     A good friend of Rons called him the other day and told him she has pancreatic cancer. Obviously Ron spend a long time visiting with her. But she had always been a heavy drinker of alcohol all her life, and smoker. Ron talks about why do things to your body that will accelerate the process of your lifespan. He also talks about when some people are on drugs, they steel, cause drama, etc. To help prevent being in a bad situation, if you have young children get them involved in martial arts, sports, youth groups something to help keep them on the right track.

     Ron has a student that is so anxious to be successful at martial arts that she does not realize how much time an effort she will have to put in. It takes time to reach success in anything. You have to go through the struggles, experience the ups and downs. No matter what struggles you are going through, hang in there and work to get better.

The majority of them were retired and some were retired military and had lived a good life with a lot of wisdom. The point is you never know who you are going to run into on a weekly basis that could influence you. You should always be searching for mentorship and people that can help you in a positive way as you try to reach your goals in life. Also he talks about the implant revolution. A new hope for addiction.

Most people are afraid to be uncomfortable and they put things off or don't address them at all. Don't make excuses, hit everything head on and learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

     Ron was talking to his friends at the gym, and they were all going through different types of challenges. And they were all in a good mood! You know why? They were all working out! We all go through challenges all the time and the key is knowing how or figuring out how to manage them. Also Ron brings up that working out treats depression sometimes better than pills.

Even if you are uncomfortable, dont use being sick as an example as an excuse to quit or stop working towards your goals.

     Ron did a Jiu Jitsu tournament this past weekend and was entered into a bracket with competitors much younger than he was. However he went into it with confidence and enjoyed the competition, but got his butt whipped! He said that younger people were encouraged by what he did. Also he said by doing something he was uncomfortable with, it made him better. So its ok to do things that are uncomfortable, it will make you grow and become better at what you are doing. Also Ron talks about new technology and science that is helping people to walk that could not before.

     Ron talks about one of his hero's recently passed away, Chuck Norris. He really looked up to him and followed his career. He was very influential and inspirational in the martial arts community and always recommended getting children involved in martial arts at an early age. Also Ron talks about setting your own goals to achieve success, not fame. You can have multiple successes along your journey of the many goals you set in life.

     Ron talks about depression and how its a real thing and should always reach out for help. People that have attempted suicide say that they did not want to bother or burden their friends or family so they kept everything to themselves. So always reach out for help, no matter what so you have a better chance to change your course in life. Also Brent talks about how a study shows shorter people are more likely to live longer!

     People complain about everything today it seems like. Ron takes uses the Lyft Drivers for his transportation every day. They are always complaining about something. Don't waste energy and time on complaining and thinking negative thoughts. Focus on the positive and things that are important that will improve your situation. Also an 81 year old man that is a sprinter almost broke a world record! So don't let age slow you down!

     People ask Ron all the time why doesn't he retire and to him retiring is like like throwing in the towel or dying. He said do what you enjoy and are good at every day of your life. He also gives the example of Alysa Liu that won the gold medal in figure skating at the olympics. She retired at a young age from skating, but came back with a different mindset and attitude and had a blast doing all of her performances. She said it was fun to skate again.

     Ron talks about how many people are mesmerized by people with fame and notoriety. They put their pants, or clothes on just like you. Be motivated and follow people that are doing things more meaningful and helping people. He also talks about a prayer he says each day to start the day off right.

     Ron talked to a guy at the gym that was singing while he worked out. The guy said he loves working out to try and be healthy, but he smokes pot quite a bit. So Ron saw an opportunity to talk to him about things he talks about all the time on the podcast. He said since you are trying to have a healthier lifestyle, you should really try to figure out why you smoke pot. There are things going on in your life that you are trying to mask or avoid and the best thing is to face it head on and find the resources to solve your issues because smoking pot is just a feel good band aid.

     This is Ron's first Talk Show episode. His special guest is Cody Lemons. He is Ron's martial arts coach and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Cody talks about his life growing up, going into the military, then talks about when he got out of the military he attended a Jiu Jitsu school. He said he was in good shape and had some marital arts training but was humbled when a black belt worked out with him that was older and had a beer gut. He stuck with the program and worked very hard to get his black belt and now has his own school.

     When lady Gaga was going to school to perfect her craft many of the students said bad things about her and hated on her online because she was different in their eyes and eccentric. She continued to practice and work hard and overcame the hatred and went on to have a successful career. Do your thing whatever your thing is. Work hard and believe in yourself and hang out with good people. Be consistent with your craft whatever it is and stay the course.

     Ron talks about how Brad Pitt did not make the basketball team in school, so he went out an started his own team so he could play the game. He was very determined to get where he wanted to go and did not give up. Also early in his acting career, he was extras in some movies but continued to stay the course and put the work in, and now he is a global superstar! Also Chappel Roan was dropped from her label, went back home and continued to write and work, then her career skyrocketed. The message is don't give up, enjoy the ride and put in the work to get where you want to go. Also Brent talks about U.S. women are injecting fat from dead people into their bodies, face, hips, breasts, buttocks to achieve an hourglass figure. The fat is harvest from organ and tissue donors who have donated their bodies to science.

Also talks about working out is not a guarantee you will live longer, but if you work out on a regular basis, 3-6 days a week, you will be a happier person and have a happier life.      Michael Bolten was having financial troubles and the bank was about to foreclose on his home. He finished his album and it was a success and he was able to pay his home off. Behind every success story there are a whole lot of failures. The key is don't every give up and stay the course. Also once you hit your goal, its important to set another one because if you don't you may feel let down.

     Ron talks about how both Uber and Lyft both struggled in the beginning and had a lot of negative press in the early years and finally figured it out and now they carved their own path and are both profitable. Never give up! Also his car is broke down and he has been using lyft to get around and talks about his experience. Plus he has met some interesting people (drivers). One of the drivers is wanting to be a stand-up comedian and is getting ready to do some shows, so Ron invited him to come by because he is in the entertainment business.

     Drugs can cause problems in your life, even if you are not intentionally trying to get addicted and keep you from getting where you want to go, and even worse cause you to lose everything. Ron tells a story where a guy that had a nice family, home, friends, etc got injured and was put on pain killers. Well over a short time he became addicted and started selling things to support his habit. Ended up losing his family and started stealing to support his drug addiction. Went to jail for a few years. During this time in jail he worked on turning things around and he is now out of jail, has a business with employees and has his life back on track.

     Being persistant pays off! Ron decided in his home improvement and repair business he was going to learn some new skills and started going on some service calls. He had some success and enjoyed being around the homeowner, and learned a lot! Never give up on trying to better yourself!

     Ron talks about don't try to be a perfectionist. It is not healthy and it suggests you are afraid to fail. Plus you cannot let your ego get so big that you feel like you cannot fail. You have to be willing to fail to succeed. Don't worry about being perfect, just focus on improvement.

     Ron tells a story about a doctor in inner city Chicago that helped everyone that was sick or hurt, even if they could not afford to pay him. He did this for many years, then the doctor himself became very sick and did not have insurance, so the community rallied together and raised money for him to cover his health costs.

     Ron tells a story where a guy dressed up as captain america and went around stealing things from homeowners to support his drug habit. He eventually was caught and put in jail. It was all over the internet and a classmate saw it and reached out to him because he owned a recovery center. The guy went through the program and got his life back on track and is now helping others at the recovery center.

     Ron talks about how he broke his collar bone at 61 when he first started lifting weights. Also he read a story where a young guy in New York City was a chess master playing at an elite level. However people made fun of how he looked. So he make a decision to start working out and also boxing. And now he as become a chess boxer. You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.

     Ron talks about a friend that beat his gambling habit through faith. Also he read a story about Steve Harvey. In the beginning of his career he was living out of his car trying to make it. He was discouraged and about to give up when he checked his voicemail and the message was from the Apollo Theater in New York, and they had a gig for him. He only had $35 in his pocket and not enough to pay his way to New York. He checked his second voicemail and it was from a club in Florida booking him for $150. So he rushed there and they liked him so well they booked another night. So with his $300 he flew to New York to make the show at the Apollo Theater. They liked him so well he ended up hosting the show for over 8 years. So don't give up, stay the course of what you want to do!

     There was an article Ron was reading about a longevity doctor that said at the age of 75 years old, the bottom drops out for both men and women. Also if you fall and break a hip, over 50% die within a year. So it is extremely important that you exercise and eat right to stay as healthy as possible. Encourage your family members, parents and grandparents to do the same.

     Ron told a story about John Rockefeller who got into the oil business in the 1920's and at one point controlled 80% of all oil production in the United States. He became very wealthy in his 20's and continued to build wealth. Then in his early 50's he became sick and was given about a year to live. He struggled with this and became depressed. Then he called his attorneys and changed his will to give all of his wealth to hospitals and foundations to come up with better medical technology. Then after about a year, he started feeling better. Then sometime later he became well and was not sick anymore. He lived to be 96. While it is great to be financially successful, you should always be a giver.

    When Sam Walton started with his first Walmart store, he had no idea how far it might go. When he was up to 1000 stores, he told the shareholders that he projected over 30 billion in sales. And now there are over 10,000 stores worldwide doing approximately over 600 billion in sales. So, you never know how far your vision can take you until you try.

     Ron talks about a great story he read over the past week where an ultra marathon race took place about 20 years ago in Australia. The race was from Sydney to Melbourne which is about 444 miles. All of the athletes were dressed very similar, except for one. There was an older gentleman that wore overalls and rubber boots. Because he stood out from the crowd, they interviewed him and found out he was a sheep farmer and ran all the time chasing his sheep. The race took place with the majority of participants sleeping some then running some. However the sheep farmer did not sleep at all and ended up winning the race. The story shows to not judge a book by its cover.

     Ron talks about being kind to others and help those in need when you can all the time. Recently he was at a gas station to get air in one of his tires, and a guy came up to him and offered to put air in his tire for him. Ron said thank you! We need more kindness in this world, I appreciate your kindness! He said thanks, that is what it is all about, share it! And STAY POSITIVE! Ron says that all the time, and wondered if he was an angel? Be kind and nice to people.

     Ron had a friend years ago that he made a bet with that if she stopped smoking he would do something really nice for her. They moved and 20 years later he got a call that she had a heart attack and was in poor health. Ron talks about how you should take care of your body and exercise. He said he read where 22% of the US population is smoking or vaping.

     Some people that have high IQs have an advantage over others in life, but that is not the majority and not everyone has that advantage. Many times they don't have common sense so it does not matter if its easy or hard, keep working towards your goal. Ron talks about a story he read about a guy that went to California during the gold rush days in the 1800's and spend all his money and time, and worked for months and months not finding gold. He gave up and left the mine, someone else took it over and it was not long before that person did find gold. So the moral to the story is never give up.

There is about only 500 artists that have hit a billion streams, and Lady Gaga is one of them. There are many other ways to promote yourself and generate exposure and income. A lot of Independent artists are creating their own path today. If it is something you really want to do, then go for it and don't give up!

     Ron believes you should check to see where you are at every day in life goals. Each day you are either in 1 of 4 places, Emergency, Survival, Par or your are advancing. And every day is different and there are things that can affect the outcome. Money, health, luck, economy, addiction and more. He also discusses some new medical news he read about regarding heart transplants and advancements in cancer research.

     Ron talks about you should act on your ideas. "I'm the conductor, and the world is by audience" You are the master of your own journey. If you have an idea and you want to run with something, you can make anything happen! Now you may try multiple times with many challenges, but keep trying! Rons old coach used to tell him, "A fighter fights, and you have to face your fears or you will become a prisoner in your own mind for the rest of your life". You cannot go through life putting your head in the sand, you need to face things head on and find solutions on how to get there.

     Many people across the board experience in their life someone they know that has had cancer or heart disease, or other types of diseases or even accidents that happens unexpectedly. So even if they were healthy, or were trying to eat right and work out, this can still happen. But because you or they were exercising and eating right, it will make it easier to manage and even recover through the treatment or process needed. Ron talks about some news he was reading about that they are working on a new cancer vaccine that is close to be rolling out, and in Israel they have developed a program to grown spinal cords that is already working on animals.

    Ron was visiting with a friend that was depressed and not happy. She told him her mom was a drug addict and they moved around a lot. She was in and out of foster care and was hanging around the wrong people. Ron said she had poor influence in her life and encouraged her to surround herself with good people and change the path you are currently on so you can improve yourself. He told her to not give up!

     Ron talks about addiction. He read an article that talks about the hardest part of quitting a drug. He said the brain is re-wired to tell you that you don't feel good unless you take the drug. Also some people are born with something that causes depression, so at some point they experiment with drugs to try and feel better and not depressed for a little while. It is very hard to overcome addiction to drugs, but it can be done with the right approach and help.

     One of Rons students came up to him and said they finally quit smoking. Ron was glad that he did something to put him on a healthier path. Also Ron knows some people that have anger issues, and it affects their job and personal life. He did some research and found that they may have Episodic Dyscontrol Syndrome (EDS), also known as Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), is a mental health condition characterized by recurrent, sudden, and impulsive outbursts of anger or aggression that are disproportionate to the situation. So this is treatable and can help them control their anger.

     Ron shares his experience of going to the doctor to have his knees looked at. The Doc gave him some options, and Ron chose to have cortisone injections in his knees for now. After a day or so it made a world of difference and does not know why he did not do it sooner! So if you have challenges or your struggling with a situation, hit it head on! Don't hesitate!
