Teach Me or Heal Me
by The Messenger
Welcome to Teach Me or Heal Me, a podcast about the moments that break us, the medicine that finds us, and the journeys that reshape us.Here, you'll hear anonymous voices, mostly veterans but not exclusively, sharing their real stories of pain, resilience, and transformation. These are people who found their way to psychedelics not out of curiosity, but out of necessity. Trauma, grief, disconnection, and the search for something that could make it bearable or simply meaningful, again. They speak candidly about what led them to these substances, what happened during those deeply personal journeys, and what life has looked like after. We don't offer advice. We offer space. These stories aren't told to convince, they're told to connect. Whether you're here to understand, feel seen, or simply to listen... welcome.

I saw a Bryan Hubbard post where he read off a letter from the wife of a Marine who was struggling from the loss of his teammates in Iraq. December 1st 2005 was a tragic day for our battalion that left 10 dead and 11 wounded. This event put a sadness in him that he carried for 20 years. After hearing a podcast about Ibogaine, he and his wife went down to Mexico to investigate all the hype... and received more than they had ever imagined. This is his story

Send us your story to be a future guest. Please include a contact method for us to reach out to. Guest #7 served as a medic in the army and took that task to heart. His purpose in emergency medicine carried on to his civilian life as a flight nurse and that mission consumed him, fully. Maybe too fully... the years of service, importance of his role, and desire to never fail set the bar of expectation to an unattainable level. Without a routine of decompression in place, he hit a wall. That impact drove him to the realization that change had to occur and after watching a Paul Stammets documentary about psilocybin, he chose an unconventional path that led him to healing, a new way to support his community, and this podcast. This is his story.

Guest #6 was a Navy Corpsman and Air Force PJ who thrived in the SOF community and felt that loss of community in his reintegration to civilian life. Ultimately his family and commitment to them led him to seek help. He accepted an offer for the Trifecta Study that ended with a psychedelic journey that opened his mind, heart, and spirit to the pitfalls of perception that build barriers and cause division among us. This is his story.

Guest #5 is an Army veteran who experienced numerous TBI's and after struggling with cognitive issues he received a devastating prognosis of early onset dementia at the age of 40. He was instructed to go home, take the pharmaceutical drugs that might delay his decline, and told there was nothing that could be done. He decided to take things into his own hands and went down to Mexico to the Ambio clinic and see what impact an ibogaine treatment could have. One year later he returned to the VA and baffled doctors with a complete recovery, a newly discovered perspective on life, and much more... This is his story.
