    We Watched Saint Maud (2019)

In this week’s episode Carmen and Sam discuss the 2019 religious horror film Saint Maud by Rose Glass. This movie is about a recent convert, Maud, who is searching for her self worth through God and religion. She goes on a journey to better others and herself as she commits acts of “God.” Carmen and Sam give a detailed synopsis of the movie allowing the viewers to feel caught up and ready to deep dive. The two go on to discuss the themes of the movies that they caught onto spiraling into discussions of grief, religion, etc. In the next segment, Carmen and Sam discuss questions they have about the movie, specific scenes and what they overall thought about the movie. This segment allowed them to discuss specific scenes between certain characters, share their theories and opinions, and to debate each other on certain opinions. It made for a great discussion on a vast array of topics from this movie. Finally, Sam and Carmen curated a list of half star rated Letterboxd reviews to read out loud and to break down with one another. It made for a heated discussion on other people and their so-called wrong opinions by the two. The two end on a five star rating to calm themselves down and end on a positive note.On our next episode we are going to be talking about Green Room an indie horror about a punk band fighting for survival after a bar fight so stay tuned for that.
