Episode - 32: Building Cabins While The World Feels On Fire
Send us Fan MailIt’s 2 a.m., I’m tired, and my brain won’t stop spinning, so I hit record. After being gone for a bit, I talk honestly about what’s been pulling me away, what’s been keeping me up, and why everything feels strangely unreal lately. My thoughts jump from war anxiety and the fear of a draft to the way constant conflict can make the future feel fragile. Then I shift into the real-life stuff that’s kept me busy: narrating romance audiobooks and spending weeks on a hands-on cabin renovation project, turning two buildings into rental cabins with framing, drywall, electric, plumbing, insulation, paint, and everything in between. There’s something stabilizing about building something physical when the news feels like it’s on fire. From there, I wrestle with trust, media, and distance, reacting to the idea of going back to the moon while admitting how hard it is to believe anything you only experience through a screen. That doubt opens the door to flat earth curiosity, questions about “stitched” images, and the bigger modern worry: AI. I talk about layoffs, what universal basic income might look like, and why money can feel like an invented system that only works because we agree it does.If you like late-night personal podcasts that blend current events, anxiety, skepticism, burnout, and dark humor, you’ll feel right at home. Episode - 31: Today’s Agenda: Overthink, Avoid Work, Become A Squirrel
Send us Fan MailEver catch yourself staring down the same question on a loop—what is it all for—and realize you’ve been holding your breath? That’s where we pick up the thread: in the weird middle space between wanting a life that feels alive and slogging through routines that deaden the day. I talk about work that doesn’t fit, dreams that feel fragile, and the real friction of trying to start when confidence is low and distractions are loud.We go straight at the swirl: chasing meaning while the mind changes its mind, craving conversation and humor over status, and wondering how much attention to give the world’s noise without letting it hollow us out. I share how timelines slip when money is tight, how “vision boards” never stuck because I don’t want more stuff, and why travel, music, and small creative acts feel closer to purpose than any job title. We venture into cosmic what‑ifs and the lure of rabbit holes, then come back to earth with one clear trade: less consumption, more creation. There’s also the hard part I usually skip—how early loss and a boundary‑crossing adult scrambled my wiring, how that history still shadows self‑trust, and how I’m learning to speak without feeling like I’m bragging. Instead of pretending to have answers, I’m practicing better questions and smaller promises: fifteen minutes of guitar, one page in a journal, one honest share. The through line isn’t mastery. It’s motion. If you’re lost, you’re not alone; being lost is sometimes the only honest place to begin. If this resonates, hit play, sit with it, and then tell me one tiny step you’re taking this week. Episode- 30: The Unfiltered Mind: Ramblings on Politics, War, and Human Nature
Send us Fan MailSummer heat arrives in the Midwest, triggering a stream of consciousness that begins with sleep cycles but quickly spirals into deeper territory. Much like how mammals operate on different internal clocks - some creatures of daylight, others of darkness - we humans seem trapped in our own cyclical patterns of behavior. The heart of this monologue confronts modern political tensions, particularly surrounding immigration enforcement and protests. Why do people destroy their own communities in response to policies they disagree with? What's the psychological underpinning of this destructive cycle? These questions emerge alongside a raw examination of America's self-appointed role as global police force. The speaker draws a provocative parallel between government military actions and organized crime - creating problems to solve them while demanding payment from citizens through taxes.Perhaps most compelling is the exploration of addiction as a universal human trait. Whether we're hooked on coffee, power, or adrenaline-chasing behavior, everyone has their fix. Even governments and leaders seem addicted to conflict, needing increasingly frequent "hits" of war to satisfy their power urges. This perspective frames our societal problems not as aberrations but as predictable patterns in human nature. The vulnerability in this monologue comes through clearly - a person trying to make sense of complex issues while feeling increasingly disconnected from society. Sometimes talking to cats seems more productive than engaging with a world caught in a "time warp of repetitiveness." Yet beneath the cynicism lies a genuine desire for a more peaceful world.Have you ever felt this same disconnection while trying to process global events? Share your thoughts, subscribe for more unfiltered perspectives, and join a community of people asking the difficult questions about our collective future.Support the show

Episode - 29: I'm trying to figure out my place while the world seems to be falling apart.
Send us Fan MailThe world feels like it's burning around us. Wars in the Middle East, conflicts between nations, and social upheaval dominate headlines while technological shifts transform our daily existence. Against this chaotic backdrop, I find myself navigating my own midlife transition after nearly twenty years focused primarily on raising my children as a single father.Something profound happens when you suddenly have space to rediscover yourself. Over the past few months, I've been exploring creative pursuits that had long been dormant - narrating my first audiobook (a romance novel, of all things), dedicating myself to learning guitar after decades of on-and-off attempts, and even accepting voice acting work for a commercial. These aren't just hobbies; they represent a search for authentic purpose after years spent working jobs that never truly resonated with my soul. The strange juxtaposition of personal growth against global turmoil creates a unique psychological space. How do we pursue our individual journeys while questioning humanity's collective future? I find myself wondering if we're witnessing the decline of civilization, especially as artificial intelligence advances and our dependence on technology deepens. Maybe we're building the very systems that will fundamentally transform or replace us. Whether you're experiencing your own period of transformation or simply trying to make sense of our increasingly complex world, I invite you to join this raw, unfiltered exploration of life during uncertain times. If any of these thoughts resonate with you, I'd love to hear your perspective - what keeps you grounded when everything seems to be falling apart?Support the show

Episode - 28: Life in Transition
Send us Fan MailSometimes life takes unexpected turns, and you find yourself sleeping on a cot in your mom's dining room while narrating romance novels. That's exactly where I am after selling my house and purchasing land for my next chapter. The recent months have been a whirlwind of transition. While the constant rain has made development on my new property challenging, I've been putting critical pieces in place – investing in equipment like a mini excavator and skid steer to handle the heavy lifting, quite literally. These Chinese-made machines might not be top-of-the-line, but they'll save my back and get the job done. I've also picked up woodworking projects, crafting cedar planter boxes to help fund this transition period when outgoing expenses have outpaced income.Perhaps most surprisingly, I've finally taken the leap into audiobook narration – something people have been telling me to pursue for years given my "lovely voice." My temporary workspace in mom's basement has become a recording studio as I prepare to narrate my first romance novel. It's both exciting and nerve-wracking as I work on perfecting 15 minutes of clean, flowing narration without stumbling over words or pronunciations. With a deadline at the end of June, I'm embracing this new venture and looking forward to interviewing the author to help promote the finished product. Life certainly doesn't always follow a straight path, but sometimes the detours lead to the most interesting destinations. Stay tuned for updates as this journey continues to unfold.Support the show
