In John 10, Jesus uses the image of a flock of sheep and their shepherd to share how we might all receive abundant life. As we celebrate this year’s Earth Day, may we remember how our shepherd is instructing us to care for God’s creation.

The road to Emmaus is only a 7-mile walk, but it provides space to understand the scriptures. The journey models our worship: Gathering, Word, Meal, Sending. We gather in the presence of the risen Lord and go forth to embody his love.

Palm Sunday tells the story of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, at a moment filled with fragile possibility: would Jesus liberate the crowd gathered from their oppression? Or would the people’s hope be forever shattered?

In the midst of our Lenten journey, we hear the story of Jesus healing a man blind from birth in the gospel of John. We hear how God’s love for us is displayed through the diversity of humanity, and promised in our baptism.

An unnamed woman at a well in Samaria discovers the truth of Christ as “Living Water” allowing her divine imagination to sharing her faith with her community. We certainly need this Living Water now in these uncertain times.

The story of Nicodemus coming to Jesus by night reveals confusion of what God is doing through Jesus. Yet God will always bless us no matter what part of the journey we are on, and God’s love will always be waiting for us at the end.

Bread plays a prominent role in our daily lives, as well as in our life of faith. From bread on our communion table to Christ as the “Bread of Life,” and even bread in our scriptures today, bread is a gift from God meant to be shared.
