Shaggy's House Of Horrors

This UNCUT episode was recorded back in August of 2025. Karis’s daughter Nadia is a tiny horror-fan-in-training and was pretty damn sure she could be more interesting than Shaggy on the podcast and wouldn’t you know it, she was right! Ok, ok, we’re kidding, but she couldn’t wait to talk about Abigail with us, and this episode is the result. If you’ve ever wanted to hear a 10-year-old swear more than you’d expect, insult Shaggy and give a pretty silly run down of a movie she loves - we’ve got you!It is imperfect, as most things little humans do while they’re learning are. Someone *cough Karis cough* was so worried about editing it perfectly that it never got released into the world. Rather than wait a whole nother year waiting for her to edit, we decided to put this imperfect, but very funny episode out into the world. 

Shaggy and Karis attempt to tackle "1408' (2007) while going off the rails more than usual! Thanks alot, Robyne! 1408 is a 2007 psychological horror film starring John Cusack as Mike Enslin, a cynical author who debunks paranormal claims and decides to stay in the notoriously haunted Room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel, despite warnings from the manager (Samuel L. Jackson). Trapped inside, Enslin confronts terrifying supernatural events that force him to relive past traumas, blurring the line between reality and hallucination as he fights to survive the night. Karis finally got Shaggy to watch the infamous film "Martyrs" this movie lends itself to alot of conversation given its ambiguous ending! Tons of spoilers ahead in this one!Martyrs (2008) is a French-Canadian horror film directed by Pascal Laugier, known for its extreme violence, psychological horror, and role in the "New French Extremity" movement, following two young women, Lucie and Anna, on a brutal quest for revenge that uncovers a secret society torturing people to reach a state of martyrdom and transcend death. The film is infamous for its shocking and graphic content, shifting from a revenge thriller to a philosophical and deeply disturbing exploration of suffering, culminating in a controversial and enigmatic ending where Anna becomes the final test subject. Where to watch: Tubi

After going wild for 28 years later: Bone Temple, Shaggy and Karis return to the studio to butt heads over "Poison Ivy"Poison Ivy (1992) is a cult erotic thriller directed by Katt Shea, starring Drew Barrymore as the titular seductive teen who manipulates her way into the wealthy family of her high school friend, Sylvie (Sara Gilbert). The film follows Ivy as she seduces Sylvie's father (Tom Skerritt) and plots to take over the family, leading to a dark and dramatic conclusion where she meets a similar fate to the family's ill mother (Cheryl Ladd). It gained popularity on cable and video despite a poor box office performance and spawned sequels. 

Shaggy and Karis cover the 4th movie in the 28 Years Franchise "Bone Temple " Is it the best horror movie so far of 2026? We seem to think so! 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is a 2026 post-apocalyptic horror film, directed by Nia DaCosta, that continues the 28 Days Later franchise, following the events of 28 Years Later (2025). The plot centers on two main storylines: Spike (Alfie Williams) being drawn into a satanic cult led by the terrifying Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell), and Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) forming an unlikely bond with an "Alpha" infected, Samson. The film explores themes of faith, survival, and the inhumanity of survivors, with critics noting its disturbing visuals, strong performances, and a shift in focus from the infected to human brutality.

Shaggy and Karks continue their coverage of 90's erotic thrillers with FearFear (1996) is a psychological thriller starring Mark Wahlberg as David, a charming but violent man who becomes dangerously obsessed with a teenage girl, Nicole (Reese Witherspoon), after she falls for him, turning her dream romance into a nightmare of stalking and terror. Directed by James Foley, the film also features William Petersen and Alyssa Milano and is known as a "teen Fatal Attraction" that became a cult classic, launching the teen idol status of its leads. 

Karis and Shaggy talk the video boom of the 90s with erotic thrillers! Part one dives into the 1998 film "Wild Things"Wild Things (1998) is a neo-noir erotic thriller about a high school counselor, Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon), accused of rape by two female students, Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards) and Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell), leading to a web of deceit, greed, and shocking twists investigated by Detective Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon). The film, directed by John McNaughton, became a cult classic known for its explicit scenes, unpredictable plot, and star-studded cast, including Bill Murray. 

Shaggy and Karis talk Tubi, physical media, new horror movie trailers, Scream 7, Erotic thrillers, Oscar's and Eli Roth's directorial debut "Cabin Fever" Cabin Fever (2002) is a horror film directed by Eli Roth about five college friends who rent a remote cabin and fall victim to a flesh-eating virus, leading to paranoia, gruesome deaths, and conflict with hostile locals. The infection spreads after one friend shoots and leaves a man with the disease, whose body contaminates the water supply, turning their vacation into a fight for survival against the virus and the townspeople.

Shaggy and Karis share their thoughts on the POV slasher "In a Violent Nathre" and quiz each other with some horror trivial pursuit!A group of teens takes a locket from a fire tower, resurrecting the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit who then methodically slaughters them to retrieve it. Where to Watch: Shudder

Due to the masterpiece that was the Substance Karis talked Shaggy into checking out the directors first film "Revenge" Jen is enjoying a romantic getaway with her wealthy boyfriend until his two sleazy friends arrive for an unannounced hunting trip. As tension mounts in the house, the situation abruptly and viciously intensifies, culminating in a shocking act that leaves Jen brutalised and left for dead.
