Inside the World of a Modern Jester: Alex Feldman

Who finishes the Boston Marathon on a unicycle and still has energy to make the world laugh? Alex “The Jester” Feldman, the gibberish-speaking, rule-breaking performer who’s redefined what it means to be a “wise fool.” On this episode of So What Do You Really Do?, Deadair Dennis Maler digs into Alex’s extraordinary journey from anthropology student to Commedia dell’arte-inspired trailblazer. They discuss how a college juggling club ignited Alex’s passion for physical comedy, leading him to train at the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater, and how a pivotal performance at Montreal’s Just for Laughs launched his career. Alex shares stories about family tragedy, the unicycle stunt that turned heads (and caused some headaches), and the philosophy of being a modern-day fool with something to say. This episode is a masterclass in following your passion, bending the rules, and embracing the absurd. KEEP UP WITH ALEXWhile most comedy engages the language center of our brain, Alex’s visual humor, sight gags, and light-hearted music bypasses the head altogether and goes straight to the heart.Feldman’s love of music, comedy, cirque, magic and a touch of mischief ultimately gave birth to the impish rascal that audiences worldwide have come to know and love as Alex the Jester. The persona that Feldman has brought to life through Alex the Jester is one that combines the costuming and skills of Cirque du Soleil with a brand of humor that is seldom found elsewhere. He not only entertains with his hilarious routines — he inspires the audience to express themselves, and is ready to improvise with them at the drop of his floppy hat. They are co-creators.They know that, together, they’ve contributed to a show that will never be quite duplicated. With this shared accomplishment, many leave the performance walking on air and feeling closer to those around them. And some forget where they put their keys!He performs clean comedy. It’s perfectly fine if young people are present. In fact, theaters often book him as a means of developing the audiences of tomorrow. But make no mistake- this is no kiddie show! The costuming and skills evoke cirque du soleil, with an extra dose of laughter. Most notable, Alex takes the audience on a journey. They enter the world of the wise fool, where crazy sounding gibberish makes perfect sense. They laugh at that rare sliver of humor that is understood around the world. They get involved at his interactive humor, and by the end of the show, everyone feels a little bit closer to one another.Website: https://alexthejester.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexfeldmancomedy/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alexthejester💥 UNLEASH YOUR INNER DENNIS🔥🕺🔗 Follow Dennis | https://linktr.ee/deadairdennis🌐 Website | https://www.deadairdennis.com/🎭 PRESENTED BY BIG COMEDY NETWORK 🎭🌐 Website | https://www.bigcomedynetwork.com/📸 Socials | @ilovebigcomedy🏆 TEAM🏆🎤 Creator & Host: Deadair Dennis Maler🌟 Presented By: Big Comedy Network🎶 Music: Scott Lester & The Dirty Dottys🎨 Cover Art: April Richelle🙌 Special Thanks: Ewan Gotfryd🏆 Full Credits: https://rb.gy/46rrsDISCLAIMERIn our content, including but not limited to podcasts and streaming series, we may discuss, mention, or review products, services, or companies. With his razor-sharp wit and magnetic stage presence, he quickly became a standout, earning recognition at renowned comedy festivals along the way. 🎤😄But fate had a different plan for Schlegel when he caught the attention of 98 Rock hosts Kirk McEwen and Mickey Cucchiella. This unexpected encounter ignited a new chapter in his career, bringing him back to his broadcasting roots and paving the way for his own late-night program and ultimately, the coveted morning host spot. 🎧🌟ABOUT JUSTINThe Baltimore community knows Justin Schlegel’s voice very well, given he’s co-hosted the popular morning radio program, Justin, Scott & Spiegel, since the show’s inception in 2013. Viewers can tune in at 98 Rock to hear Schlegel from 5:30 in the morning to 10 AM.As a natural entertainer, Schlegel first explored the radio industry when he got into the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. He was often at the top of his class and tutored other students, so it’s no surprise that upon completion of his studies, he was hired for stations WYCR and WHVR to perform board operation duties. Since he didn’t align with the company, after five years, he quit his job and went to a bar, where he found himself performing standup comedy. Suddenly, he performed 15 shows a month, hired an agent, was touring nationally, and even made it into the prestigious comedy festival, Just For Laughs, in Montreal. One night, he was approached after a comedy set by 98 Rock hosts, Kirk McEwen and Mickey Cucchiella, and they asked him to feature on their show. He impressed the station, returned to his broadcasting roots, and spent years recurring all over 98 Rock before he was offered his own late night program: The Justin Schlegel Fiasco. Eventually, he was moved up to afternoons, and then he received the coveted spot as morning host.Website: https://www.98online.com/show/justin-scott-and-spiegel/Instagram: @justin98rock Cameo: https://www.cameo.com/justin98rock 💥 DEADAIR DENNIS🔗 Follow | www.linktr.ee/deadairdennis🌐 Web | www.deadairdennis.com🎭 BIG COMEDY NETWORK 🌐 Web | www.bigcomedynetwork.com📸 IG | www.instagram.com/ilovebigcomedy👍 FB | www.facebook.com/ilovebigcomedy🐦 Twitter | www.twitter.com/ilovebigcomedy🎤 Created and Hosted by Deadair Dennis Maler🌟 Presented by Big Comedy Network🎶 Music by Scott Lester & The Dirty Dottys🎨 Cover Art by April Richelle🙌 Special Thanks to DigBostonAFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURESome links in the description may be affiliate links.
