Storying the Salish Sea

A podcast about humans and our surroundings; our relationships to each other and the worlds both within us and around us, along with our world’s relationships to us. Based in the Salish Sea, on Coast Salish soil, we hope to share stories and perspectives from many walks of life, and decolonize your understandings of the world, along the way. This podcast will grow and change along with the pushes and pulls of the my own life: the currents I find myself within. I do not make this podcast with the intent to push a view of life onto another, but rather to share various perspectives for listeners to do with what they will. It is up to you, as a listener, to make your own decisions and choose your own perspectives with what you’ve been given. What story will you tell? As always, diverge with care; care for yourselves, for the people around you, those who’ve come before, those who will come after, and all the l

2 | Dare to ask how it CAN be done

A start of a 30 day challenge, and a bit about reaching your aspirations. Another episode to start off this podcasts life with as much abandon (yet simultaneous consideration) as I can muster. Being the historical-perfectionist-to-a-fault that I have a tendency of being, it is very important for me to practice doing things in ways I personally perceive to be imperfect. Otherwise I wouldn’t be getting much of anything I want to get done, done. But that’s just something I’ve found to work for me. Maybe it’s not your jam. Either way this podcast might not have all of the bells and whistles you may find elsewhere yet, but neither do many a-great podcasts out there. Many great things start small. And many small things are great.

    Ep. 1 | It’s Time: where we’re at

Seeing as I forgot to introduce myself, Hi! My name is River Dove, and I’ll be your guide as we explore and rediscover life through a variety of eyes. In this first episode, I don’t talk about the podcast itself as much as simply sharing a lesson of self growth, and weaving a bit of a portrait of where I’m at in life right now. I’ve recorded a first episode many times, yet have been too scared to post one until today when inspiration struck. And this time, I followed through.Big thanks to a friend of mine who gave me some encouraging words of advice when it comes to putting yourself out there.
