us in life. The most amazing thing about horses is that they don’t apologise for their boundaries, and they don’t have to tell the other horses where their boundaries are. They embody their boundary. Horses only trust people who are congruent and people who are present, and people who are honest and real. She helps me to access parts of myself that I haven’t been able to access in the past. Sovereignty is self governance, self leadership. What we can learn from horses is that we can just let it go. And we can just be in the present moment. Self reflection is the hardest work, because you have to be able to tolerate the uncomfortable feelings that come about through taking responsibility. I don’t believe that anybody needs an expert in their lives to tell them what to do. I believe that everybody has that deep knowing called intuition. Intuition is the deep knowing that is connected with our heart and with our soul. The adult self is the sovereign woman. The instinctive feminine, the wisdom, the woman that we are striving to become. When the 3 archetypes all align, then we become whole and complete, our nervous system relaxes. It is not intellectual. Words are used sometimes, but it is a felt experience They are not mistakes, they are learnings. All we have is the present moment, and just a whole lot of gratitude. SLP 589: Self Love Quicky - The Joy of Reading

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim explores the importance of reading as a powerful act of self-love in today’s fast paced, technology driven world. She shares how reading allows us to slow down, be present, and connect with the thoughts, experiences, and emotions of others, helping to build empathy and inspire personal growth. Kim highlights the unique value of both physical books and audiobooks, encouraging us to make reading a regular self-care practice. She also reminds us of the importance of supporting authors and embracing reading as a simple yet meaningful way to nurture the mind, find inspiration and reconnect with ourselves. Reading is not just consumption, I feel it is about connection. When you open a book, I feel like you just step into someone else’s world. It wakes a part of our imagination and even our hearts can soften. A great book carries energy. It reminds you of the magic of storytelling. There is that wonderful inspirational feeling of reading, the kind that lifts you, grounds you, and reminds you of who you are and who you are becoming. Just a few pages a day can shift your mindset, reset your energy, and even reconnect you to your own beautiful purpose. I think reading is a daily ritual of self love. We don’t just read books. I think we experience them. It is like having a wise friend, a storyteller, or a mentor right there with you. In a world of fast answers, I think reading reminds us to take a breathe, be present and slow down. There is still something magical about holding a book in your hands. Take the time just for you. That is the ultimate act of self love. SLP 588: Within the Space of a Second with Elise Helliwell

In this heartfelt and inspiring episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim speaks with radiographer and author Elise Helliwell who shares her journey from science and motherhood into the world of fiction writing. Elise opens up about how the isolation of COVID lockdowns and her experience with postnatal depression became the catalyst for writing her debut time travel romance novel, Within the Space of a Second. The conversation explores creativity, imagination, and the healing power of storytelling, as Elise discusses her writing process, character development, and the craft books that helped shape her work. She also gives us a glimpse into the next instalment of her trilogy and shares her dream of one day seeing the series adapted for film. Filled with insight, warmth, and encouragement, this episode is a reminder to listen to your creative whispers, make space for what lights you up, and trust that it is never too late to begin. About Elise Elise Helliwell resides on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, with her husband and two cheeky girls. An avid romance reader, Elise writes contemporary and sci-fi/fantasy romance, juggling themes of love, anticipation and emotional angst. Part time radiographer and full time hopeless romantic, Elise’s writing combines her love of science and the romance genre to produce suspenseful, swoon-worthy love stories that will keep readers falling until the very last page. Elis’s debut, Within the Space of a Second is a slow-burn, swoon-worthy love story about two people separated by time and the dangerous secrets that threaten to tear them apart. A debut time travel romance for fans of The Seven Year Slip, Divine Rivals and A Discovery of Witches. Out now in paperback, audiobook and electronic formats. Her definition of Self Love is: My definition of self love is giving myself the time and space to be creative Her favourite quote is: If you don’t come out of this quarantine with either a new skill, starting what you have been putting off, like a new business, or more knowledge, you never lacked the time you lacked the discipline Links to follow: Website: www.elisehelliwell.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elisehelliwellauthor/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61564569088617 Quotes: I would describe myself as bubbly, positive and not afraid of a challenge. I never thought that I would write a book. I just couldn’t find the book that I wanted to read. So I thought, I will just write it. There was this fear that people would say, you know, she is not a writer, she is a science girl, she is a radiographer. I believed in the story. I knew that even though I wasn’t the best writer in the world, I knew that I could learn and I was determined to. I believe that anyone who wants to write, they should, because the only way that you get better is by continuing to practice that skill. Writing was my escape from all the things going on in life that I was struggling with. Writing was the thing that saved me. I think letting your imagination run wild is a beautiful thing. There is this thing that I love to do, that I never even knew I could do. It isn’t art, but it’s an art that can be taught and can be learned, which is what I love. I think since the age of time, we have always been storytellers. It is just having the courage to listen to that whisper and begin writing if you want to. If you have those little whispers and you push them aside, it is a real missed opportunity because you never know where it might lead and how it might help you in the future. Writing is my mental health time. You can’t edit a blank page. Creativity comes in all forms. So don’t be afraid to find yours and embrace it and listen to that little whisper. SLP 587: Self Love Quicky - What Does Being Soulful Really Mean?

In this Self Love Podcast Quicky, Kim explores what it truly means to live a soulful life in a world that often glorifies busyness and constant productivity. She shares her perspective that soulfulness is not about spirituality or achieving more, but about being fully present in the moments that make up our lives. Whether it’s lingering over a meal with friends, enjoying a quiet cup of tea, or taking a slow walk in nature, Kim reminds us that the most meaningful experiences often come when we allow ourselves to simply be. Being soulful means giving yourself permission to ponder, to reflect, to dream, to feel, to be. It means not measuring every moment by its productivity, but by its presence. The soul does not thrive in constant urgency. It flourishes in spaciousness. Perhaps self-love today isn’t about doing more. Life is not a race to be won. But an experience to be deeply, truly felt. A soulful life is not found somewhere in the future. It is waiting for us right here, right now in this very moment.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. The soulful long lunches were born because of connection and to be inspired and then be nourished on all levels. I have always loved events and experiences and authentic connection with community. As daunting as it can be to arrive at an event by yourself, we do have a lot of people that do it and they connect with others straight away. It is a time to pause and come into the space, come into that moment of time. I want people to go away with some tools that they can use in their daily lives. I wanted to tie in just a bit more of an authentic experience where we are around a dining table and we do have that connection. I wanted to make it a bit more accessible to people as well. Simplify as much as possible and finding those things in your life that make you feel connected. Connection with beautiful food and then connection with people. Those people that fulfil your cup and make you feel light and bright, stay with them and feel that connection. Cyndi When the ecology is working, the plants are working, the animals are healthy, the plants are healthy, and then we eat foods that are highly nutritious. When we nourish our body because we are eating foods that are nourished by our farmer and then cooked by the chef. There are many ingredients for health. It is not just nutrition, it is sunshine, movement, connection. I do it for me and my family foremost. As I learn, I teach. When we learn and we educate, you don’t know the lives that you are changing. We try and be the best that we can and then that knock on effect happens. I think we are in a bubble, but the bubble’s bigger than it was when I started this back in the 80s. I always believe when you have a philosophy, then you know exactly what you should be eating. It is nice to have praise to know you are on the right track. Community is really important. Connect and support your community and that will help with commerce. Buy local as much as you can buy from your local people.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 584: Healing From the Inside Out with Elyse Comerford

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with nutritionist and founder of Wellbelly Health Clinic, Elyse Comerford, for a deeply inspiring conversation on holistic health, gut healing, motherhood, and self-love. Elyse shares her powerful journey of becoming a single mother while completing her nutrition studies and building a thriving wellness business grounded in a client centered, root cause approach to healing. Together, they explore the impact of sunlight, circadian rhythms, nutrition, screen time, and modern lifestyle habits on children’s and adult health, while offering practical and accessible ways to reconnect with nature and support wellbeing. The conversation also dives into self-trust, authentic living, and Elyse’s philosophy of self-love as honouring your inner knowing and taking aligned action. Filled with wisdom, honesty, and grounded health insights, this episode is a reminder that healing often begins with simplicity, connection, and returning to what feels true. About Elyse Elyse Comerford is a Clinical Nutritionist, business owner, wife, mother, and founder of Well Belly Health, known for her grounded and honest approach to wellness. After overcoming her own complex health challenges, she became passionate about helping others understand the deeper connection between the gut, nervous system, metabolism, and overall wellbeing. Alongside her work, Elyse is deeply family-oriented and passionate about creating a simple, connected life centred around health, presence, and living in alignment with what truly matters. Through her clinic, programs, and online education, she is helping people move away from fear-based health culture and toward a more sustainable, resilient approach to healing and living well. Her definition of Self Love is: My definition of self love would be listening. It is listening to what it is you are needing or what is trying to be expressed and following it. I think the biggest act of self-love is actually feeling a need or a desire, hearing it and then doing it. Her favourite quote is from: David White poem titled “All the True Vows” All the true vows are secret vows the ones we speak out loud are the ones we break. There is only one life you can call your own and a thousand others you can call by any name you want. Hold to the truth you make every day with your own body, don’t turn your face away. Hold to your own truth at the center of the image you were born with. Those who do not understand their destiny will never understand the friends they have made nor the work they have chosen nor the one life that waits beyond all the others. By the lake in the wood in the shadows you can whisper that truth to the quiet reflection you see in the water. Whatever you hear from the water, remember, it wants you to carry the sound of its truth on your lips. Remember, in this place no one can hear you and out of the silence you can make a promise it will kill you to break, that way you’ll find what is real and what is not. I know what I am saying. Time almost forsook me and I looked again. Seeing my reflection I broke a promise and spoke for the first time after all these years in my own voice, before it was too late to turn my face again. Links to follow: Website: www.wellbellyhealth.com.au Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elysenutritionist Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/elysehealth Quotes: My journey to get there is a lifelong one. Our clinic is different in the approach that we take. It is truly root cause and really looking at the person and what is going on. I call it client centred, not protocol centred, in the way that we work. We are living very different lifestyles to what we were designed for. There is a lot of stress, a lot of sensory input and overload. We need lots of sunshine, we need to be in a relaxed brainwave states for majority of our day. The light drives our energy production more than food does. Getting out in the sunshine is just a basic human need. I don’t ever try and convince anyone. People want to believe whatever they want to believe. You can prove something not to be true, but not so easy to prove something to be absolutely 100%. Think of how humans were meant to live. We are meant to function with the natural light. We just need to go back and think of having some real food at each meal. No protocol can ever be designed to be perfect for everyone. The people who live the longest, healthiest, happiest lives are not restrictive around what they eat. Do the best with what you can. Perfection is not a way to grow, and courage comes through taking action. I had a really strong belief that I am destined for something good, and I just need to keep moving towards it. I have a choice of the direction of my life. My intention in my business is that I want to help the most people for the least amount of money. I want to break that stigma that you have to spend a lot of money in order to work on your health. Honouring that yearning is the biggest act of self love.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 583: Self Love Quicky - Honouring Every Stage of Womanhood

In this heartfelt Quicky of the Self Love podcast, Kim invites women to honour every phase and season of womanhood. From the innocence of the little girl to the curiosity of the maiden, the depth of the mother and the wisdom of the wise woman. This episode explores the sacredness of ageing and challenges the modern fear of growing older, reminding us that women are not meant to fade with age, but to fully arrive into their wisdom, truth and sovereignty. Through reflections on ancient rites of passage, self-love rituals, and deep self-acceptance, Kim encourages woman to embrace where they are right now without resistance or comparison. A beautiful reminder that every stage holds purpose, power, grace, resilience, and magic. This journey is not about losing ourselves, but remembering who we have always been. There is a rhythm to being a woman. There is a quiet, powerful unfolding that moves through every season and chapter of our life. Every stage is sacred and each one asks something different of us, and each one holds its own kind of magic. Instead of cursing getting older, what if we could actually honour and celebrate it as they do in many ancient cultures. We have stopped celebrating the becoming. We were taught to hold on to youth instead of rising into wisdom. We are not meant to disappear as we age. The wise woman is not less than, she is the embodiment of everything that has come before her. There is nothing more powerful than a woman who honours where she is right now in this moment, without rushing, without resisting, without wishing it away. This isn’t a journey of losing yourself. It is a journey of remembering who you have always been.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. She opens up about motherhood, raising four children, navigating the realities of elite sport, supporting a son in professional rugby, and the emotional impact of social media criticism and mental health pressures within high performance environments. Together, Kim and Jo explore the transitions of perimenopause and menopause, body image, strength training, movement, ageing well and learning to protect your peace. This episode is filled with wisdom, warmth, humour and the kind of deep connection that only decades long friendship can bring. It is a powerful reminder that women need women, that community matters, and that every stage of life offers us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves with courage, authenticity and grace. About Jo Jo had a varied cultural life growing up. Her dad, an Engineer, was based in Indonesia in the 70s so the family lived the expat community life in her early years. Schooling was in Auckland and Jo along with her 2 siblings found passion in Waterpolo, going on to represent NZ at both age group and then the NZ women’s team for a number of year. This set her on her pathway to training in Physical Education while competing all over the world in her chosen sport. Jo has had the privilege of becoming qualified in a number of fields in her adult life. A trained Secondary Physical Education teacher since 1994 she taught and lectured until about 2003. While taking time out to start and grow a family, she retrained in Childbirth Education and began her own business, Birthwise, in the Franklin District in Auckland in 2002. These private Antenatal education classes grew her passion for empowering women and their support networks to guide them through their journey to parenthood and beyond. It is still a vocation she is passionate about to date. Jo and her husband Mark completed their family (three sons and a daughter) in 2006 and her journey with Pilates began in 2008. It was recommended to her to help strengthen a weakened low back and pelvic floor after having 4 children. After seeing the immense benefits in such a short amount of time, she had the opportunity to begin training in the STOTT PILATES® method. In 2012 she successfully completed her intensive training and rigorous examination process to become a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor in mat work, reformer, cadillac, chair and barrels. JPILATES was the next step in this amazing journey and a way to continue to do something she was passionate about from home, while juggling a busy household. Hence its birth in 2013. Nowadays the kids have left home and creating their magic all over the world. Jo’s business is thriving with about 120 client and the introduction of Pilates to more men which is exciting. She has always prided herself in creating not just an environment for people to come and move but a community to support each other. Her definition of Self Love is: My thought process on self-love has changed through my years of growing and it has been shaped on my experiences both in my own body and the environment around me. My values have changed. It is what I truly need right now. I think my version of self-love changes in small ways, from week to week, day to day. Self-love at the moment for me means being selfish even when it’s hard. Her favourite quote is: Gratitude is the ultimate bio hack & the best investment you can ever make is in yourself. Links to follow: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jpilates.2013/ Quotes: We have always been a family that have been very active. I was blessed enough back in the 80s and 90s to represent New Zealand. It has taken me all over the world playing for national teams. Everything was self-funded and mum and dad did everything to allow us to be able to do that which was fascinating. Pilates was introduced to me after 4 children, 4 big babies and needing to strengthen a weakened back and weak pelvic floor. I have been really lucky over the time that I have been able to reinvent myself half a dozen times. The focus has always still been on educating. At the backbone of it all, it has been about movement and exercise, which I am so passionate about. I feel blessed that as I have moved through my lifestyle and my family’s that I have been able to work alongside raising a family. Not many people can say that they got a lifelong friend like that. It was some of the best years but also some of the hardest. It made me resilient to spend time in my own company. It made me such a strong mother being able to bring up my children on my own when he was travelling so much. I look back now with pride. We made a conscious decision for me not to work. My family is my world. Wherever I am with my kids, that place becomes my favourite place. These people are human beings. We all make mistakes, learn from our mistakes, grow from our mistakes and we strengthen from our mistakes. Courage and confidence essential oil has been what has got me through every single rugby game. Stillness makes you fragile and movement makes you unbreakable. There is always something you can do to retain and maintain your strength. I ask does this serve me? Am I protecting my peace and my energy? Am I a good role model for the people around me? I have learnt to say no without more explanation. I have learnt to allow myself the space to rest and recharge. I am learning to love my new body with less judgement and more acceptance. For me I need to protect the energy in my home. Like attracts like. I have created a community of people. When we have a small group of women that you can go through life with and share every single moment with and not be judged and be there to support us, is the biggest act of self love.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 581: Self Love Quicky - The Greatest Love Story is the one with YOU

In this weeks quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim discusses the importance of personal evolution and growth as a fundamental aspect of self love. She emphasises that true self love involves the courage to understand oneself deeply and the willingness to evolve beyond old patterns and beliefs. Kim explains that growth is a natural rhythm of life, similar to how nature and seasons change, and she encourages us to embrace change rather than staying stuck out of fear. She highlights that awareness creates choice and that meeting oneself with compassion rather than judgment is the ultimate act of self- love. Kim invites us to reflect on areas where we might be called to evolve and suggests resources for those ready to deepen their self understanding and growth. It is found in your willingness to understand who you really are. Self love is ultimately the courage to truly know yourself. Evolution is one of the most natural rhythms of life. You are here to awaken. Your triggers, all the things that activate you or push buttons, are in fact your greatest teachers. Shadow work is about bringing light to the unconscious parts of you that have been driving your behaviours without you even knowing it. The moment you become aware of your patterns, or your limiting beliefs, or your sabotaging behaviour, you stop living on autopilot. Instead of judging yourself, you start to meet yourself with compassion. It is not about perfection, but compassion. Living your best life is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more you. Self love is not a destination. It is a lifelong journey of awareness, healing, growth, compassion and evolution   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 580: Rewire, Evolve and Expand with Paul Eliseo

In this episode, Kim speaks with Paul Eliseo who shares his powerful journey from struggling with anxiety and panic attacks as a teenager to becoming a respected mind-body coach, hypnotherapist and NLP trainer. The conversation explores how our identity, unconscious beliefs, and emotional triggers shape the reality we experience, and how awareness can become the catalyst for lasting personal transformation. Paul and Kim dive into topics including mindset, self-reflection, money beliefs, emotional triggers, and the brain’s filtering systems, offering practical insights for reframing limiting patterns and creating new possibilities. They also discuss the importance of conscious growth, self-love, and evolving beyond old identities, while sharing exciting updates about upcoming NLP and hypnotherapy trainings, future programs, and a new chapter ahead for Paul and Juliet as they prepare for major life and business changes About Paul Paul Eliseo is the founder and head presenter for Personal Development companies Evolve & Relaunch and Evolve Mind & Body Coaching. Paul presents courses and workshops all over Australia and has presented to businesses such as ANZ, WESTPAC, BANK SA and has also presented at the mental health conference, the Whole Life expo and the senior’s convention. Paul teaches and mentors people to take a holistic approach to create success. His definition of Self Love is: Self love is understanding your values and understanding that you have a unique point of view and perspective of the world and loving and accepting that. Self love is acknowledging and accepting yourself as you are, but also acknowledging, if you want to change, allowing yourself to do that. It is living your values and noticing that everyone does have different values and just being authentically true to you. His favourite quote is: It is never too late to relaunch your life from Juliet Lever. If I could start to master what is happening in my head, my body will follow. As my fears grew bigger, my world grew smaller. The ones that really made the shifts were the ones that the mindset was aligned to it. Pain is the thing that will bring the most awareness and attention to you. PAIN- Pay attention, Integrate now. Most of what we do throughout the day is unconscious. Reality itself is an illusion. We need to constantly update our maps and models of the world because the world is changing all the time. MAP- Models, Associations and Programming. We are going to find things that are aligned with what we think and feel about ourselves. The world mirrors you. You update the software on your phone more than you update the software in your head, You can’t escape yourself. So wherever you go, you are going to be there. If your identity and your beliefs and your values don’t match your goals, you are going to fall to the level of what you have unconsciously got running in the background. The event doesn’t mean anything. We make meaning out of nature and reality. You have the power. What we see and judge in others we are unconsciously doing that to ourselves. If you have a trigger, it has a lot of energy. Shit is fertiliser for growth. Nothing outside of you can hurt you unless you let it. You can evolve by choice or by chance. The world doesn’t have to change, the way you see the world can change. People feel their best when they are growing and progressing. Challenge yourself in a way that inspires you, because you are going to be challenged anyway. Confusion always just means you are doing something you haven’t done yet. Whatever is happening in your world is perfect for you right now and just enjoy the ride.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 579: Self Love Quicky - Love Your Hormones

In this Quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim explores how to reframe the relationship with hormones and the body by seeing hormones as messengers rather than problems to fix. She encourages us to view the body as an intelligent ecosystem, paying attention to signs like fatigue or irritability as important forms of communication instead of something to suppress. Kim shares a powerful message around self-love, body acceptance, and gratitude, inviting us to appreciate our body’s natural ability to restore balance and to practice speaking lovingly to ourselves in the mirror. This episode is a reminder that true self-love comes from listening to, honouring and trusting the body with compassion and reverence. Your hormones are messengers constantly communicating with what you need. They are just signs that something within you is asking to be heard. Your body is not a machine. It is a deeply intelligent intuitive, ever changing ecosystem. Every cycle, every shift, every sensation. It is part of the intricate, miraculous design of being a woman. Instead of comparing your body to someone else’s, come home to your own. Instead of asking, what’s wrong with me, what if you could ask, what do I need right now? Self love is not about controlling the body, it’s about listening to it, honouring it, and being in awe of it. Everything that your body gives you is a sacred signal, guiding you back to you, to yourself.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 578: The Period Whisperer: Dr Andrea Huddleston on Women, Wellness and Wisdom

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim Morrison speaks with integrative chiropractor and women’s health expert Dr Andrea Huddleston about supporting hormonal health through every stage of a woman’s life. Andrea shares how her personal family experiences led her into reproductive and hormonal health care and explains why many symptoms women are told to “just live with” are often signs of deeper imbalances that can be addressed holistically. Together, they explore the menstrual cycle, stress, sleep, nutrition, perimenopause, menopause, cholesterol and the powerful connection between hormones, the nervous system, and overall wellbeing. Andrea offers practical insights into supporting hormone health through protein, healthy fats, blood sugar balance, weight training, stress reduction, and community connection, while also discussing the role of chiropractic care and individualised approaches to wellness. The conversation also reframes perimenopause as a sacred recalibration rather than a decline in a woman’s life. Dr Andrea would be delighted to return for a future Q&A episode focused on women’s health. If you have any questions you would like addressed, please send them to [email protected] About Dr Andrea Dr Andrea Huddleston is a leading global authority in women’s health and a respected educator, speaker, and clinician whose work is helping redefine how women are supported through every stage of life. She is an integrative chiropractor with two postgraduate Master’s degrees in Women’s Health Medicine and Reproductive Medicine, her work spans hormones, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, menstrual health, and perimenopause, with a strong focus on translating complex science into meaningful, practical support for women. Andrea is the owner of Sage Health, a multidisciplinary women’s health practice in Fremantle, and is the co-host of the award-winning Wellness Women Radio podcast, Andrea connects with millions of listeners worldwide who have affectionately titled her ‘The Period Whisperer’ ! However, most importantly, she’s an avid coffee addict and ‘crazy dog lady’! Her definition of Self Love is: My definition of self love is an honouring of our highest good. What is in your true heart of hearts. What is going to give you the most joy and the most peace. Her favourite quote is: Women are the closest thing a man knows to God. All of the women around me were dotted with some sort of hormonal dysfunction. Women go through the most excruciating pain and dysfunction that is not normal. This is my life’s work. I am so incredibly passionate about supporting women and helping them to know that all of those symptoms and that suffering is not normal. We are designed for hormonal balance for the entirety of our life. The modern life that we are exposed to is not conducive for balance. The way that we view the incredible, beautiful design of a woman’s body is so distorted. There are oestrogen receptors on almost every single part of our body, which goes to show that it has a role to play in almost all our functions. Progesterone is nature’s Valium. Our bodies are just so remarkable and extraordinary. Our bodies are so intelligent. Nurturing the nervous system is imperative. Sometimes eating breakfast, eating a protein rich breakfast, can be one of the most nurturing things that they can do for themselves and their hormones. Women have a biological imperative to spend time with their girlfriends. When women spend time with other women, it reduces our cortisol and it increases our progesterone. That time that they are spending with girlfriends is critical. It is the tending and befriending that women need as part of their stress reduction strategy. The nervous system is your flow of consciousness. It controls and regulates every part of your body. The body gives us this beautiful roadmap of everything that is going on. Perimenopause absolutely does not have to be the beginning of the end. It really is a sacred recalibration.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 577: Self Love Quicky - Being a Good Human

In this heartfelt Quicky, Kim explores what it truly means to be a “good human.” Moving beyond the pressure of perfection, she gently reminds us that it’s not about getting everything right, but about how we choose to show up in each moment. With honesty and warmth, Kim reflects on the power of self-care, kindness, and conscious living, encouraging us to meet ourselves with softness rather than judgment. She reframes life’s challenges as opportunities for growth, inviting us to shift from resistance to curiosity, and to see every experience as a chance to learn more about ourselves. Whether it’s finding courage in difficult moments, allowing space for rest, or simply taking a breath, Kim highlights that giving your best will look different every day and that’s perfectly okay. This episode is a gentle call to live with greater awareness, to be present in our lives, and to extend the same compassion inward that we so often offer others. It’s a reminder that being a good human starts with being real, being kind, and being willing to grow through it all. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. It’s in those quiet moments, how we speak to ourselves when no one is listening. Being a good human means choosing care. It means nourishing yourself, not punishing yourself. It means kindness, not just to others, but to you. When you soften toward yourself. We naturally soften toward the world. No one’s going to escape the tough times. A good human doesn’t avoid the challenge. They lean in and they rise through it. Every experience, every single one of them is shaping you into who you are becoming. We don’t have forever. Our time here is precious. It is about living consciously. The world isn’t asking you for perfection or to be a perfect person. The world right now needs real people, willing to grow, willing to learn, willing to love.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 576: Discipline, Presence and the Journey Back to Self with Aaron Brooks

In this deeply personal conversation on the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with Aaron Brooks, a respected real estate leader whose success has been shaped as much by adversity as it has by ambition. From his upbringing in West Auckland to the profound loss of his mother, Aaron shares the raw and defining moments that tested his resilience and ultimately reshaped his life. He opens up about the difficult period following his mother’s passing, including his struggle with prescription medication, and the turning point that called him back to himself through discipline, accountability and a commitment to growth. Aaron’s honesty extends into his role as a father and leader, where vulnerability and strength coexist. Whether navigating solo parenting, redefining masculinity, or leading a large real estate network with a values first approach, he speaks to the importance of character, consistency and emotional awareness. His insights on managing trauma, handling triggers, and choosing responsibility over blame offer a grounded and practical perspective on healing. This episode is a reminder that life’s hardest chapters can become the foundation for meaningful change and that true leadership begins within. About Aaron: Aaron started his real estate career 1992 as the first ever real estate cadet in Australia and was awarded in 1993 and 1994 as Ray White Cadet of the Year. Aaron went to NZ as an Office Manager / Auctioneer with the company Harvey’s in Auckland where he ran two offices in 1997 and 1998. I know I have got a big heart and I care. I am a constant learner. I have a genuine interest in helping people create the best version of themselves. You can’t leave your heart at home when you go to work. If I don’t get a genuine vibe that they are a decent human being, then I don’t want to introduce them to our work family. Once I lost my ego, I didn’t have to prove anything to anybody else. All I had to do was prove things to myself. If you are in my circle, you are in my circle of love and protection. When I lost my mum, it was the biggest low in my life. I would rather get people to like the real me than a version I am pretending to be. Motivation might get you started, but discipline will take you where you need to be. If you put yourself in any environment, you have got to uplift it. That is my responsibility, bringing the energy to that environment. If I am going to be the best version of me then I need to work hard on me. I don’t play the blame game. If something happens, what part of this do I own? I always accept responsibility for my part in that. You never really lose in any situation if you learn out of it. You have got two choices. You get bitter or you get better. I have enough energy for today, tomorrow can wait. I am not afraid to ask people for help. The truth will set you free. My religion is kindness. SLP 575: Self Love Quicky - What is Identity?

In this week’s Self-Love Podcast Quicky, Kim explores the concept of identity and how it can be shaped and redefined. She explains that identity is not fixed but rather a story we tell ourselves, influenced by experiences, beliefs and environment. Kim shares five tips for creating a healthy relationship with identity. She emphasises that a healthy identity is responsive and allows for evolution, encouraging us to recognise they are not defined by past experiences, labels, or thoughts but rather by our awareness and ability to grow. But in truth, it is more like the story we tell ourselves about who we are. From a neuroscience perspective, identity is not fixed. Your identity is not actually set in stone. It is practised. These are not truths. They are just interpretations or perceptions. When we over identify with these labels, we limit our ability to grow. One is fixed and almost taking ownership of it. The other is fluid and shows adaptability. A healthy identity is not rigid, it is responsive. Language shapes perception. Who would you be without that story? Stay curious, not critical. You are not your past. You are not your labels   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 574: Embracing Change and Ceremony with Bianca Caruana

In this heartfelt episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with ceremonial guide and founder of the Goddess Temple Brisbane, Bianca Caruana, to explore the sacred nature of life’s transitions and the powerful role ceremony can play in helping women navigate them with grace and self-compassion. Bianca shares her journey from a corporate career to holding space for women through rites of passage offering insight into how honouring these thresholds can deepen connection to self, community, and ancestral wisdom. Together, Kim and Bianca reflect on the beauty and challenge of change, discussing how life’s darker seasons can become fertile ground for growth when met with compassion rather than resistance. Bianca speaks candidly about her own path of healing and the practices that helped her reconnect with self-love, including ritual, ceremony, and simple acts of kindness toward herself. The conversation weaves through themes of feminine cycles, spiritual exploration, and the importance of remembering our connection to nature and the rhythms that guide our lives. They also explore the transformative power of gathering in circle, with Bianca sharing guidance for women who feel called to create safe, supportive spaces for connection and storytelling in their own communities. This soulful conversation is an invitation to honour life’s transitions, trust the wisdom within our challenges, and reclaim the sacredness of the feminine journey About Bianca Bianca Caruana is a ceremonial guide and author whose work explores identity, rites of passage and the transitions we are rarely taught how to navigate. After experiencing anxiety and a deep sense of misalignment in corporate life, Bianca stepped away from her career and spent several years travelling in search of a more meaningful and connected way of living. That journey led her back to herself and shaped the work she now shares with others. Today, she is the founder of The Goddess Temple Brisbane, a community space where she supports women through life’s transitions with greater awareness and connection. Through gatherings such as women’s circles, Red Tent circles and grief ceremonies, she creates spaces for women to reconnect with themselves and navigate change in a more supported and meaningful way. Her definition of Self Love is: For me, self-love is allowing yourself to be you in your truest form as you are. No judgement and honouring yourself where you are at and knowing that you have done the best you can. Her favourite quote is from: Jaiya John from the Poem Daughter Drink This Water This world can erode girls strip away their foundation of self-love. The act is gradual, can be inviting. One day you naturally feed yourself what feels good to your soul. Another day you find yourself as a woman so far out to sea, you cannot see your soul. To be well as a woman is to choose continuous resistance to this subtle erosion, persistence, whole keeping, many want to break you down, fraction you up, tear you into parts, stay whole, surround yourself with wholeness and whole keepers. Make your freedom sing. You are everything. I feel like I have been many women in this life. I am really passionate about holding people and guiding people through life thresholds. Our identities can change by choice and they can also change just by something naturally or an impactful life event. A lot of that identity, it didn’t come so much from who I wanted to be from the inside out. It came from who I was expected to be from the outside in. I became so deeply interested in the concept of death and rebirth, not so much as a finality, but as a continual event that happens throughout our life, which deeply relates to the feminine. We know cycle, we know death, we know cycle every single month. We know cycle throughout our whole lives. Seeds grow in the dark. The sun will come eventually. There is a synergy that comes from a shared intent. We fear change because we don’t necessarily want to have the go through the challenging times. Healing is your capacity to hold the pain. The pain in the darkness is here. Let’s just watch it and allow it to flow through. Life happens for us. I have always believed in the magic of life. I am a soul on a long journey. We have guidance from those that have come before us. Anxiety is your body saying, excuse me, something feels unaligned. Depression is translated to deep rest. Be like the tree. Let’s honour what we were and bring forth who we will become. Self-love is turning that loving kindness inwards. Sometimes for many of us, sharing our challenge is the process of healing it. We need spaces where there is absolutely no judgement in the room. Little by little it starts to unravel the masks so that you can feel safe and comfortable to be as you are.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 573: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Giving

In this heartfelt Quicky, the power of giving is explored as a beautiful act of self-love in action. Through the lens of Farm Angels and the vital support they provide to rural and farming families, this episode reminds us that even the smallest act of generosity can offer hope, connection, and practical care to those doing it tough. Kim encourages us to support the causes that move our hearts, knowing that giving is never about the amount, but the intention behind it. This is a powerful reminder that when we give from a place of love, we create a ripple effect of kindness, compassion, and abundance for others and within ourselves. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Quotes: I have always advocated that self love isn’t just about what we do for ourselves, it is also about how we can show up in the world. Supporting charities, especially those doing incredible work in our own communities, is one of the most powerful acts of love we can offer, both to others and to ourselves. When we give, something shifts in us. To someone doing it tough, it can truly mean hope. These incredible souls are the very people who feed us, sustain us, clothe us and quietly carry so much. I think it starts with what moves your heart, what stories touch you. Giving isn’t really about the amount. It is about the intention. When you give from a place of love, you expand your own sense of abundance. I think together we can create a ripple effect of kindness, compassion, love, and care. You never know the ripple effect of that donation and what it is going to do for someone who is really in need.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 572: Tash Johnston: The Heart Behind Farm Angels

This week Kim speaks with Tash Johnston, founder of Farm Angels, who shares her journey from growing up on farms near Brisbane to creating a national charity supporting farmers through drought, flood, and hardship after a tragic suicide in her community. She opens up about personal experiences with family, grief, and forgiveness that shaped her passion for mental health support, alongside the evolution of Farm Angels from a small grassroots effort into an organisation that has raised over $20 million and supported thousands of rural families. This conversation highlights the harsh realities facing Australian farmers, including mental health challenges, financial strain and a disconnect with government and urban communities, while also exploring solutions through education, advocacy and community support. Tash reflects on receiving major honours such as the Queensland Local Hero Award and an Order of Australia Medal, and shares her vision to expand Farm Angels nationwide, calling for greater awareness, volunteer support and collective action to better support the people who feed the country. This episode is a powerful reminder that behind every farm is a family, and even the smallest act of kindness or support can help carry them through their toughest seasons. About Tash Natasha (Tash) Johnston OAM, is the Founder and Chief Angel of Farm Angels, one of Australia’s most respected rural charities supporting primary producers, their families and rural communities impacted by natural disasters and other significant challenges. Tash’s journey began with a deep connection to regional life, having grown up in Brisbane while spending significant time in rural communities and finishing her senior schooling years in Toowoomba. Her career path, from administration and accounts to small business ownership, reflects a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to people, one that continues to shape everything she does today. What started in 2014 as a single act of kindness, loading up a ute with supplies for a struggling farming family, has grown into a national charity that’s raised more than $20 million and supported thousands of farming families across more than 1,500 rural communities through some of their toughest times. From drought and floods to fires, cyclones and pest plagues, Tash and the Farm Angels team have been there on the ground, reducing social isolation and delivering practical help and emotional support where it’s needed most in rural Australia. Tash’s contribution has been recognised through numerous honours, including Queensland Local Hero and the Courier Mail Queenslander of the Year in 2021, and the award of the Order of Australia Medal in 2025 for her service to rural communities. Despite the growth of Farm Angels, Tash remains hands-on and involved in every part of the organisation. She continues to live by her personal ethos: “No farmer will go without food on their table while I have food on mine.” This belief has become the foundation of Farm Angels and a promise that continues to deliver practical support, dignity, and hope to the communities that feed and sustain our nation Her definition of Self Love is: For me Self Love right now is learning to say no. Taking time for yourself. You can’t give to somebody from an empty bucket. Taking a little time for yourself and doing whatever it is that lights you up Her favourite quote is from: The Art of Spending Money Tend to the small things. More people are defeated by blisters than mountains Links to follow: Website: www.farmangels.org.au Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/farmangelsau Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FarmAngelsAu/ Quotes: I just wanted to do something to stop another farmer from taking their life because that just broke my heart. I thought we would be doing it for 3 to 6 months and the rain would come and the drought was going to break. It probably wasn’t until years later that I really appreciated the mess that they were in and the burden that took on Mum and Dad. Through that process, it helped me to understand what my Mum went through and why she was the way that she was. It enabled me to heal that and forgive her. For me, I just wanted to do something to support people. The support that people gave us was amazing. There is, and still is, a very big disconnect between the city and the country. There is a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that goes on behind the scenes by farming families or community to get that food onto the table. We lose a farmer every 10 days to suicide in this country. 75% of Australian farmers don’t feel appreciated. People need to trust that our farmers are doing their best for their land. We have to do better. I really think it is getting back to the younger generations now to really educate them on the importance of our farmer. We have got to get back to basics and stop making everything so damn difficult. Our original mission was to just stop farmers from taking their lives and remind them that there is help there available for them. Our farmers support team are made up of farmers, people that have grown up rurally and have an understanding of life on the land. It is the little things that have the biggest impact with our farmers. We want them to feel seen and heard and appreciated. I am passionate about our farmers and always will be. At the end of the day every single one of us needs a farmer, a minimum three times a day. The barriers are getting knocked down and farmers are starting to reach out for assistance. We don’t do charity. We are just simply giving you a thank you. At the end of the day without a farmer, we are all hungry, naked and thirsty Enjoy taking that break for yourself and looking after yourself because you are important and you do matter. I never underestimate how much you donate to any charity because that dollar can be life changing   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 571: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Hunger

In this week’s Quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim redefines hunger as a powerful, evolutionary signal rather than something to fear or suppress. She explores how hunger can act as a form of inner wisdom guiding us not only toward physical nourishment but also toward deeper needs like rest, connection, purpose, and creativity. By distinguishing between true hunger and malnutrition, Kim invites you to view cravings through a more compassionate and curious lens. Through personal insights and simple, practical strategies like pausing, hydrating, enjoying herbal tea, or taking a walk she encourages a moment of reflection before automatically reaching for food. Kim also acknowledges that nutritional needs can vary, especially for those with active lifestyles, reinforcing the importance of tuning into your body’s unique signals. Ultimately, this episode is a gentle reminder that true nourishment goes beyond food. By learning to listen to what hunger is really trying to communicate, we can build a more mindful, connected and self-loving relationship with ourselves. Hunger is actually wisdom. Hunger is the very signal that keeps us alive, moving, seeking, and growing. Without hunger, there is no drive. Hunger is communication. It is your body speaking. It is your soul nudging. It is your life force asking, what do I really need right now? Hunger can be your teacher. Sometimes you are hungry for rest, for connection, for purpose, meaning, or love. Hunger can sharpen your awareness. It is a wonderful reminder that you are alive. Learn to listen, to lean in, to honour, to respond with wisdom, not fear. Pause, take a breathe and ask yourself what is this really about? Within that space is where deep nourishment lives. You are designed to feel all the feels. Hunger is simply part of your becoming. It is a lesson. Ninety nine percent of people are good people. I am not their God. Do the right thing always, be a good person, I teach my kids how to have integrity. That is not a reflection of you, that is a reflection of who they are right now in their life. You are put on this world to be a leader for the people that are not so good at leading right now. Do the right thing when no one is watching. Don’t be afraid to change or pivot if something is not working. You haven’t failed. You have just learned a lot of lessons. You have got to be cautious, aware, and you can’t be naive. Kids are so intuitive. I believe that a family, a mum and a dad should do what is right for their family alone. If we just stop judging others and go, they are doing the best they can. There is a place one hundred percent for Western medicine. We live as holistically as we can. Our supplements were created for families. We wanted to create supplements that were clean for both adults and children. Nothing was created without a purpose. Keeping it simple is sometimes the best thing. Protein and strength training is critical in perimenopause and menopause. I truly believe our nutrition evolves with our age. What works for you is what matters. When you truly are in your power of self love, you turn up better for others. Those people that are hateful, it is never about me, it is about them. You don’t know what you don’t know until you know it. Right now where you are is where you are supposed to be. SLP 569: Self Love Quicky - How to Handle Negativity and Judgement From Others

In this week’s Quicky of the Self-Love Podcast, Kim explores how to navigate judgement and criticism from others while staying grounded in self worth. She shares the powerful reminder that criticism often reflects the other person’s beliefs and experiences, not your truth. Kim walks through practical ways to respond to negativity, including pausing before reacting, staying aligned with your values, recognising projection, choosing compassion and setting healthy boundaries. Through personal insight and relatable examples, she encourages you to protect your peace without closing your hearts. At its core, this episode is a reminder that being authentic matters more than being liked. Kim invites you to release the need for external approval and instead anchor into self-love, integrity and confidence in who you truly are. Every comment, every judgement, every criticism, is filtered through their beliefs, their experiences, their wounds, their fears and their conditioning. When someone judges you, they are not seeing you clearly. They are seeing you through the lens of who they are. Taking something personally is essentially saying, that opinion is the truth about me. Your confidence may trigger their insecurity. Your freedom, or the way you live your life, may challenge their fears around life. Invite compassion over contraction. Hurt people are often the ones that hurt people. You can be open hearted and still say, this energy is not welcome in my space. The moment you start shaping yourself to avoid judgement is the moment you have abandoned your own integrity, your own authenticity. This isn’t about me. This is their perception. You were never here to be liked by everyone. You are here to be real. SLP 567: Self Love Quicky - Trust Yourself is Your Super Power

In this week’s Self Love Podcast Quicky, Kim discusses the importance of self trust as a superpower. She emphasises that no one will give you permission to pursue your desires and it is up to you to trust yourself. Kim explains that unwavering self-trust is quiet and grounded, and that backing yourself is more important than always getting things right. She highlighted that building trust involves listening to your inner nudge, honouring your word, and choosing yourself. Kim reminds us we are already enough and we don’t need to prove our worth. She encourages trusting in one’s ability to handle challenges and embrace vulnerabilities. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Trusting yourself is the ultimate superpower any of us could bestow. You can either keep waiting or hoping someone’s going to come in and do it for you or give it to you or you can simply start trusting. When you really tap into trusting who you are, what you are, and where you want to go, it is quiet. It is grounded, it is a deep and knowing that just says, yes, I’ve got you. Trusting yourself doesn’t mean you are always going to get it right. It just means you back yourself no matter what. Every time you honour your word and every time you choose you, you build that trust. Betting on yourself is one of the most powerful things you will ever do. The practice isn’t about doing more or being more. It is to trust yourself more. The moment you truly back yourself, is the moment everything begins to change. You are enough.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 566: Melissa White: A Telescopic Approach to Women’s Health and Hormonal Healing

In this rich and heartfelt episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with naturopath Melissa White to explore the deeply personal and often misunderstood journey of women’s health, particularly through perimenopause and midlife transitions. Melissa shares her holistic “telescopic” approach to naturopathy, looking beyond symptoms to understand the full picture of a woman’s lifestyle, environment, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Together, they unpack the unique challenges modern women face, including the pressures of balancing career, family, and identity while navigating hormonal shifts, often leaving them feeling overwhelmed and depleted. The conversation gently reframes perimenopause as a powerful transition rather than a decline, while acknowledging the very real emotional and physical impacts it can bring. Kim and Melissa also dive into the cultural narratives around aging and beauty, the influence of social media, and how women can reconnect with their sense of self beyond external expectations. Woven throughout the episode are simple, nurturing self-care practices from functional foods and herbal remedies to breathwork, mindfulness, and connection with nature, reminding us that support can be both accessible and deeply effective. About Melissa Motivated by the whys, Melissa is a Clinical Naturopath who specialises in the “unravelling” of complex, chronic health cases. In a world of fast-paced protocols and one-size-fits-all supplements, Melissa advocates a slower, more intentional approach to healing. By prioritising foundational nutritional repletion and clinical reasoning, she helps patients navigate the physiological and emotional layers of long-term illness. Her work is dedicated to those who have tried the “standard” path and found themselves pushed in the wrong direction, particularly women navigating the systemic transitions and multi-layered presentations of pre-perimenopause and beyond. Melissa guides her patients back to a state of physiological resilience through deep clinical expertise and an investigative approach that translates the body’s complex symptoms into a clear, strategic path forward. Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is internalised self-agency, it is an act of like mental sovereignty. It is about acknowledging that micro mother within. So it is metacognition. The gap between a thought and reaction. Pivoting above and observing, thinking, it is the act of thinking of thinking. If you have the capacity to see yourself perceiving a situation, you can actually mediate or resolve that situation before it actually enlists a physiological response. Her favourite quote is: If you want to take the island, you’ve got to sink the ships. You can be a little bit more self guided in naturopathy. It is a telescopic perspective. We zoom right out. We are the sum of the 5 nervous systems we interact with. It is a more whole encompassing perspective on the patient. I am grateful that I have got a great capacity of thinking. I am somebody who can think across multiple different interests at once and also excel in those areas. I can actually perceive a case intuitively but also apply the mechanistic knowledge behind that. I just had this inner knowing what herbs were actually safe for me. It comes from having a heightened sensory perception or intuitive sense. The most refined topic that comes up consistently is our perigirlies. When it comes to social media the algorithm loves provocative suff. We are not going to identify with a woman who is living her best life. We identify with the woman in the trenches. We don’t consume food, we consume codes. It is literally life that you are consuming and it is communicating with your body, What actually sparks your soul? If you feel good about yourself, you are going to reflect a better perspective of self. I think we transition into a mother tree. They store energy, wisdom, support and memories. It has to be social media. It is in our face every single day. It would be challenging for someone who hasn’t had a chance to even mature and get to know who she is to be able to say I don’t want to look like that. If intuition is a guide, metacognition is the guardian. Self love is regulating yourself to a point where you can actually moderate it before it actually starts to affect. I am so against the narrative, we are not like computers. It is so innately complex the reason why we gain weight. It is an unwavering trust in yourself that you get up and bet on yourself. Question everything. Common is not a synonym for normal. If you do not feel okay in your body, something is not okay. Trust yourself.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 565: Self Love Quicky - Move Your Body and Honour Yourself

In this week’s quicky, Kim discusses the importance of mindful movement rather than exercise or punishment. She emphasises that movement is medicine and should be approached with love and respect for the body, regardless of age or ability level. Kim stresses the difference between avoidance and mindfulness in movement, encouraging you to honour your current state and practice consistency rather than perfection. She shares that even simple activities like walking or stretching can be beneficial and recommends a quick “Fab 4 and 5” exercise routine as a starting point. Quotes: As a young woman in my 20’s, I was incredibility fortunate to come across great role models at that time. Another pivotal moment for me would have been COVID which has a huge impact on where I am right now and the business I am doing. We are one of the success stories that have come out of a terrible situation. I knew we had to pivot and pivot fast to survive the fitness industry. There were low moments, but I had great people around me. Good people need people. Everyone will have a pity party at some point. You have to be at the lowest to appreciate the highs. You’re allowed to have that time, but don’t let it go on for too long. @ Pilates actually saved me. It gave me purpose and it gave me something to focus on. It became who I was for a period of time. I thought this is a good idea and women needed something. They are getting financial freedom by doing something meaningful which is pretty cool. There are three pillars in the business, the member, the studio and HQ. All three need to get something out of it. It is about the member. Communities is everything. We are always thinking about the member because we know if the member is succeeding, the business will succeed. If you are working with family and friends have a clear direction of what you are trying to achieve. Have exit strategies in place and do the boring stuff. Be responsible for who is affecting your world and the decisions that you are actually making. For me self-care is about creating freedom. To have financial independence and have the time and capacity to be there for the people that I love. Don’t waste your time on people that have no influence over your day to day. Don’t let them live rent free. Everything I do now. I am trying to constantly think about 2 steps forward. How does this affect the people around me? All of the things we have done wrong have taught us way more than what we have done right. Don’t close yourself off to negative feedback. Surround yourself with superstars. You are never too old to start exercising. Three qualities in people to look for is enthusiasm, intelligence and integrity. Integrity is incredibly important for you and also everyone in your world around you.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 563: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Connection

In this weeks Quicky Kim explores the power of self-love, connection and the strength of women supporting one another. It’s a reminder that the most important leadership role we will ever have is the leadership of ourselves. When women honour their bodies, trust their intuition, and care for their mind, heart, and spirit, they begin to lead from alignment rather than exhaustion and compassion rather than comparison. The episode also highlights the sacred power of women gathering in circles, spaces where stories are shared, support is felt, and we remember we are not alone. Through a reflective poem from Kim’s book “Like Chocolate for Women”, we are reminded that true beauty and wisdom grow from within. This episode invites us to pause, breathe, and remember that self-love is not selfish, it is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. I want to invite you to pause, to breathe and remember the power of loving who you are. Women are extraordinary beings. We nurture, we create, we hold space, we lead, we rebuild, we care, and we rise again and again through the many phases of life. Many of us forget the most important leadership role we will ever play. And that is the leadership of ourselves. Self love is not selfish. Self care is not indulgent. When a woman truly honours her body, when she listens to her intuition and takes more time to care for her mind, for her heart, for her spirit, then something shifts. She leads from alignment rather than exhaustion. She leads from compassion rather than comparison. This is what enables us to even maybe lead from truth rather than expectation. There is something very deeply sacred about women just coming together. For 1000s of years, women have always come together in circles, to heal, to celebrate, to learn, and to remember their strengths and their power. We see parts of ourselves reflected in each other and we can remind ourselves and each other of our worth. May you honour the woman that you are, celebrate the woman you are becoming. Self love is the most powerful leadership gift of all.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 562: The Power of Circle with Imogen Bailey

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with Imogen Bailey to explore the powerful role of women’s circles in fostering authentic connection, healing and self-love. Imogen shares her journey from the entertainment industry into wellness work as a doula, circle facilitator and author of The Power of Circle, reflecting on how practices like meditation, journaling and community helped her redefine herself beyond external expectations. Together they discuss the ancient tradition of gathering in circle as a space without hierarchy, where women can share openly, learn across generations and support one another through different stages of life. In a time where loneliness and digital connection are increasing, they highlight the importance of intentional, in person spaces that nurture emotional wellbeing and meaningful relationships. Imogen also explains how circles can be thoughtfully facilitated with structure and intention, and shares insights from her accredited training program designed to help others safely hold these spaces. The episode is a heartfelt invitation for you to reconnect with yourself and each other and perhaps even start your own circle grounded in self love and community. We have chapters. If someone says you can’t, I’m like, I will. Don’t let other people define who you are, whether it is on the outside or the inside. Love it and be there because you love it but still don’t let other people in that field define who you are. It is really important that we define who we are. We love ourselves enough to define who we are. What comes out of that is a community of people who want to lift each other up and support each other. If I didn’t find self care, I was going to be in trouble. Circle has transformed me to the point that I am a different person now. When you sit in a circle, there is no hierarchy. There is an equality, there is inclusion, there is looking into each other’s eyes. The energy of that circle doesn’t stop when the circle closes. You take that with you. Circle creates this beautiful shape where nobody feels like they have to be the person that stands at the front and fixes everybody. Our bodies are wired for in person connection. Circle offers deep in person connection. It really is an ancient tool that has worked since the dawn of time. No one needs to be a guru. No one needs to be an expert. It is purely about creating an intentional space that feels warm, inviting, relaxing and nourishing. We are in the middle of a loneliness epidemic and it is global. It is like gifting yourself a moment in time. Meditation is now mainstream. Circles need to be mainstream as well. We can learn so much more from somebody telling us the story of their life than scrolling on Instagram. Think of every year as you go, the things that you let go of and the new things that you expand with. We are levelling up. Circle gives people a safe place. You leave the baggage at the door. I want to keep loving myself so much that I don’t need to be any younger version of me anywhere. I would love to see a circle in every corner. This has by far been the most rewarding career that I have done. You have to love yourself so much that I have the ability to love you because we are both worthy of pure unconditional love   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 561: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Responding Rather Than Reacting

In this week’s Quicky Kim discusses the importance of emotional regulation and its connection to self love. She explains that emotional regulation involves responding to emotions in a conscious way rather than reacting impulsively. Kim provides five tools to help with self regulation and emphasises that regulation is not about suppressing emotions but about feeling them deeply without becoming destructive. She stresses that self love involves being able to sit with one’s own emotional storm without abandoning oneself. This episode highlights the importance of emotional regulation for personal growth and the ability to create positive change in the world. It is also teaching us how to hold ourselves when we feel angry, how to speak to ourselves when we feel hurt and how we respond when we feel triggered or activated. Emotional regulation is ultimately self respect and action. Emotional dysregulation is usually protection. Regulation is the conscious adult. Safety is the foundation for all healing. Clarity reduces the intensity. The brain calms when we can name the emotions. Often our reactions are echoes of the past. Self love is the ability to sit with your own storm and not abandon yourself in it. Regulated humans can change the world. Our emotions are a beautiful vehicle and tool to help the learn the art of self regulation.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 560: Writing Her Way: Nicole Fuge on Storytelling, Self Love and Building Muse Paper

In this episode, Kim sits down with journalist and founder of Muse Paper, Nicole Fuge, to explore her journey from traditional media into building a purpose led digital platform dedicated to women’s stories. Nicole shares how her career evolved from community newspapers to feature writing, and how motherhood, redundancy, and a desire for more meaningful work led her to launch Muse Paper in 2024. She reflects honestly on balancing journalism with raising children, navigating postpartum challenges, and redefining her identity beyond career and motherhood. This conversation explores self belief, the art of capturing powerful personal stories, and the importance of intentional reading in a world of doom scrolling. This is an inspiring and practical conversation about reinvention, authenticity, and building something meaningful that truly supports women at every stage of life. About Nicole Nicole Fuge is an Australian journalist with 19 years’ experience across print and digital media. She began her career in newspapers before moving into magazines, later spending seven years in the digital space. At the beginning of 2025, she launched Muse Paper, a modern digital publication for women seeking thoughtful stories, honest conversations, and a sense of connection. Having experienced shifts in her health, hormones and identity, Nicole realised how much women pour into others – family, work, life – often leaving little space for themselves. Muse Paper was born from that: a place to explore the many evolving seasons of womanhood, from motherhood to menopause and everything in between. A mum of two, Nicole has intentionally created a flexible life and career, working around nap times and often writing deep into the night when the house is quiet and still. Her work is grounded in self-trust, timing, and the power of backing yourself. Her definition of Self Love is: Self-love is taking care of yourself in a way that only you know how. Her favourite quote is from: Anything you lose by speaking your truth isn’t a loss, it’s alignment. Story with Kim: https://musepaper.au/signature-stories/kim-morrison-self-love Links to follow: Website: https://wordsbynicole.com/ & https://musepaper.au/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/words.bynicole/ & https://www.instagram.com/musepaper.au Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/musepaper.au/ Threads: https://www.threads.com/@musepaper.au Pintrest: https://au.pinterest.com/musepaperau/ Quotes: I have always been curious and a little bit nosey and I think that is what drew me to media in the first place. I remember the guidance counsellor said to me, you will never be a journalist, because you don’t have the grades, and I have carried that with me to this day. It wasn’t until I went to uni and studied journalism that I actually thrived. I have always looked at people and been curious of their stories and I know that everyone does have a story. Most people are just ordinary people going about their lives. Everyone has a story to share and I am now realising that includes me too. I loved it and that was where I feel like my genius came out. I didn’t want to let go of who I was before becoming a mum. I was someone totally new, I wasn’t who I was before and I wasn’t just a mum. I was taking care of everyone else and I needed to take care of myself as a woman, not just a mother. I needed to count myself as a person. If I am tired and cranky, the kids are quite often cranky too, because they pick up on that energy. I think it is okay to want more because that is just part of being human. When we do get to where we want to be, it is important to actually sit with that and enjoy it. We are so busy wanting the next thing that we don’t really spend much time just sitting with where we are. Motherhood is so hard to prepare for, but it is also so hard to explain. It is that unspoken understanding between mothers. It is not until you talk to another mum that they actually get it. Those little details are what make it truly personal. Not getting that job felt like a rejection, but in hindsight, it was a redirection. Muse paper is written for women like me. We needed a platform that honours all of the seasons of motherhood. Trust the nudge even when it doesn’t make sense yet.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 559: Self Love Quicky - Hormone Harmony

In this weeks Quicky, Kim explores the powerful relationship between hormones and the nervous system, reminding us that our hormones are not “misbehaving” but responding intelligently to stress, sleep, blood sugar, and overall life load. She unpacks how chronic stress shifts the body into survival mode, impacting cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, and even our sleep cycles, and explains why phases like perimenopause and menopause can heighten sensitivity to stress without meaning anything is “wrong.” Drawing on her expertise in aromatherapy, Kim highlights the direct link between the olfactory system and the limbic brain, sharing how therapeutic grade essential oils can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system and guide the body back into rest, repair, and regulation. She discusses oils such as lavender, clary sage, neroli, and citrus as supportive tools for calming the stress response and creating hormone harmony through gentle, consistent practices. This episode is a reminder that the body is wise and responsive. Through scent, breath, ritual, and intention we can create a sense of safety that supports true hormonal balance and overall wellbeing. They just respond. One of the most important systems influencing your hormones is your nervous system. When we label something as a hormone imbalance, it is actually a dysregulated nervous system. This isn’t a weakness. It is just basic physiology. The olfactory system, your sense of smell, is directly connected to the limbic part of the brain. When we do activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Our heart rate slows, cortisol begins to reduce and muscle tension decreases. The power of smell, the intentionality of rituals, and the ability of awareness is what helps us to balance our hormones and feel more harmony in the home. Hormone harmony isn’t about forcing balance. It is about creating the internal conditions where balance becomes more possible. It is about consistency over intensity. It is about rituals over reactions. Your body is not broken. It is responsive. And when you support the nervous system, your hormones will follow.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 558: The One Who Knows: Finding Yourself with Krista Bleich

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim interviews Krista Bleich about her memoir, The One Who Knows, and the midlife journey that inspired it. Krista shares her path from growing up in Wisconsin to running a bakery, navigating divorce and financial hardship and ultimately rebuilding her life and career with renewed purpose. She opens up about her long held desire to write a book, the vulnerability required to tell her story, how the writing process helped her find clarity, self trust, and her authentic voice. Together, they explore themes of self-love, reinvention, nervous system regulation, and the courage to start over later in life About Krista I am a lifelong seeker of self-discovery, which started with an underlying belief that there was more to life than I had been living. Countless self-development books, seminars, retreats – you name it, I did it. All in self-seeking. My memoir is a story – the story of my desperate search for something outside myself to fill me up and make me feel whole and alive. Starting in my early childhood to my teens and early 20’s, I experienced life in ways that shaped me. I did the best that I could. One thing I will say here is that there are so many books out there that are centred around abuse, cults, and addiction, etc. Where my story doesn’t necessarily grab someone in and pull them into the depths of “oh my gosh, what a terrible lived experience that was.” My memoir, I feel, has more relatability in some regards. As in, I just did some stupid or different things that seemed at the time the best decision I could have made given the circumstances. And then at the same time, the Universe or God or whatever you want to name it, played its role as well. I was open enough to see what was put in front of me and take the leap. So the book – my life story up to my mid 50’s is the journey. The ‘normal life journey’ of a woman who learned to trust in herself. In my late 20’s, I entered an inpatient centre for 3 weeks, dealing with depression. I met the man within those walls, whom I married later that year. I thought I was saved and the fairy tale had happened, only to have a tremendous amount of disillusionment with what I had gotten myself into. From there, I started, ran, and managed a successful business, had 4 children, and what followed was divorce and bankruptcy. What also transpired was a rediscovery of who I am and the knowing that I have had for myself all along. I just needed to trust that. Her definition of Self Love is: Respecting myself and not judging what brings me happiness and joy. Doing what brings me joy, even if it is simple. Her favourite quote is from: Mariane Williamson Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Links to follow: Website Book : https://www.amazon.com.au/One-Who-Knows-Starting-Midlife-ebook/dp/B0GG42G8XG Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kristableich/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kristableich/ Evolve and launch mentioned in the podcast https://evolveandrelaunch.com.au/ Quotes: I always remember having an adventurous spirit as a kid. I always wanted to explore more, be more and experience more. I had this underlying sense there was more to life than what was happening on the surface. It was a sense of something pulling me that wanted to be expressed or experienced. I knew enough to just take the next logical step. I knew back then I wanted to write something. The story wasn’t finished yet. There was more living that I had to do. Everybody does have stories, but I wanted it to have some kind of message. I tried one thing, and that didn’t work, and then I tried another thing. It taught me something more about myself. I was really creating more and more of a monster that I had to keep feeding. I didn’t realise I was the problem. I was trying to fill a hole that really couldn’t be filled. I needed that space in order to really see who I was. The other things will come when it is ready, but you can’t rush that. Give yourself the time to find you again I really don’t think that you really grow up until you have maturity and experiences. Life teaches you something about who you are. I think we really start growing up when we are over 50. I found a career that actually fulfilled me in a completely different way. It wasn’t just a job anymore. It was a career. My experience and my life experience had value. I finally felt like my life was full. I am still evolving. It feels like the beginning of my life now. I am open to what else might come. Anybody who has been searching for themselves will see a part of themselves in my story.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 557: Self Love Quicky - A Holistic Approach to Health

In this week’s Quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim explores the true meaning of holistic health and why wellness is never a one size fits all journey. She shares how many people grow up without experiencing vibrant health and often search for quick fixes rather than addressing the deeper connection between body, mind, emotions, lifestyle, and relationships. Kim encourages you to stop outsourcing your health to a single practitioner or solution and instead develop a partnership with your own body. By tuning into intuition, listening to physical signals, and aligning with practitioners and modalities that resonate personally, individuals can make more empowered and sustainable health choices. She also highlights the value of simple, supportive self-care practices such as rest, natural therapies, and intentional lifestyle adjustments, reminding us that true well-being comes from approaches that work in harmony with who we are. This episode is a powerful invitation to take personal responsibility, explore integrative options, and trust yourself in creating long-term vitality and balance. A holistic approach means that we stop outsourcing, giving our power to one single solution, a practitioner, a modality, a pill, or a protocol. What if we took a moment to zoom out and look at the whole picture? There are a lot of people out there that have never experienced what it feels like to truly feel fantastic. Your body is constantly talking to you. Listen to the whispers. It is about choosing people and practises that resonate with you. Just know that your body is wise. Your intuition is beyond intelligence. Self love means listening. The magic happens when things work with you, not against you. Ask yourself, what do I really need? What is my body asking of me? Holistic health isn’t about perfection, but partnership. You have the choice. You have the power. You can have a thousand problems until you have a health problem, and then you only have one problem. Health is your greatest asset.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 556: From Burnout to Balance - An Integrative Approach to True Health with Dr Andrea Robertson

In this episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with Dr Andrea Robertson, an osteopath, naturopath, and nutritionist with more than 25 years of experience, to explore what it truly means to take an integrative approach to health. Andrea shares her journey from professional dancer to healthcare practitioner and how her own experience with burnout and chronic health challenges led her to expand her practice beyond osteopathy into naturopathy and nutrition. Together, they discuss the importance of listening to the body’s signals and supporting health through balanced nutrition, movement, mindset, and nervous system regulation. Andrea explains how small, consistent lifestyle changes can create profound long term improvements and why symptoms such as fatigue, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, and menopause related changes should be seen as messages rather than inconveniences to suppress. The conversation highlights osteopathy’s whole body philosophy and its focus on the relationship between structure, function, and the nervous system. Andrea also shares insights into pain management, the healing power of touch, the benefits of strength training and walking particularly for women approaching menopause and the role of mindset in reducing the body’s stress response. Andrea kindly offers podcast listeners a special discount for her three week inflammation detox program, designed to support the body in reducing inflammation through targeted nutrition and lifestyle strategies. About Andrea: Andrea is an Osteopath, Naturopath, Nutritionist, and women’s health educator with over 25 years’ experience helping women reconnect with their bodies and restore their energy, clarity, and confidence. Known as the Inflammation Queen, Andrea specialises in supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions using a whole-body approach that blends functional medicine, nutrition, movement, mindset, and nervous system support. A former professional dancer who performed internationally, including at the Moulin Rouge in Paris, Andrea brings a deep understanding of what happens when women push through stress, pressure, and disconnection from their bodies. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: your body isn’t broken, it’s communicating. Learning to listen is the ultimate act of self-love. Her definition of Self Love is: Self-love is listening to your body. Doing what is right for your body and that you love and that love you back. Her favourite quote is: The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new by Socrates. It is a big difference when you study something you love as opposed to being something you don’t want to be. It was like I had these curtains close across the front of my eyes. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had just dropped everything and gone the next day. For someone to say to you, ‘it all makes sense’, when you’re feeling so unwell, that piece alone is really healing. My elimination systems had stopped working and my body was carrying a toxic load. That is when I really wanted to learn how to help people in this way as well. Nutrition, movement, mindset and supporting your nervous system, they are all equal. A little bit of everything improves everything but a lot of all of them improves a lot. It is really about the one percent changes. If it is done consistently over time, it has a really profound impact. I don’t think enough people actually listen to their bodies. Your body is giving you messages and signals all the time. Anything that is opposite to good health is a whisper. Your period is like a monthly report card into your health. It is not junk food, because it is not food. If there are numbers on the back of the packet, that is not real food. Doctors are seeing people who are sick and potentially dying. That is where their focus has to be. Naturopathy works in that space where you are not sick and you are not dying, but you are also not well. It is never about treating everything at once. It is about finding the primary driver. When you understand pain, the threat of pain is less, and when the threat is less, the pain reduces. I am still a working progress in resting enough. Be open to new things that may improve your health and wellbeing.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 555: Self Love Quicky - Turning Pain into Purpose

In this weeks quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim explores how difficult life circumstances can serve as opportunities for growth and self discovery rather than signs of weakness. She shares practical steps for managing challenging emotions and emphasises the importance of resilience, suggesting that pain can be a catalyst for personal development and the cultivation of empathy. Kim encourages us to be kind to ourselves during messy times and to share our experiences with others, highlighting that while pain doesn’t have to define us, it can guide us toward meaningful growth. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Quotes: There is nothing wrong with you for feeling overwhelmed, disappointed, sad, tired or heartbroken. Pain is not a sign of weakness. It is a signal. Pain is information. We have to feel it to heal it. Instead of asking, why is this happening to me? We could gently shift the question to “what is this asking of me”? Your pain can become a barometer and it does show you when something really matters deeply or when a boundary has been crossed. Resilience is not built by pretending things are fine. It is built by really feeling it. By staying present and by choosing not to abandon yourself in these tough or hard moments. I realise that my struggles are not detours. They are actually training grounds. Your honesty and vulnerability gives others permission to truly feel and share. Your survival, your story, becomes a beacon for someone else’s hope. Ask what this is actually asking of me. Self love is not about having it all together. Sometimes it is just messy. You don’t need to have the whole story figured out to be inspiring. You just need to keep showing up with an open heart. Trust that even now, something meaningful is being formed within you.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 554: Sabeel Burgess: A Story of Survival to Purpose

In this powerful episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim speaks with Sabeel Burgess, survivor, advocate and founder of Open Haven to share a story of resilience that spans continents and generations. Born in Bangladesh during political unrest and later displaced across India, the UK, and eventually Australia, Sabeel’s early life was shaped by trauma, abandonment, identity loss, and homelessness at just sixteen. Along the way, she uncovered hidden family truths and began to understand how deeply generational trauma and early adversity can shape our nervous system, relationships and sense of self. In her mid-twenties, Sabeel experienced a pivotal awakening, recognising that what she had endured was not normal and choosing to begin a conscious journey of healing. That decision transformed her life and ultimately led to the creation of Open Haven, a Brisbane based postcrisis organisation supporting women and children escaping domestic violence. Open Haven bridges the critical gap between crisis accommodation and long term independence, offering transitional housing and holistic support including financial mentoring, practical assistance and ongoing guidance to help women rebuild their lives sustainably. With a compassionate and structured model, the organisation is helping break cycles of abuse and creating real pathways to freedom. This episode is a moving conversation about survival, self-love, healing generational trauma, and turning personal pain into purposeful impact. About Sabeel: Sabeel is the founder of Open Haven and a lifelong advocate for women and children. Shaped by her own lived experience of domestic violence, she transformed adversity into action, recognising a critical gap in support once survivors leave crisis and begin rebuilding their lives. With a background in teaching and close work alongside social services and child protection, Sabeel saw firsthand how many women were left without guidance, community, or long-term support. A natural problem-solver and researcher, she established Open Haven in 2017 to address what was missing: post-crisis care that restores dignity, stability, and hope. For Sabeel, this is not just work, it is purpose. Seeing women reconnect with community and thrive affirms her belief that lasting change is possible when survivors are supported beyond survival and into new beginnings. Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is not extravagant or indulgent it is choosing safety and resting when it says stop. It is setting boundaries even when things are uncomfortable. Her favourite quote is from: Rest is not a reward it is a responsibility. Links to follow: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/openhavenau/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/openhavenltd/ LinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/company/open-haven-ltd Website: https://www.openhaven.org.au/ Quotes: I think there is so much power in story telling. I often wonder why, why did I survive? That was my entrance to the world. From an early age I experienced quite a lot of trauma. They say the first five years of our lives are the most formative and yet for me they were the most traumatic. I am a woman of faith and I do believe I have a . Open haven was born because of the adversity and difficulty that I experienced. I remember feeling an incredible sense of Abandonment. I lost culture, language and identity. It was a time of difficulty but growth. People provided a framework of support. We all want to be seen. We all want to be loved. We all want to belong and most importantly we want to feel safe. What I considered normal was not normal, it was a pivotal time. There were days I didn’t want to get out of bed but I had to face it. It is a journey and never linear. You are choosing to go forward. Every day is a choice. I needed time to heal. I always loved community. It is looking after every aspect of their lives and providing support. I look at a perpetuator with compassionate. Our women do not go back. They know they have a framework that will support them. As a leader when you give your yourself permission to rest you give others permission to rest too. Self love is modelling what we do. It is saying I am enough.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 552: The Bank Robber’s Boy: Peter Norris on Kindness, Resilience & Leadership

In this powerful episode of The Self Love Podcast, Kim speaks with Peter Norris, author of The Bank Robber’s Boy, a deeply moving memoir about growing up as the son of one of Australia’s most notorious bank robbers. Peter shares his journey from a childhood marked by abandonment, trauma, and instability to becoming a successful CEO, athlete and advocate for kindness and personal responsibility. He reflects on pivotal moments that shaped his resilience, including a life changing decision at just 11 years old to stop blaming others and take ownership of his emotional world. Together, Kim and Peter explore self love, forgiveness, courage and the profound impact of small acts of kindness. They discuss modern masculinity, emotional expression, relationship dynamics and the challenges facing young men today. Peter also draws powerful parallels between athletic performance and personal growth, reminding us that we are capable of far more than we believe. This episode is a moving reminder that while we can’t choose our beginnings, we can choose who we become, through courage, compassion and everyday acts of kindness. About Peter: At thirteen, Peter Norris made the kind of call that defines a life. His father was a career criminal – Australia’s Most Wanted, to be exact. His brother? Cut from the same cloth. Grandfather? Same story. Crime was the family business. Chaos, the inheritance. But Peter wasn’t here to follow a legacy. He was brave enough to rewrite it. He walked away from the only life he’d ever known – and built a new one from the wreckage. Forged on courage, not crime. On leadership, not lineage. A road paved with bold moves, not bloodlines. Raised on the run, Peter learned early… Read the room. Make tough calls under pressure. Stay calm in chaos. That instinct didn’t fade – it became his superpower. Today, he’s the CEO of a multimillion-dollar hospitality group. A people-first influence in an industry defined by burnout. Foster carer. Elite athlete. Best-selling author of The Bank Robber’s Boy. Peter doesn’t just talk about transformation. He is transformation. And when he speaks, he doesn’t just motivate. He moves people. From executives to entrepreneurs, middle managers to frontline teams, Peter has this uncanny ability to cut through the noise and tap into something deeper – the part of us that already knows we’re capable of more. His delivery is raw, honest, and impossible to ignore. He speaks with street-smart wisdom and lived experience – on courage, choice, kindness and the brutal beauty of becoming who you were never supposed to be. His message is simple. And it hits like home: You don’t choose the hand you’re dealt. But you’ve got the power to play it like a winner. Peter Norris doesn’t point to what’s possible. He gives you the guts to go after it. His definition of Self Love is: Self love is forgiving myself when I make dumb decisions. Letting myself dream big! Trusting my own worth. His favourite quote is his own quote: The life you seek is discovered in the brave choices you are willing to make. Links to follow: Website: https://www.thebankrobbersboy.com.au/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61573484279801 Quotes: In my first 13 years there were so many adventures and so much trauma, so much happiness and also so many tears. I never become judgmental on what people perceive as tough. We all have different or varying tolerance for difficult moments and resilience. My Dad despite really poor choices was a beautiful Dad in terms of being loving, caring, nurturing and protective. My Dad had been through similar experiences whilst incarcerated as I had and I saw the product of that in him. I just said no more I would not be controlled. I would not let other people’s actions control how I feel. I just took my life into my own hands and decided that my mindset would be different. I had these little breadcrumbs of kindness throughout all this trauma. I have this capacity to put my mind to something and just be relentless until I achieve it. I meet people every day who say I wish I could make this decision I wish I could do what you have done. Young men are so focused on self preservation that they are probably not in tune with everything around them. Which is a hard skill as a young man. It is amazing how many people are sitting in the I’m not getting what I want out of life. Just listening to young men, there are so many issues I see at the moment, they are just so confused. When someone like me with lived experiences can step into this space and say, I know clearly what you are going through, it is a really different conversation. Being kind is a big part of it and not judging anybody on their own experiences or their poor decision making. My book has ended up being a source of reflection and insight for so many. To be seen, recognised and appreciated is huge. Start with small acts of kindness. You just don’t know the impact you may have.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 551: Self Love Quicky - Self Love, Intentions and Trusting Your Body

In this week’s Self Love Podcast Quicky, Kim invites you to approach the new year with compassion, simplicity and self trust. Rather than setting goals from pressure or external expectations, she encourages choosing intentions based on how you want to feel and what you truly want to give yourself. Kim explores self love as a daily practice of listening to and honouring the body’s wisdom. She reframes tiredness, emotions, and the need for rest as powerful messages, reminding us that our bodies are always communicating what they need to heal, restore, and thrive. By softening self judgment and embracing kindness, we can support our nervous system and create more balance hormonally, emotionally and energetically. Through personal reflections and grounding rituals, Kim highlights the importance of self-trust, inner resources, and honouring your natural rhythms, even during times of uncertainty. She reminds us that self love is not a destination to reach, but an ongoing journey of awareness, care and conscious choice. Every pause you take in life is an opportunity to reset. Your body is speaking to you softly, wisely, honestly. Setting intentions isn’t about forcing change. It is about choosing how you want to feel. It is not about what the world wants from me, but what I need. When you set an intention from love rather than pressure, your nervous system will soften. Your hormones respond to safety, not stress. Your body responds to kindness, not criticism. I choose to listen. I choose to honour my rhythm. I choose to trust my body. Everything is a messenger, guiding me toward balance, rest, nourishment, movement or truth. When you feel tired, it is not weakness. It is your body’s wisdom. Self love means releasing the guilt around rest. Your beautiful body knows what it needs to do to heal, recalibrate, renew when you create the space for it. You do not have to have it all figured out. You just need to come home to you. Every moment is a new moment. Self love is not a destination. It is a daily practice of listening, trusting, and choosing yourself. Take the time this year to honour you.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 550: Kylie Pinwill on Hormones, Burnout and Redefining Self Love

In this powerful and deeply honest opening episode for the year, Kim is joined by Kylie Pinwill, women’s health nutritionist and founder of My Hormone Hub, to explore the truth about hormones, burnout, perimenopause, and what self love really looks like in a woman’s body and life. Kylie shares her personal journey from practising as a nutritionist in Sydney, to selling everything and travelling Australia with her family after confronting life changing losses, to hitting burnout while rebuilding life and business on the Sunshine Coast. It was through her own health collapse that Kylie uncovered a startling truth: women are not educated or supported through the 10 year hormonal transition leading up to menopause. Together, Kim and Kylie explore the impact of stress on women’s health, why so many women feel dismissed or “gaslit” during this stage of life, and the importance of proactive, holistic care. This episode reframes self love as the daily commitment to nourishment, rest, movement, and boundaries, reminding women that investing in their health is not selfish, it is essential. About Kylie Kylie Pinwill is a leading women’s health nutritionist and the founder of The Hormone Hub and The Hormone Code, an 8-week program helping high-achieving women navigate perimenopause and menopause with clarity, confidence, and energy. Known for her warm, practical approach, Kylie blends science with real-life strategies to support hormonal balance, weight, mood, and brain fog. She’s also the host of The Hormone Hub podcast, where she brings honest, insightful conversations to the midlife women’s health space. Her definition of Self Love is: Honouring myself to get the basics right Links to follow: Website: https://www.myhormonehub.com/ Instagram: @kyliepinwill_hormonehub Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kyliepinwill A gift for our listeners The Perimenopause Survival Kit https://www.myhormonehub.com/the-ultimate-perimenopause-starter-kit Quotes: We had a couple of real life confronting moments that questioned what we are doing. I was building a house, settling three kids into a new school, starting a business and I hit the wall full speed. I had always been fit and energetic suddenly I was dragging myself through life. All the tests came back normal, but I knew something else was going on. Our hormones are all connected. Thyroid, adrenals, sex hormones. There is a whole cascade of hormonal changes over ten years. The basic ways we care for ourselves is self love. We do it for everyone else but not ourselves. Stress can play a huge role and can deplete our bodies. If your body doesn’t feel safe it can’t do the things it is designed to do. There is a lot we can do nutritionally plus supplements like magnesium, vitamin d and fish oils. It is ok to slow down and take a breathe. Consistency and honouring what is important to me. I focus on strength and mobility. If we don’t do it now it is going to be harder later. For me what can I do consistently for longevity. What am I doing now that will help me achieve my goals. The pill is great as a band aid. However it suppresses ovulation and it doesn’t address the underlying issues. Doctors look at normal ranges but we look at optimal ranges. That is the range where you feel well. There is more conversation around HRT. It can be a tool in a toolkit. Now is a good time to have a health check. There are so many ways we can take care of ourselves, be proactive and stay on top of your health. Pay attention to the little taps. Let go of being perfect. It is ok to have that middle ground. Taking care of myself is a me problem, no one’s going to come and rescue me, so it’s up to us. At our retreat women have space to be themselves. Connection with girlfriends is crucial. Other women get you! We have each other’s backs.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. Kim invites you to step into 2026 with courage and clarity by choosing a word for the year. A guiding intention to live, breathe and embody through daily practices. Drawing inspiration from the Year of the Horse, she explores themes of freedom, momentum, self trust, and conscious leadership, encouraging you to move forward with purpose and confidence. Whether you are seeking inspiration, clarity, or a deeper connection to yourself, this quicky offers an empowering invitation to trust your instincts and step into the year ahead with intention and heart. It has never just been a business. It has always been a living, breathing extension of who I am, who we are, our values, our family, our belief in self love is the daily practice, not the destination. The relationship we share, as women, as leaders, as a mum and daughter, it is a foundation. It is everything I have ever created. We have had hard conversations, big dreams, bold visions, and moments where we have just had to trust each other deeply. That is the bond of me and my daughter’s strength, and it’s the energy that flows into every product, every program, every intention we set. This is not a year to play small. This is a year to move with real integrity and purpose. The horse represents freedom, momentum, courage, stamina, and forward movement. It is about trusting your instincts, backing yourself and having the bravery to move when your soul whispers now. When we align heart, body, and mind and commit fully, we create incredible momentum. Choosing a word for the year gives your nervous system clarity, your mind direction, and your heart permission to move forward with intention. Let it choose you and live it. Live it in your rituals, your choices, your boundaries, and your self talk. Our vision is to support you to feel empowered in your body, confident in your choices and deeply connected to your heart and self worth. Uncommon Leadership isn’t just a program, it’s a 12 month journey of self responsibility, clarity, courage, and conscious leadership. This program is for those who know they are here to make a difference. Opportunities do not sit around and wait for someday. Here is an invitation to let 2026 be the year you say yes to yourself. I choose to move forward with clarity, courage and self love. Imagine your year unfolding step by step, choice by choice guided by your word, supported by your body and led by your heart.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below.
