IndyCar analyst Robin Miller is one of the world's most versed on the machinations inside IndyCar. That's why The Freaks had him in The Freak Nation Sunday night before IndyCar's next round in Houston next weekend. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Jeb Burton is part of a long line of NASCAR stars. His Dad Ward Burton was a long-time Sprint Cup driver. His Uncle Jeff Burton has a similar resume. We found one of the best media minds in motorsports, Speed.com's Motor Racing Editor Marshall Pruett. One of his primary beats is IndyCar and that put him in Toronto last weekend for the doubleheader weekend dominated by Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon. Pruett explained to us how IndyCar can continue it's climb back to the mainstream mindset of motor racing fans. Marshall Pruett also took some time to let The Freaks know how he feels about spec racing that dominates American open-wheel racing.

NASCAR TV Analyst Kyle Petty has been praised and vilified for his criticism of NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The issue surfaced again this week when Petty said Patrick would have difficulty becoming a stock driver and Danice replied she didn't care what critics like Petty said. USA Today Motorsports Writer Jeff Gluck is a long-time member of The Freak Nation. He was more than cooperative when asked to visit the Freaks about the rainy NASCAR weekend at Talladega where both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup races ended dramatically with a questionable finish in one race and a surprise finish in the other. Gluck also was quick to say a star Sprint Cup driver who was critical of NASCAR officials may be facing an expensive week ahead.

That, and the Nationwide accident on Saturday that saw more than two dozen fans injured when a car got into the catch fence and exploded into debris. The Freaks took a few minutes Sunday night to pay tribute to Jimmie Johnson's run for a sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup championship. His second win in a row Sunday in Texas expanded his small lead in the Chase for the Championship to seven points with two events left in Phoenix and Homestead. Chasing him is Brad Keselowski who finished second in Texas. The point? We're watching history in NASCAR and some people are upset because the history is being mae by Johnson. Are they NASCAR fans? Or fans of another driver who don't appreciate the history being made by Jimmie?
