This week we return to the park as Mark and I discuss the scene in 'Jurassic Park' where the characters discuss the ethics of the theme park (which includes many iconic lines such as "Well, we'll have a, a coupon day or something". The scene, though only about three or four minutes long, gives us much to chew on from AI to nineties haircuts, metaphors for filmmaking, the theatrical nature of this scene (and the island tour) and beyond.

In this episode Kieran, Paul, and Mark (FIRST-TIME GUEST ON THE SPIELBERGPOD!!!) cover our final film of the Infinity Saga... it's Ryan Coogler's 'Black Panther.' (We also spend a substantial amount of time reminiscing about the X-Files right at the end, so be sure to stick around for that).

In this episode Paul, Kieran and I cover our final batch of Andor episodes - 'Make It Stop', 'Who Else Knows?' and 'Jedha, Kyber, Erso' - and we are not disappointed with what we have seen.

In this One Perfect Scene episode, Paul, Kieran and I continue to celebrate the 50th birthday of 'Jaws'- which came out exactly 50 years ago today - with a conversation on the final stretch of the Spielberg classic. So we're covering Quint's death (spoiler!) and the death of the shark (double spoiler!!)

Okay, Jaws turns 50 years old this very day - the film being released in the USA on June 20th 1975. Since this is a film very near and dear to us, we decided to mark this birthday by talking about the film once again. So, this is a One Perfect Scene episode, where Kieran, Paul and I talk about the unforgettable scene where young Alex Kintner is killed by the shark, towards the start of the film.

This week on the podcast, Kieran and I wrap up our series one coverage of Andor (and dance around not spoiling season two) with a discussion on the episodes 'Daughter of Ferrix' and 'Rix Road', which together make up the final arc of the season.

Since we are fast approaching the release of season two of the show, Kieran, Paul and I finally sat down to talk about the fantastic Star Wars show, Andor. And since we really liked this show, we're going to take our sweet time discussing this bad boy, so this in this episode we only talk about the first three episodes ('Kassa', 'That Would Be Me' and 'Reckoning'), which make up the recruitment arc. Hello! Today on the show Kieran, Paul and I have a focused chat on the Holdo maneuver sequence from Rian Johnson's 'The Last Jedi'. It's a scene we were all big fans of when the film came out and remain so today, and there was a lot to chew on with this (one) perfect scene. Expect talk on the career of Laura Dern too!

I'm planning on doing a bunch of Star Wars coverage in 2025, so I figured why not kick off the year by re-releasing our Holiday Special episode, which Kieran, Paul and I recorded back in 2018 for the sister podcast Easy Riders Raging Podcast, as part of its 1970s series.

In this episode, Kieran and I continue our ongoing Star Wars coverage with a discussion on the recent Disney+ show, The Acolyte. An adventure 65 million years in the making!!! So, today I finally sat down and edited the conversation Kieran and I had about about Steven Spielberg's 'West Side Story' that we recorded way way back in May 2022. Okay, when I open this episode with "Recorded a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" it turns out I'm a 1000% correct as this episode- where Paul, Kieran and I discuss Ron Howard's 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'- was recorded allllllllll the way back in May 2020. Yep, this was one of our early pandemic recordings, recorded during the very first lockdown. So expect a couple of references (both Star Wars and otherwise) to be more than a little dated, but it's a fun conversation between three Star Wars fans who have lots of thoughts on this movie. Oh, and 'the sister podcast' mentioned early on- Easy Riders Raging Podcast- is now (in 2023) on it's 4th series, where we are talking about 1980s films, TV and music videos. Obviously our 1950s run is still available from all good podcast places.

In this solo episode, I discuss the James Mangold film, 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny'. And because this film is super new I break it down into a non-spoiler review in the first half of the ep and then I get all spoilery in the back half of the episode.

In this episode, recorded back in Spring 2021 when we were still deeply in lockdown, Kieran, Paul and I discuss the Columbo episode 'Murder by the Book', which was both the first episode of that long-running show and an episode directed by Steven Spielberg. Things to note since this episode was recorded, Angela Lansbury has since sadly passed (we talk about her being still alive in the recording) and also Kieran states Natasha Lyonne would make a perfect Columbo- and recently she has been cast in a Columbo-esque role in Rian Johnson's show Poker Face (which Kieran told me recently is very good).
