Sometimes choices are essentially dictated to you by obvious external factors, like whether to make an emergency run to the hospital for stitches. But what about when the decision is purely one of preference, what factors should you use then?  Listen in to hear what the Bible has to say about this as we dig into letters from the apostle Paul.

Imagine driving through your hometown after years away. The houses haven't changed nearly as much as you have. Then you turn onto the street where you grew up, and there it is—a familiar porch light glowing against the evening sky. Most people would see a light bulb. To others it is hope, love and someone saying, "I'm still here. I'm waiting for you."  Tune in to today's episode and hear how this picture reminds us of our parents, but also our Heavenly Father. 

One of the greatest gifts a parent can give their children is a legacy of faith. However, we cannot spend our lives living under the umbrella of someone else's relationship with God. God has no grandchildren. Every one of us must come to the place where the God we've heard about becomes the God we personally know.  That is exactly where we see Jacob in Genesis 28.  Listen in to see how God personally met him in his wilderness.

Fear can echo through generations, but so can trust in God's faithfulness. In Genesis 12, 20, and 26, we see Abraham and Isaac fall into the same pattern of fear, yet God never breaks His promise. Join us as we look at Genesis 26 and discover how God remains faithful to us even in the middle of our fear.

There are moments in Scripture that feel almost impossible to reconcile. Stories where sin and mercy stand side by side.And few passages reveal that tension more powerfully than 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21–22. Yet hidden inside this painful story is one of the most breathtaking examples of God bringing redemption out of ruin. Because the very place where judgment fell would become the place where mercy rested.

This year marks 250 years since the birth of America. Do you truly believe that God is good?  Truly good?  All the time good?  Even when bad things happen?  This is something I think all of us question at times.  We may even know in our head that God is good, but in our heart we are feeling differently.  I want to encourage us today with reminders of God's goodness and how we can know in our mind and heart that God is good, all the time, in every situation.
