Talking With Umaa

Talking With Umaa is a curious corner for the things we leave unnamed. Host Umaa Thampu is a Gestalt psychotherapist working at the intersection of therapy, identity, culture and power. Each episode is one unhurried, rigorous conversation with a practitioner, writer, scholar or artist whose thinking changes how we understand the inner life — and what history, race, class, migration, queerness and power are doing inside it. It is a thinking space: guests bring the concepts they have built, Umaa puts those concepts under pressure, 'Where does this idea fail?' and 'Who does it leave out?' Every episode ends with something you can take into your own practice, workplace or family before the next one arrives. Who it's for: therapists, counsellors, psychologists, supervisors and trainees who want language for what their training never covered. Educators, organisers, HR professionals and faith leaders who need more than a
