Just let it grow – On biodiversity and why we should work with the nature
In this season finale, Rasmus and Charlie are remotely joined by Tiphaine, Lucy and Simon – founders of the student association at LiU called Operation Green (fb: OperationGreenLinkoping). They have an interesting discussion about the ever-so-relevant biodiversity. Why such a big deal about it? Why is biodiversity so important for our own well-being and what can we do to secure it in the future? // As said, this is the last episode of this season and we’ll hopefully return after a nice summer break! Blueprints of our society – Can we design ourselves through all the challenges?
Why is design such an integral part of reaching towards sustainability? In this episode Charlie and Rasmus are joined my two design master's students at LiU, Mia Shu (ig: @mia.shu) and Shilpi Rath (ig: @shilpi.r.rath), to discuss just this topic. Can we design ourselves through the challenges ahead? To integrate our societies within the world around? // This episode was recorded some time ago so we do not mention the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Things have escalated quite a lot since. Moving on – What do sports have to do with sustainability?
Sofie's back and invites Rasmus and our new voice Yu to discuss two of her interests: sports and sustainability. How do they relate to each other and are sports good or bad from the sustainability perspective? // If it feels strange that we do not mention the ongoing covid-19 outbreak, it's because this episode was recorded some time ago before it became a pandemic. Things have changed quite a lot since :) Stay well everyone! // Special thanks to Digital Kreativ Verkstad (@digitalkreativverkstad) at the Linköping City Library for allowing us to use the recording studio! /// Resources: "Formula 1 announces plan to be Net Zero Carbon by 2030" https://www.formula1.com/en/la... /// Social Media: Facebook @sustuspodcast // Twitter @sustuspodcast // Instagram @sustain.us /// Sustain Us Theme: Composition by Joshua Wat // Arrangement and Production by Rasmus Sihvonen /// Artwork by Charlie Chan // Logo typeface by Luce de Groot /// Thank you Navitas Platform for supporting this podcast!

Utopia behind the horizon! – The European Green Deal and social transformations
What is the role of utopian thinking in transforming societies? What kind of a future could the European Green Deal give us? Charlie and Rasmus are joined by Björn-Ola Linnér, a professor and a researcher at LiU Environmental Change and the Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research (CSPR) – among many other affiliations. He shares some of his wisdom and insights in societal transformations, the recently published European Green Deal and the bright future that we might have ahead of us! /// Resources: Linnér, B.O. and Wibeck, V. That way – Should we nudge for sustainability?
For this episode Charlie and Rasmus are joined by Emma Nilsson Tengstrand, an MSc student at Linköping University. Emma is an experienced "nudger", and she shares her insights into the concept and its practicalities. Unfortunately the audio quality is quite poor this time due to the alternative setup that we used, but we'll be back on track for the next one. Such waste – Why do we recycle?
When not recording a podcast or studying Sofie works at a recycling central. Today she invites her classmate and colleague Jenny to teach Rasmus (and you of course!) about recycling and how we should think about waste. What really goes on at a recycling central and how is it to work there? // One thing we'd like to point out is that sorting mirrors (mentioned in the episode) should be done according to the local practises. In Linköping they are regarded as 'Landfill' and in Uppsala as "Furniture" that then goes to further sorting. /// Further Resources: Tekniska Verken Sorting Guide (in Swedish) - https://www.tekniskaverken.se/miljo/sortera/sorteringsguide/ // Recycling in Sweden (in English) - https://sweden.se/nature/the-swedish-recycling-revolution/ // Other Waste Statistics (in Swedish) - https://www.naturvardsverket.se/Sa-mar-miljon/Mark/Avfall/ - https://www.scb.se/hitta-statistik/sverige-i-siffror/miljo/hushallens-avfall-i-sverige/ - https://www.scb.se/hitta-statistik/sverige-i-siffror/miljo/atervinning-av-forpackningar-i-sverige/ // Circular Economy in the EU (in English) - https://ec.europa.eu/environment/circular-economy/ /// Social Media: Facebook @sustuspodcast // Twitter @sustuspodcast // Instagram @sustain.us /// Sustain Us Theme: Composition by Joshua Wat // Arrangement and Production by Rasmus Sihvonen /// Artwork by Charlie Chan // Logo typeface by Luce de Groot /// Thank you Navitas Platform for supporting this podcast!

Peace of mind – How to deal with climate anxiety?
Sofie and Rasmus are joined by Tora Lundgren and Josefin Ekesbo, two psychology student from Linköping University and members of the student association Psykologisation (ig: @psykologisationlkpg). We talk about climate anxiety and its "barriers" and solutions.
