Rapper Chris "KID" Reid Gets a Heart Transplant & Promises a New Legacy
Read Interview at: https://www.preferredhealthmagazine.com/chris-kid-reid Hip-hop legend Christopher "Kid" Reid is celebrating a powerful comeback after undergoing a life-saving heart transplant just six months ago following a diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).Reid—one half of the iconic hip-hop duo Kid 'n Play—has called the transplant a “second chance at life.” After being diagnosed with congestive heart failure in July 2025, his condition deteriorated rapidly within weeks, leading doctors to move him to the intensive care unit as they urgently prepared him for transplant surgery.According to cardiothoracic surgeon Laura DiChiacchio, Reid’s situation became critical, placing him high on the transplant priority list. Despite the gravity of the moment, Reid remained calm and focused, telling his medical team he was ready. After successfully completing the required physical and psychological evaluations, he underwent the transplant that ultimately saved his life. Now, six months later, the rapper, actor, and comedian says he feels stronger and is looking ahead to new creative projects. He credits gratitude, meaningful relationships, and staying mentally resilient as key parts of his recovery.Reid is also using his experience to raise awareness about heart health—particularly in communities of color. Partnering with institutions such as Cedars-Sinai and the American Heart Association, he hopes to encourage earlier detection and better understanding of heart disease.Heart failure remains a widespread health challenge. The Heart Failure Society of America estimates that 6.7 million Americans live with CHF, a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. Early symptoms—often fatigue, shortness of breath, or unusual sleepiness—can easily be mistaken for normal aging, which is why awareness and early medical attention are critical. For Reid, survival has come with a renewed purpose: using his voice and platform to remind others that paying attention to heart health can save lives. The House Party star spoke with Preferred Health Magazine to reflect on his legacy, highlighting friendship, consistency, loyalty, and his resolve to continue making a positive impact.

NITRIC OXIDE FOR CHRONIC DISEASE
Nitric Oxide is Foundational to Human HealthFor decades, modern medicine has chased symptoms—high blood pressure, diabetes, cognitive decline—without fully addressing the root cause that connects them all. According to Dr. Nathan S. Bryan, one of the world’s leading nitric oxide researchers, that missing link is nitric oxide itself. A biochemist trained under Nobel Prize–winning scientists, Dr. Bryan has spent more than 25 years studying how nitric oxide functions in the human body, why its production declines so rapidly with age, and how that decline fuels chronic disease. His work spans peer-reviewed research, patented therapies, dietary supplements, and FDA-bound drug development—including groundbreaking work targeting Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Bryan sat down with Preferred Health Magazine to explain why nitric oxide is foundational to human health, how everyday habits quietly destroy it, and what people can do—starting now—to restore the body’s natural ability to heal and thrive. To learn more visit www.N1O1.com#nitricoxide #interview #Doctorinterviews #DrNathanBryan #PreferredHealthPodcast #TalkingPointswithPHM #Podcastinterviews #Doctorinterviews #N1O1

From Tragedy to Trailblazer in Dance and Disability Empowerment
Today on Talking Points with PHM! CHELSIE HILL: From Tragedy to Trailblazer in Dance and Disability Empowerment. Some stories break you, others build you—Chelsie Hill's did both, and in the process, she built a movement. Back in 2010, Chelsie was a typical 17-year-old high school student who loved spending time with friends, dancing, and living it up in Monterey, California. Then life took an unexpected turn. After leaving a party with friends, she got into a car with a drunk driver. That driver ended up crashing, leaving Chelsie clinging to life. Rushed to the hospital, doctors told Chelsie she was paralyzed from the waist down and wouldn't walk again. Turning tragedy into triumph, Chelsie focused on ways she could still dance, even from a mobility chair. A determined and immensely hard-working Chelsie has redefined what dance looks like; in 2012, she launched the "Rollettes," an internationally recognized wheelchair dance team and empowerment collective. Today, Chelsie's a professional dancer, entrepreneur, wife, mother, reality TV star, and community leader. Friendly, warm, and endlessly approachable, she also leads the Rollettes Experience in Los Angeles, founded the Boundless Babe Society (a virtual mentorship platform), and the Boundless Talent Showcase. Whether she's spearheading dance events, spending time with her daughter, Jaelyn, or mentoring teenagers, Chelsie Hill glides through life with grace and optimism, inspiring others to do the same. She spoke with Preferred Health Magazine about her current projects, bonding with teenagers, and more.
