Superfund is a United States federal environmental remediation program established by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA). The program is administered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The program is designed to investigate and clean up sites contaminated with hazardous substances. Sites managed under this program are referred to as Superfund sites. This podcast aims to collect readings of the EPA's official narrative summary for every Superfund site on the National Priorities List, with minimum modification and no commentary. New episodes are posted every so often.

Interstate Lead Company
The Interstate Lead Company (ILCO) Superfund site is located in Leeds, Alabama. It includes the area where ILCO operated a secondary lead smelter and lead battery recycling facility from 1970 to 1992. Ciba Geigy Corp
The 1,500-acre Ciba-Geigy Corp. (McIntosh Plant) Superfund site is located about one mile Northeast of McIntosh on 1379 Ciba Road, Washington County, Alabama. Anniston Army Depot
Anniston Ordnance Depot, which occupies approximately 30 square miles in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama, was officially designated as an ammunition storage area on October 14, 1941. Over the years, operations were expanded to include the overhauling and repairing of combat vehicles and artillery equipment. The facility is currently referred to as the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD). Alabama Army Ammunition Plant
The Alabama Army Ammunition Plant (AAAP) covers 5,168 acres just east of the Coosa River north of Childersburg, Talladega County, Alabama. The U.S. Army terminated manufacturing operations in August 1945. The plant was in standby status until 1973, when it was declared excess property.
