    The People vs. Larry Flynt

    This is a brilliant film directed by Milos Forman, released in 1996 that garnered several Oscar nominations. It was co-produced by Oliver Stone and star Woody Harrelson as the publisher of Hustler Magazine, Larry Flint, Oscar nominee Courtney Love, who plays Althea Flynt and Ed Norton who plays Flynt's lifelong attorney who delivers a fantastic performance when he is litigating in the Supreme Court on Flynt's behalf, against evangelist Jerry Falwell. It's beautifully acted, it's humorous, touching and inspiring to watch, as Flynt built his publishing empire over decades, eventually publishing 29 different magazines with global distribution.

    Oliver Stone's Classic War Drama Platoon

    This is a film review of Oliver Stone's timeless war drama, Platoon, made in 1986, starring Charlie Sheen, Willem Defoe, Johnny Depp and Tom Berenger, filmed in the Philippines over 55 grueling days, yet intended to take place in the Vietnam war. It is a classic, and has been accredited with being one of the greatest depictions of war. It was written and directed by Stone, based upon his autobiographical journey during the Vietnam war.

    Scrapper, a British comedy, on Prime video.

    Scrapper is a British comedy starring Lola Campbell and Harris Dickinson, set in a London suburb, about a 12 year old trying to survive on her own, during her summer holidays, after the devastating death and loss of her mother. She is dealing with loss, grief, responsibility, the adult world and emotional survival. It's a poignant heart-felt film about grief, relationships and survival, presented from the perspective of a 12 year old, laced with sensitive moments and longing, all in a comedic tapestry of a script. Tune in for a comet review!
