Special Edition iPhone3G Launch Edition: Dan Lane reports live from the Apple store on the collective balls-up that O2 and Carphone Warehouse made of the iPhone 3G launch. Little did he know at the time of recording he had almost another 4 hours to wait...

Mr MacLeod is back from his desert island this week and we're back in SMS Text News Towers too - normal service has been resumed. This week we preview Ewan's write-ups on the technology he took with him - the stuff that made it through customs and the stuff that didn't. We also celebrate Orange's entry to the 21st century with a sensible data tariff and their latest customer, talk about Yahoo's developer platform 'Blueprint', handset pricing, unlimited drinks Dublin and our usual 'things of the week'. All in just about 40mins... how do we do it?

This week Ewan's still on his desert island, James is in a muddy field (Glastonbury apparently) so Ben and Dan talk to special guest Jay Fenton on subjects including the Nokia buy-out of Symbian, Nokia's problem with product leaks, the new 'UK network' UK01 and the furore over Roger's tariffs for the iPhone in Canada plus 'things of the week'.

This week Ewan's still on his desert island but has managed to send us an update anyway. Ben, James and Dan discuss the launch of Nokia's E71, Dan's self-build phone, James' upcoming Glastonbury trip, Canadian mobile data, proposals for incoming call charges by an EU commissioner, Unlimited Drinks Dublin as well as the usual shouts and 'things of the week'.

Ewan's off this week on his way to a desert island with enough mobile hardware to confuse them at Heathrow airport. In his absence the team discuss a number of the recent and forthcoming events (including our very own 'Unlimited Drinks'), review the Jawbone headset, discuss CLI-spoofing outfit Spookcall, get excited about budget S60 handsets and highlight their 'things of the week'. Recorded by phone, this episode has extra smooth-jazz hold music magic.... nice.

This is the 8th installment of the podcast, recorded on Friday 6th June. With a cast of thousands (well 5 at peak) it's another big’un (60mins or there about) and well over 30 additional minutes hit the edit-room floor (metaphorically, I used a laptop) this week.
