Under the Stars is a learning disability friendly nightclub run by people with a learning disability and their friends. We run proper nights out and people come to the clubs so they can have a good time in a safe environment, meet up with old friends and make new ones.We started the club nights in Sheffield in 2007 as people with a learning disability were asking for a proper night out. Now we run clubs in Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham and attract crowds of 600 to our bigger club events and have run over 15 clubs and on average run 10 club nights a year.We are a social enterprise which means we are a business that puts all its profits back into the organisation. We have a board of directors that includes people with and without a learning disability and family carers. They make all the important decisions about the business.
