Episodes
-
Episode 73 - Initial D
Unlike the source anime, we weren't quick, agile, or speedy getting this episode out, to our eternal shame. However, it's nice to drift back in to your feeds!
-
Episode 72 - Gravitation
We might have fucked up.
-
Episode 71 - Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters
Well it's not the worst thing we've watched.
-
Episode 70 - Detective Pikachu w. Catalyst!
Thank you so much to Catalyst of The Begin Podcast showing up and having a chat with us about a surprisingly good family movie featuring anime-adjacent themes and properties!
-
Episode 69 - Kamen Rider
Episode 69 nice nice nice nice nice
-
Episode 68 - Ultraman
Oh shit we're almost biweekly. Don't worry we'll get back on schedule after this rough tokusatsu patch.
-
Episode 67 - Voltron: Legendary Defender
We watch that newish Voltron series and utterly forget how to end a podcast after our brief vacation!
-
Episode 66 - Thunderbolt Fantasy
You dogs don't realize that your place of dying has been chosen for you! THUNDERBOLT FANTASY RULES.
-
Episode 63 - SSSS.Gridman
We're digging deep in some old references and shows about other shows in this episode. Big robots are cool.
-
Episode 62 - Hi-sCool! Seha Girls
I feel like this barely qualifies as anime while also being the most anime thing we've watched period.
-
Episode 61 - Battle Angel: Alita 2019
How many swords and robots and rollerderby matches does it take to overshadow a mediocre-at-best script?
-
Episode 60 - Battle Angel Alita
Hot off the presses! It's the OVA that lead to that major motion picture with the unsettling characters that you saw trailers for during a Star War! It's a cool story, but is a 2 episode OVA enough time to tell it all? Probably not.
-
Episode 59 - Girly Air Force
Maybe watching new anime was a mistake. Girly Air Force is about girls who are also airplanes but also aren't and they all love the same boy. I think
-
Episode 58 - My Roommate is a Cat!
Man I think we were all hoping this one was going to turn out relatable, but instead we get a boring anime with an awful protag!
-
Episode 57 - Hinamatsuri
This is precious and perfect and good. This is the most good animes we've ever watched in a row.
-
Episode 56 - Skull-Face Bookseller Honda-san
I guess it's feel-good month cause we got all up in our feelings. Honda-san is a national treasure.
-
Episode 55 - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Yes. That is the title.
-
Episode 54 - Saint Young Men
No Ed this week, but we have a special guest joining us to more than make up for it. Oh also we watch a show about Jesus and Buddha or something?
-
Episode 53 - Hellsing Ultimate
Merry Crispmas everyone.
-
Episode 52 - Irresponsible Captain Tylor
it's Christmasman Freeman. Crispin Freemas. This is the flimsiest theme week we've ever had.
-
Episode 51 - Neo Yokio Christmas Special
It's a Christmas miracle.
-
Episode 50 - Neo Yokio
We're back where it all began. Even though we never aired the original SatS pilot, we rewatch the show that started it all. It's better than I remember, and because I'm writing the podcast description, nobody can argue with me here!
-
Episode 49 - Howl's Moving Castle
Thanks for joining us for the month of Thanksgiving. Let's go out on something everyone can agree is good - a Ghibli!
-
Episode 48 - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
It's Tia's pick for this Thanksgiving treat! We jump around a bit in some timelines and talk about how old shows can be evergreen and way more relevant now than when they were written!
-
Episode 47 - Death Parade
:crying_emoji: :sad_emoji: :anime emoji:
-
Episode 46 - Baccano!
It's time to give thanks! It's november, and we're going to get a little self indulgent with our picks. Nothing but bangers this month. The only downside is that this show is incredibly hard to talk about and almost as difficult to watch. Regardless, it's Aarons favorite anime - Baccano!
-
Episode 45 - Another
We seem to be doing a lot of live action adaptations, but that's because they're so horrifying! Join us for one last halloween scarefest as we watch probably the biggest piece of shit we're had to sit through!
-
Episode 44 - Zombie Land Saga
oh my god it's so new we had to wait for an episode. i sure hope it's worth it
-
Episode 43 - Junji Ito Collection
This episode is 90% us giggling at pictures in Discord as a heads up.
-
Episode 42 - High School of the Dead
I can't tell if the sound of skin slapping against skin is the zombies outside or the physics on the school nurse.
-
Episode 41 - School-Live
It's time to get spooOOOOOOky because it's officially the month of Halloween! let's start with something totally normal and innocent! NOTE: If you have interested in watching this for yourself, please watch the first 3 episodes of School-Live before listening to this podcast. Consider this your...
-
Episode 40 - Bleach
Welp. It's better than we thought, but that's not saying a whole lot.
-
Episode 39 - Wonder Momo
It's bad product placement, bad anime, and a bad podcast all rolled in to one. This was a terrible decision on our part but we watch Wonder Momo this week!
-
Episode 38 - Alexander Senki / Reign the Conqueror
Oh god why does it look like that what the hell holy shit is that a tiddy and a snake and oh god I'm going to yak.
-
Episode 37 - Persona 5: The Animation
Continuing our series on School themed animes, we watch another one based on a video game. We bet you never saw it coming.
-
Episode 36 - GTO The Animation
We keep rolling on Back to School season with one of the greats in the realm of comedy anime and manga. We might have picked the wrong episodes to watch!
-
Episode 35 - Baka & Test
Someone owes us an apology.
-
Episode 34.5 - Convention Special + Oops!
Well we done pooched it this week. A real goof up. A botch job. We dropped the ball and lost the audio for the full episode. But we do have some discussion of Ed's trip to Otakon and we get to talking about the way conventions is!
-
Episode 34 - Mysterious Girlfriend X
Gosh. I'm not even sure what to write here. Like i could make a joke about puddles of drool, or swapping spit, or being young and horny on main. But instead I'm just going to say that this is one of the most distressing things we've watched. Oops!
-
Episode 33 - Mobile Fighter G Gundam
Skin tight suits, giant racist robots, a plot that makes no sense and some of the coolest attack animations in the business. It's god damn G Gundam bay-bay! Oh and have you seen this man?
-
Episode 31 - Fate/Stay Night
Nope, not the good one. Not that good one either. Yeah that one. The boring one. Let's look at the some of the earliest stuff from one of the largest anime phenomenons in recent years. It's the original Fate/Stay Night Anime!
-
Episode 30 - Garzey's Wing
*poorly voice acted vomiting sounds*
-
Episode 29 - Hetalia: Axis Powers
Pretty much everything that could be said was put in to this episode. We all make mistkes. Ours just happens to be Hetalia shaped. If you're lucky enough to not know what Hetalia is, you've probably seen someone cosplaying as a character and been highly confused. Watching the show doesn't help....
-
Episode 28 - Yuri!!! On Ice
Holy shit it's our grand finale. The big wrap up to pride month. The giant monolith of LGBT+ positive anime. It brings solid joy to our hearts. Sometimes it's nice to watch a good thing. Grab your big naked russian boy and watch some god damn good anime with us!
-
Episode 27 - Dramatical Murder
It's been like 3 whole weeks since we watched a bunch of anime based on visual novels, so we might as well jump back in with one more for Pride Month! If you've read the episode title and recognize the name, you already know what you're getting in to. If not, then oh man do we have a treat for…

Episode 26 - Princess Jellyfish
Tia write the copy oh god i can'-
-

Like Chilean Miners emerging from the mineshaft, our start to Pride Month re-emerges after getting stuck in poor-editing hell! Let's talk about Utena with our special guest, Paisley of Sincerely, Paisley! It's gonna be goooooood. Sponsor music provided royalty free from www.bensound.com
