"The Human Elements of Health Data in an AI-obsessed world" by Amanda MakulecAs genAI tools reshape how many data visualizations are created, health data requires more than just a human in the loop. Often, we see ourselves or people we care about represented in those data sets, sometimes from exceptionally challenging periods of illness or frustration navigating health care systems. The human elements of health data mean we must handle data with care, considering:- Who is represented in the data?- Who is the messenger sharing the data?- How data may be (mis)understood and influence health behaviors?During this talk, Amanda will share examples of public health data visualization projects she's worked on over hear 15+ years focused on public health data communication and personal experiences as the audience for health data visualizations.

Andrew Gutierrez presents "It's Who You Know": Using Tableau for Relationship Mapping. We’ve all heard the phrase “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Never has this adage been more applicable than in the fundraising world, where mutual connections are often leveraged to help engage prospective donors. It's now common for fundraising shops to invest in acquiring information on who else their prospects might know, with employment and corporate/civic board membership data frequently being utilized. But while most shops will agree on relationship data's importance, many organizations still struggle to use this information to its full potential; most industry-standard CRMs still lack even basic functionality to visualize constituent relationships. Fortunately, Tableau can be utilized as a solution. This presentation will provide an overview of social network analysis and of common applications of relational data within fundraising, and it will then present walkthroughs of several ways to implement relationship data within Tableau dashboards. If you or your organization has struggled in the past to utilize your constituents' relationship data, this presentation is for you.

'Borderlands 4' Launch Load Testing by Jeffrey WaldronGearbox Software shares how its online engineering team prepared the backend platform for the launch of Borderlands 4 through large-scale, full-system load testing. Rather than validating individual features in isolation, the team built a unified test that simulated real player behavior across all online systems, from matchmaking to cross-platform play. This session details how the team generated realistic data, leveraged AWS and Serverless technology, and balanced test fidelity against cost and complexity. Attendees learn how Gearbox overcame late-stage technical challenges such as spot instance terminations and adopting Serverless Redis, and how these efforts led to both platform stability and improved team readiness. The talk provides practical takeaways for studios looking to conduct high-fidelity load testing at scale and highlights how holistic testing can strengthen both technical confidence and cross-team collaboration before launch. Data Talks to You: If You Know How to Listen by Sahana Halady SubrayaAs a PM it is considered crucial to have data understanding and utilize data to make decisions in product. This talk will touch key areas where data reveals who your users really are, which features are worth building, and whether your last decision actually moved the needle.
