The show entitled "The Ugly Black Woman" was a beautiful performance written and created by Nicky Lawrence that amplifies and elevates Black Female Voices through original song and true storytelling. The stories were historical and modern day including rarely known true stories about influential Black Canadian women such as Mary Ann Shadd, Chloe Cooley, Viola Desmond and more. Enjoy!
