Its been a while since we have been in the studio! This episode was recorded over a year ago, and it shows! Dave and Jason still struggle with the vocabulary of our kids… We said something that might be PG-13…. Problem is, we are not sure…  

Its been a minute, but Dave and Jason are back at it! Discussing board games(Dave feels like they should be called BORED games) Whatever….  Dodge Ball, Throwing balls right at your face…. And Concussions…. The guys have been concussed… More than once… Probably best for us to stick to Corn Hole.

Dave and Jason go through a brief fit check(that’s what the kids are saying these days) and then quickly we digress into belly buttons and parades! What an episode! 

The Boys are back! Dave and Jason, after several months on hiatus, are back! In this episode we discuss traveling. Cross country flights with no ability to crack a window prove to be quite challenging for Jason… and that is just the beginning… Dave would struggle too, as his acute smelling sense is known to be one of his super powers. Ailments. The guys are not well (mainly Jason). They are both well into their 40’s… closer to 50 than 40 actually. They (mainly Jason) are not aging well. From bad feet to rashes where nobody wants rashes,  to needing to rub Mentholatum basically everywhere…   They (again, mainly Jason) go into great detail of their ailments… Except Dave… Dave has a cold. That’s it. Dave seems to be ailment free. Jason is falling apart. Note: We “thought” we were recording this episode for our YouTube channel. Jason forgot to press the record button. There are things in this life, that nobody wants to do again. Jason and Dave share a few of their things… Dave: Never wants to hang Christmas lights or get punched in the face… again. Jason: Participate in a Hostess Party? No thank you very much. The guys get a little vulnerable in this one… or are they just whiny? In what can only be referred to as one of the greatest road trips of all time, Jason takes Dave to Grouse Creek! Heather and Suzie joined as well. “The only problem was not being able to stay longer…” Dave was overheard saying. Join the guys as Jason shared all of his favorite haunts with Dave. The guys make the jump into the world of YouTube! This is our first podcast, that we actually filmed! We did this, because in this episode, we share some of our favorite things. How many Halloween movies are there? Tons! So we thought we could do a Halloween Pod Part II. Besides, everyone knows that the sequels are always better… Dave HAS put on face paint before… he didn’t like it then, he doesn't like it now. And all Jason wants is a delicious puffed rice ball from sweet Naomi for Halloween… 

Budge II. Dave and Scott share fighting techniques. Jason and Scott bond over their mutual love of fig newtons… but we all come together as we celebrate the perfection of what  is known as the double cheese at McDonalds… Even the cheese paper is delicious! 

Dave’s long time childhood friend and fellow small town boy Scott Budge visits the studio! This guy has it all! Complete with a BB gun wound to the arm… BB might still be in there… who knows? 

If you have smuggled chili over state lines, enjoy an occasional Fish Filet at McD’s or consider eating a Big Mac at midnight intuitive eating, then you are in good company with Jason and Dave. Dave thinks he could pound a whole box of twinkies, Jason would go for the Ding Dongs… Challenge accepted!

The guys dip their toes into the world of High Fashion. Dave doesn’t think it exists in our area. Jason disagrees… They settle on mid fashion. But honestly, if Guess, Girbaud, Silver Tabs, Parachute Pants, or The Bon Marche doesn’t scream out High Fashion, then what does?

Turns out that there are small towns everywhere – even Canada! Dave’s buddy Mitch, who hails from - get this - a Hamlet(that’s Canadian for small town) in Alberta Canada! Mitch gives the pod the international flair we have been missing! So buckle up, as we journey across the border to the land where bikes are too big and come with banana seats and sweet cherries can be found on every ham!

It is Saturday morning – 6AM. Only one place to find Jason – Right in front of the TV, snuggled in a blanket with nothing on but his UnderRoos armed with a bowl of Coco Puffs! Saturday morning cartoons are classic. Dave loves cartoons as well – but only the ones that started 10:00 or later… 

Only one of the guys is an Eagle Scout… Spoiler alert, its Dave. Go easy on Jason… he has some merit badges… 6 to be exact. We discuss many of the wonderful benefits of Scouting… What merit badges we do have, what ones we wish we had, and those that we probably need to give back.

Dave and Jason are joined by their WAY better half’s…. or is it halves? IDK… for our anniversary episode! Suzie and Heather set the record straight! Kind of… Sort of… 

Shel Silverstein poems, rice crispies, bad smells…..  If there is a more random podcast that we have done, I can’t remember it. This was fun! 

It is evident early on in the pod that Jason nor Dave know much about what it takes to be a Winter Olympian… But, can you eat school lunch and then go 10 rounds on the school yard merry go round? These guys can!

“Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” ….We don’t even know what a gift horse is! The guys discuss old timey sayings… Most make no sense at all… but some do… See ya in the funnies! Full disclosure: Dave has to bleep Jason more than once in this episode... That guys swears like a sailor!

Jason and Dave have never been great at making(let alone keeping) New Year’s resolutions. However… That does not stop them from making resolutions for other people… You know what your problem is…?

Jason and Dave revisit Christmases past! School Christmas plays, family nativities, and traditions galore! “That’s right, Merry Christmas Everyone!”

Two words: Demolition Derby. Feel the chills go up your neck as our good friend Dan Grange puts us behind the wheel of his mid 70’s model GM derby car! Perhaps one of our most immersive podcasts yet! The only driver tougher than Dan? Dani… his wife.

Thanksgiving! Dave and Jason’s favorite holiday. Jason is a master carver… taking it to an almost artistic level, and Dave… Dave employs the violent method of spatchcocking… Happy Thanksgiving!

The age of the informercial! Also known as the age of buyers remorse… Jason and Dave share some of their best late night purchases!!! “But Wait! There’s More!!!” From work out videos, to Ginsu Knives, and everything in between. Take 30 minutes and listen, and then wonder how you have gone your whole life without some of these life changing products!

It’s the bulls and mud, it’s the dust and blood… so says Garth Brooks… In this episode it becomes painfully…painfully clear, that Dave nor Jason know anything about rodeos… Doesn’t stop them from talking about them though…

Fun Fact: Dave has never had a cavity. This is of course disputed by Suzie… It may not seem funny or fascinating, but jumping down the rabbit hole of Jason and Dave’s dental habits proves more fun than you might think…

Jason and Dave(mainly Jason) get a bit sappy as they reminisce about things in their past. Dave gets right into his “feels” and Jason discovers he may be a hoarder just waiting to happen!

Our good friend Crae drops in to say hello, he shares some of the finer points of growing up in Peoa (Can I buy a vowel?) Utah. Ever apple a cow? Neither had we. And, apologies to Dave’s mom Jan… Conversation led to #2… Why does that always happen?

Dave’s long time childhood friend Ryan joins the pod today and corroborates pretty much all of Dave’s stories. He reminds us that Dave does indeed eat deer meat…as long as it is paired with PurpleSaurus Rex Kool-Aid.

Grade School Memories… Jason pees himself just in time for school pictures, and Dave reprises his iconic role in the Challenger Memorial Assembly! Also… Jason and his Mom may have committed fraud…

Communication is discussed. How do you prefer to say hello? Personal visit, phone call, text, simple wave? Or do you prefer a more bold approach? Jason’s preferred method? Care Bear Stare. Dave’s? He simply rips his shirt off… All have their place.

Jason and Dave are not Doctors, but they play one on this podcast… From chipped teeth to appendicitis, These guys have seen the inside of an emergency room more than they would like to admit… Spoiler alert, Dave no longer has his appendix – Jason does…. However they both have scars… Weird…

Dave drives an Econoline Van down Miami Beach. Dave sets the bar very high as it relates to fashion in the 80’s (Jason also rocks the tucked in T-Shirt), and Jason learns that whilst traveling with Aunt Sharon, it is every person for themselves! At least as it relates to chocolate cookies…

Nick Z makes another appearance on the podcast! We learn more about dairy farming, and what one does during the down time on the farm. Aluminum bats and rocks? Sounds like a fun time!

Jason and Dave welcome their good friend Nick Z. to the podcast! Dave and Jason don’t know a lot about Dairy Farms, but Nick sure does. Jason prepares to jump into the cess pool(for a noble cause), and Dave gets a real close look at farm life behind the scenes!

Dave catches Jason in a gross mispronunciation. Jason feels strongly about adding a new word to the dictionary, and we learn what it means in Dave’s world when somebody needs to go “bumps.”

Dave and Jason share their secrets on how to obtain the best Dad bod available. For Dave it requires a tight 10 hours of sleep every night, and for Jason the secret really is found at McDonalds. Dave’s pearl of wisdom for this one: “Eat the bun!”

Marathons, Hot Yoga, 75 mile bike rides and more, Dave and Jason share some of their experiences on exercising and how things have changed since entering their 40’s. Jason actually tries a few stretches and Yoga poses in the studio!

“Hi, my name is Dave and I suffer from Masklophobia.” “Hi Dave!” Dave makes absolutely no progress on his phobia in Episode 7 as he claims that all 2 of his issues stem from Halloween. Jason makes a great impression on his new boss. And both agree that a new holiday – “Falladay” should be implemented across the board.
