Here are Your Idols | Comfort

May 10, 2026 While we may not struggle with kind of physical idol worship that took place in biblical times, we are still very much prone to the same problem of allowing something in our life to consume our affection other than God. We’re starting a brand-new series called, Here Are Your Idols. In this series we’re going to explore the modern-day idols that we have unknowingly enthroned in our life.Scriptures we dive into today: 2 Timothy 4:3-4, Exodus 34:11-16, John 6:25-45, John 6:66Thanks for listening! Change My Mind | Good Fruit

May 3, 2026 Just as we’re called to judge the kind of fruit we see in the lives of others, we should also judge the kind of fruit we’re producing in our life. This becomes an indication of personal growth. It’s easy to tell which trees are flourishing and which are struggling by looking at the fruit they’re able to bear. In our walk with God, we need to learn to pay attention to the kind of fruit we’re producing in our life. We need God to step in and direct our hearts on what is good fruit and what is bad.Scriptures we dive into today: Luke 6:43-45, Hebrews 6:1-2, John 13:34-35Thanks for listening! Change My Mind | A New Heart

April 26, 2026 In order for us to have a radical change of heart, we need something more drastic if we want that change to be enduring. Sometimes a change of heart is temporary, we can be moved to make a change in the moment, but what does it take to ensure that our change is lasting? For the believer, we need God to intervene if we want a true change of heart.Scriptures we dive into today: Ezekiel 11:17-22, Jeremiah 17:9-10, 2 Corinthians 2:18Thanks for listening! Change My Mind | Put Off the Old

April 19, 2026 All of us can identify with a comfortable piece of clothing that we just can’t let go of. The pair of pants that fit right, our favorite sweater, that sweatshirt that you got on vacation, those really comfy shoes that have no tread left, or the hat with the perfect brim that just fits right. We really have trouble letting go, even when we know it is time to retire our favorite piece of clothing. Paul uses this image of the familiar to help us understand what’s required to embrace our new life in Christ.Scriptures we dive into today: Deuteronomy 7:1-5, Colossians 3:5-10Thanks for listening! Change My Mind | Transform

April 12, 2026 The question, “change my mind”, gets at the heart of being a disciple. People make this kind of bold statement on social media to express what they believe as they challenge people to change their mind. They’re trolling for arguments. As disciples, it’s good for us to wrestle with our faith by asking questions, because it shows that we desire to grow our faith. What would happen to your faith if you invited God to change your mind?Scriptures we dive into today: Hebrews 5:11-14Thanks for listening! Easter Sunday | Behold the Savior!

April 5, 2026 He is risen! We celebrate Easter this year with a look at the famous moment in Mark 15 where the centurion declared, "Surely this man was the Son of God!" We look at how Jesus experienced the darkness of crucifixion and the glory of resurrection, taking our place as the sacrifice for our sins. Maybe we, like the centurion, have accepted this reality, but have we welcomed Jesus as the Lord of our lives as well? Do we, as Paul says in Colossians, "walk in Him"? As we celebrate the resurrection, let's reflect again on what it means to be God's resurrection people – wholly and dearly loved. Scriptures we dive into today: 1 Peter 2:24, Mark 15:33-39, Psalm 22:1-3, Colossians 2:6Thanks for listening! Messy Grace | Grace for Yourself

March 29, 2026 Guilt and shame make us feel stuck. We find ourselves broken to the point of praying for God’s grace, we ask for His mercy and forgiveness, in our heart and mind we know that we’re forgiven, yet, we can’t seem to move on. Feeling unforgiven is a stumbling block to our faith, which makes grace messy! It gets messy because it shows a lack of belief in what God says about forgiveness.Scriptures we dive into today: John 16:8-11, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Mark 16:1-7Thanks for listening! Messy Grace | Grace for the Outsider

March 22, 2026 We’re starting a brand-new series this morning called, Messy Grace. God’s grace doesn’t just save us; it changes us and challenges us to love and extend grace like He did. Grace gets messy, the believer is challenged to love people well in a broken world, while also staying rooted in biblical truth without compromising our faith. This morning’s message is titled, Grace for the Outsider.Scriptures we dive into today: Philippians 2:12-13, 2 Samuel 9:1-13, Romans 10:10-11Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ | Chapter 6, Grace Applied

March 8, 2026 Paul hammers home the truth that we are saved by God’s grace, not the works of the law. In chapter 6, he makes his final appeal, showing us what the community of grace looks like, living out our grace-given identity in Christ. He talks through how we can bear each other’s burdens as well as our own load, and restore others to spiritual health––all flowing from God’s grace and not in our own strength.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 2:20-21, Galatians 5:6, Galatians 5:26, Galatians 6:1-5, Matthew 18, Romans 12:1-8Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ | Chapter 5, Grace Applied

March 1, 2026 Paul “cut to the chase” in Galatians! Paul gets down to business, the point of grace is that we would learn to apply that grace to our lives. As we grow in grace, we grow in freedom. Because we are set free through Christ – don’t go back to being a slave to legalism. Paul has torn down all the arguments of the Judaizers built to make a case for the gospel of works. Now he will show us how to apply and look for the evidence of God’s grace in our life.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 5:1-26Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ | Chapter 4, Grace Explained

February 22, 2026 Legalism is one of the most dangerous & deceptive problems facing the Church because it disregards the reality that grace is both the message & the means of our salvation from the penalty & power of sin! In Galatians 3 & 4, Paul is warning his readers about depending on good works to earn God’s favor. In chapter 4, he presents three life–changing truths that help us overcome the problem of legalism.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 4Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ: Chapter 3, Grace Explained

February 15, 2026 We need God’s grace explained to us so that we can better relate to God and live out our faith. We believe that God’s grace saves us, but we don’t believe that grace will not sustain us. Paul preached Christ crucified, not obedience to the Law; this is the message we believe and it has changed our lives for all eternity. In Chapters 3 and 4 Paul explains the relationship between law and grace.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 3:1-29Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ: Chapter 2, Grace Defended

February 8, 2026 Paul defends the gospel of grace by pointing out our need for God’s grace. If I could become righteous through the Law, then Jesus died for no reason; His sacrifice was meaningless. This is the second premise of Paul’s defense of God’s grace. Paul is working to shape our view of grace as he helps us understand how desperately we need God’s grace.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 2:1-21Thanks for listening! Galatians, Freedom Through Christ: Chapter 1, Grace Defended

February 1, 2026 In our journey of faith, there is a fine line between legalism and obedience. Our walk with God can quickly become legalism in disguise, as we get more focused on the rules and laws instead of focusing on obedience that flows from God’s grace. Paul’s letter to the Galatians and to us, is meant to direct our faith toward the freedom we have from the law because we are saved by faith alone.Scriptures we dive into today: Galatians 1:1-24Romans 11:6Thanks for listening! Detox, Cleaning Out the Soul: Physical Detox

January 25, 2026 Our physical body is a temple of the Lord, yet how much care do we give to our physical bodies? We typically don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the things we’re consuming. In fact, if we’re being honest, we don’t think of our bodies being a temple, so we don’t spend a lot of time examining what we consume when it comes to movies, social media, music, or food. We need a physical detox to reorient the way we view our bodies.Scriptures we dive into today: 1 Corinthians 6:12-201 Corinthians 10:31Matthew 6:16-18Thanks for listening! Detox, Cleaning Out the Soul | Spiritual Detox

January 18, 2026 A physical detox eliminates certain foods and habits while including others in an effort to be healthier. Similar to a physical detox, a spiritual detox works by eliminating certain sins like anger, greed, and lust while adding in healthy habits like church attendance and private devotions with the hopes of having a healthier life of faith.Scriptures we dive into today: Hebrews 6:17-18Mark 14:37-381 Timothy 4:7-101 Samuel 15:22Romans 12:9-13Thanks for listening! Detox, Cleaning Out the Soul | Social Detox

January 11, 2026 Technology has become a two-edged sword. In some instances, it makes our lives simpler, opening pathways to information and connection. In other instances, it makes our lives more demanding because of the varied ways we have for connecting. We judge our friendships by followers and likes; we’ve lost sight of what God meant when He said we should love others the way He loves us!Scriptures we dive into today: Hebrews 10:24-25John 5:9-17Thanks for listening! Detox: Cleaning Out the Soul | Emotional Detox

January 4, 2026 While the holidays stir many memories and feeling that are good; they also are reminders of the things we’re holding against our loved ones. Hurt feelings, that last fight that was never resolved, those words that can be taken back, and the that thing that was said in the heat of the moment. The holidays remind us a lot of what stands between us.Scriptures we dive into today: Psalms 15:1-4Ephesians 4:17-32Thanks for listening! Detox: Cleaning Out the Soul|Mental Detox

December 28 , 2025 One of the ways God transforms our lives is through the renewing of our minds, and a mental detox might be in order for us especially after the holidays. God changes our thinking, in our theology. God changes our thinking, in holiness of our thought life. God changes our thinking, in the practice of gratitude. We participate in this transformation by surrendering our minds to Him, not just once but over and over throughout our journey.Scriptures we dive into today: Ephesians 1:7-10Zephaniah 4:22-24Romans 12:1-2Philippians 4:4-8Thanks for listening! Good News for Everyone| Mary and Joseph

December 21 , 2025 If you created a script of Mary and Joseph’s life, leaving out the supernatural parts of the story, I don’t think it would make the Hallmark Christmas list! The story of Mary and Joseph is really quite amazing when you consider everything that God did to make this event take place. The whole point of Mary and Joseph’s story is the miracle that occurred, the supernatural part of their story points to God’s glory! Everything about the birth of Jesus should cause us to respond with awe and wonder. We can look at this story with a sense of amazement, but imagine what it took for this young couple to follow God’s plans.Scriptures we dive into today: John 1:1Matthew 1:16Matthew 1:20-25Luke 1:26-38Luke 3:23Thanks for listening! Good News for Everyone | The Magi

December 14 , 2025 The Magi are unusual characters in the birth narrative of Jesus. The Magi came from the east, most likely Persia, or modern-day Iran. The Magi traveled nearly 1000 miles to see Jesus. This was not a spontaneous road trip. This was a deliberate journey to find the King of the Jews. It’s interesting, Israel was waiting for the Messiah to come, but it is these gentiles that are searching for the Messiah.Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 2:1-12Thanks for listening! Good News for Everyone | The Angels

December 7 , 2025 The angels of the New Testament were instruments used by God to inform Mary and Joseph what was happening and to announce to the world that the Messiah was born. The angels played a critical role as God’s Good News plan begins to unfold. As we will see, it is the angels the first deliver the news and it is the angels that first direct our hearts in worship.Scriptures we dive into today: Colossians 1:16Luke 1:26-38Matthew 1:20-25Luke 2:8-14Luke 2:22Thanks for listening! Good News for Everyone | The Prophets

November 30, 2025 Herald is a strange word, we don’t use it a lot, except when we sing “hark the herald angels sing”. A herald is a messenger sent to deliver an important message or decree on behalf of a king or high authority. In this case, to herald a message from God. God used prophets, angels, wise men, and a young family to announce the Good News of Jesus. Over the next several weeks, we will unpack each of these heralds in an attempt to better understand God’s perfect plan to spread this Good News.Scriptures we dive into today: 2 Peter 1:21Isaiah 52:6-10Isaiah 7:14Matthew 1:22-23Isaiah 9:2-6Hosea 11:1-4Matthew 2:13-15Micah 5:1-5Matthew 2:4-6Thanks for listening! November 23, 2025 Like a child helping their parent carry a heavy box, God invites us to help in the redemptive work of building His church. Multiply | Time

November 9, 2025 We’re starting a new series this morning called, Multiply. God has gifted each of us with time, talent and treasure; gifts that He desires for us to both use and to give back to Him. When we give these resources back to God, He does something supernatural, He multiplies what we bring! Our God is a multiplier. However, many of us look at our resources like a leftover labeler, we want to make sure that there is enough for us. We are willing to share our time, talent, and treasure, but we also want to make sure there is enough for our needs first.Scriptures we dive into today: John 6:1-141 Peter 4:1-2Ephesians 5:15-21Thanks for listening! Citizens of Heaven | Peace

November 2, 2025 In a time of unrest, think about how you find peace, where do you turn to find relief? It’s not unusual for us to seek out some kind of escape that will take our mind away from the chaos we’re in. The question we need to wrestle with is: does the activity we’re turning to truly provide the peace that we seek for our soul or does it fall short?Scriptures we dive into today: Isaiah 25:8Revelation 21:42 Peter 1:21 Kings 19:9-12Philippians 4:3-7Thanks for listening! The Jesus I Never Knew | The Servant

September 28, 2025 In the ministry of Jesus, we see a side of Jesus’ character we’re not too comfortable with. Jesus reveals this incredible part of His nature; Jesus the Servant. This is a side of Jesus that makes us uncomfortable because we like to think of Jesus as our King, not our Servant. However, this part of Jesus’ nature is critical for our faith.Scriptures we dive into today: John 3:8Mark 10:35-45Philippians 2:4-7Thanks for listening! The Jesus I Never Knew | The Good Shepherd

September 21, 2025 This Sunday we were joined by one of our partners in ministry, Adult and Teen Challenge of Green Bay. ATC is a drug/alcohol/addiction residential treatment program. They shared an update, testimony and worshiped with us through music before pastor Shawn's sermon. The sermon: Jesus referred to Himself in John 10 as the Good Shepherd. For many, this is not the Jesus you grew up knowing, this is not the image of Jesus that immediately comes to mind. The shepherd is the overseer and caretaker of the flock. The shepherd provides safety, care and oversight for the sheep. The shepherd cares about the health of the sheep. The Pharisees were not doing a good job of shepherding their flock, Jesus uses this imagery to declare that He is The Good Shepherd.Scriptures we dive into today: John 10:11-15Thanks for listening! The Jesus I Never Knew | The Ladder to Heaven

September 14, 2025 We are all familiar with ladders, we use them to gain access to things that are inaccessible. Jesus says He is the ladder to heaven. This image paints a picture of us needing to put in the work of climbing the ladder to get to Jesus. But that is not the intended image that is being created by Scripture. Humanity does not climb up to God, instead God makes His divine presence known and felt on earth.Scriptures we dive into today: Genesis 28:13-14John 1:14-15Romans 5:1-2Thanks for listening! Four-Letter Words of the Bible | Pray

August 31, 2025 It is not unusual for the believer to become discouraged about prayer. We’ve all had prayers go unanswered, we’ve all prayed for that friend, family member, neighbor, or coworker that goes unanswered. We pray for a miracle, for God to show up, we plead for divine intervention and what we get is crickets. We hear of other people praying for healing and deliverance and they seem to get what they want, but when our prayer goes unanswered, it leaves us wondering, “What’s the point?”Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 7:7-111 John 5:14-15James 4:1-3Thanks for listening! Four-Letter Words of the Bible | Give

August 10, 2025 In the church, a big relational deal breaker is the topic of money that causes people to shut down. People have a tendency to check out mentally when the topic of money comes up. A lot of people have left the church and never returned because of the topic of giving.Scriptures we dive into today: 2 Corinthians 9:7-8Acts 20:28-35Romans 14:12Thanks for listening! Four-Letter Words of the Bible: REST

August 3, 2025 Rest is what my soul desires but my mind gets focused on the things the prevent my rest. There truly is no “rest for the weary”, when their mind won’t shut down. Our mind has trouble shutting down in these moments, we keep hitting the rewind button as we overanalyze our situation.Scriptures we dive into today: Genesis 2:2-3Matthew 11:25-30John 16:33Hebrews 4:9-12Thanks for listening! Four-Letter Words of the Bible: HOPE

July 27, 2025 Hope is our compass as Christians and the promises of the gospel are our true north. The process begins and ends with hope – our hope in Christ and his coming and the hopeful character He forges in us even in the worst of circumstances. Let’s look to the future with hope and find traces of that gospel hope in every day.Scriptures we dive into today: Romans 5:1-5Romans 8:26-30John 16:25-32Psalms 27Revelation 21Revelation 22Thanks for listening! Four-Letter Words of the Bible: LIFE

July 20, 2025 When we hear words like hope, life, or rest – we tend to apply meaning to those words that is different from Scripture. We hear those words and we might even scoff a bit if we’ve not been experiencing rest in our life or if life has felt hopeless. In this series, we want Scripture to give us a biblical perceptive of how to define these words in our life so we can better follow Jesus.Scriptures we dive into today: John 10:7-10Colossians 3:1-4Thanks for listening! Prayer is Surrender | Surrender My Hope to God's Grace

July 13, 2025 In our own life of faith, we’re prone to having a distorted view of Hope. We look at hope through our feelings instead of through our faith. Too many of us pray, “God forgive me for what I’m about to do” instead of praying “God, keep me from doing what I don’t want to do!” That is what it looks like when the believer surrenders their hopes to God’s grace!Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 6:9-131 John 5:181 John 3:4-101 Corinthians 10:13Thanks for listening! July 6, 2025 The Rich Young Man comes to Jesus entirely sure of his own religious efforts and abilities. Jesus cuts right to his main nerve and attachment to the world – his wealth. Jesus invites the man to put himself in His care. Jesus still invites us to do so, and the petition “Lead us not into temptation” is one way we can pray to put ourselves into His care, and not our own.Scriptures we dive into today: Mark 10:13-16Mark 10:17-22Matthew 6:9-15Matthew 18:1-4Thanks for listening! June 29, 2025 When it comes to developing our habit of prayer, we need learn to surrender our wisdom. I’m not saying, “don’t use your mind or be discerning.” What I am saying is that in our life of prayer, we will need to surrender our wisdom in favor of the wisdom God reveals through Scripture and the Holy Spirit.Scriptures we dive into today: Proverbs 3:5-8Matthew 6:9-15Ephesians 4:32Matthew 18:23-35Thanks for listening! Prayer is Surrender | Surrender to Pride

June 22, 2025 Pride holds us back in our faith. Pride causes us to think that we know better, it keeps us isolated, it causes us to be overconfident, it makes us defensive, and it strains our relationships. Pride hinders personal growth and creates barriers to experiencing joy, fulfillment, and contentment. In our life of prayer, we need to surrender to pride.Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 6:9-131 Peter 5:6-7Thanks for listening! Prayer is Surrender | Surrender to Self

June 15, 2025 Coming to faith reprioritizes everything in our life. Suddenly what we do with our time, talent, and treasures gets shifted through the lens of faith. My faith shifts my values and how I spend my time. God uses prayer in the life of the believer to help bring about this change as we mature and grow in our faith. Prayer helps me to surrender to self.Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 6:5-13Thanks for listening! Check our website for to learn more about us, and upcoming events: TheMissionChurch.us

Prayer is Surrender | Surrender to God

June 8, 2025 One of the most difficult areas of our faith to develop is a heart of surrender is in our prayer life. Scripture gives us clear direction on how to pray and what we should pray for, but our prayers still sound more like we’re ordering of a menu than approaching the throne with a heart of submission. We’re starting a new series this morning called Prayer is Surrender. This morning, we’re going to focus on our ability to Surrender to God.Scriptures we dive into today: Matthew 6:5-13Ezekiel 37:1-6Thanks for listening! Walk the Walk | Walk in Armor

June 1, 2025 Overconfidence causes us to forget to put on the Armor and it causes us to be ill-equipped for battle. Do you find yourself ill-equipped or well-equipped for the battle of faith that we’re in? Paul directs us to be ready, even though the victory is ours through Christ. It’s the Armor of God that helps us to withstand that attacks that come at us.Scriptures we dive into today: Ephesians 6:10-241 Samuel 17:38-401 Kings 20:11Thanks for listening! Walk the Walk | Walking in Obedience

May 25, 2025 Paul takes us through some obedience training. God’s desire is that as our relationship with Him deepens, that we would develop a heart that obeys because we love and trust God; this honors God. Our ability to honor God is not limited to our relationship God, it extends to our other relationships as well. We can’t honor God while being dishonoring in other relationships. Paul is going to direct our hearts as he teaches us how to honor God by honoring those we have significant relationships with.Scriptures we dive into today: Ephesians 6:1-9Thanks for listening! Walk the Walk | New Walk

May 11, 2025 In our journey of faith, our walk with God is a lot like the progression of a child learning to walk. The Holy Spirit stirs something inside us, we come into an eternity changing relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and we begin to grow in our faith. We start reading our Bible, we go to church, we start hanging out with other believers, we begin to ask questions – we start to learn how to walk in our faith! It’s a bit awkward and clumsy, but we’re moving and progressing.Scriptures we dive into today: Ephesians 2:11-22Ephesians 3:1-19Thanks for listening! Walk the Walk | Who Are We?

May 4, 2025 Jesus brings peace between humanity and God, for any willing to accept it, and He brings peace between humanity. As Judge, Jesus could have come to declare war, but in His grace, He came with a message of peace. In the church, we allow hostility to exist between us as we forget who we are in Christ. Paul answers the question: Who are we, as he directs the corporate side of our faith.Scriptures we dive into today: Ephesians 2:11-22Ephesians 3:1-19Thanks for listening!
