We Can Do Better...
Today's episode highlights Halloween shenanigans for the Mr and myself. People and couples needing to prioritize occasions and events just for them. It's okay to support but put yourselves first once and a while. Not waiting almost a year like we did. Also touching on the rush for Christmas needs to stop the minute it's November. What happened to being thankful and enjoying the autumn/fall season? I also touch on how people need to stop expecting everything from the "strong friend." Strong friends go through things just like everyone else. How come we don't get checked on like others? Strong friends left unchecked are sometimes the ones who hide the pain and unfortunately inflict some sort of self harm one way or another because they feel unfelt. Stop listening to react and respond! Listen to understand and show empathy. No one wants to be felt like their feelings don't matter after they've expressed themselves. We can do better in all areas. We can do better for ourselves and give ourselves the enjoyment we need and deserve and not just supporting others. We can do better by being thankful and embrace this time of year instead of trying to rush through to Christmas. Being thankful for the blessings we have because though we may not see it we have things to be thankful for that others don't.We can do better at SEEING our strong friends. Seeing how they're feeling. Seeing how they're coping with their circumstances if any. Seeing how we can be of support to them and truly listen to their needs not implementing our own ideals. Meeting them where they're at when they've opened their hearts and laid it all down.Today's episode is one where I truly want you to think about what you can do better. Think back to past occurrences and think about what could've been done better or said better. Remember actions speak louder than words
